Hi, recently I´ve tried to connect my MS40 monitors to a Smart TV via the optical line and the problem is that it only sounds the right speaker, sounds very well but only de right. The left one it seems to vibrate a little but it doesn´t make any sound. The TV output is set in PCM mode.

I don´t have any problems with the rca connectios. They sounds really good.

Thank you very much and sorry for my poor english.

Hi everyone, I write from Italy and I'm not very good with English, in fact I'm using the Google translator. I'm a non-professional bass player, but I write as a user of the Ultracurve Pro DEQ 2496 in my stereo system. It changed my life, I listened in a much better way than before and I even bought two of them within three weeks. I hope it continues to exist for a long time, because it is addictive and now I can't do without it.

I have the umc204hd playback ports 1 & 2 wired to a fostex sub woofer with its passthru outputs connected to two mackie mr 524 speakers. I'm using Hauptwerk to supply the audio to the umc204hd. I  have the latest version umc204hd asio driver, with it's output set to the max. The audio volume is lower than expected even with the speaker's volume controls set to the max. Any suggestions are most welcome!

I've submitted two tech support requests for the umc204, both were closed with no apparent update from support that I can find...

      Hi David ( @dlgabry ),

Welcome to the community.  I've seen a few posts about the RCA level being lower than expected our of the PB outputs.  I have a 404HD which also has balanced PB outputs and I've always used those.  I think it depends on the input sensitivity of the amp. In situations like this I usually put a stereo line pre-amp in between the output device and the input of the amp.  Something like this should work fine: https://www.amazon.com/STEREO-LINE-PRE-AMPLIFIER-15DB-12VDC/dp/B00I01ZNUS.

      Hope this helps,

      Ken

    Hi,

I am very novice with audio but usually once I can play with things I'm very good at learning. I inherited a DEQ2496 and some other components. But there is no way for me to tell in what order I should hook them up in. For example, the amplifier, receiver, etc. If you could send me what order to hook things up, I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks.

    Thomas

    Hi,

Someone to tell me what is internal wiring of DC-8?

I think to bi-wire them (2 runs per speaker), but dont know what gauge and cable type to looking for.

    The amp is Marantz PM11S3.

    Thank you,

Hi, Use a thick multistrand cable for the LF and a good quality solid core for the HF to yield the best results. The amplifier sends exactly the same signal through single or bi-wired cables. The difference comes in the separation of frequencies at the speaker end of the cable. The internal components (crossover) of a speaker sends the high frequencies and low frequencies to the correct drivers/tweeter. Even though the difference is minimal, many audiophiles claim this bi-wiring method increases the stereo separation and perceived level of detail.

I have a Behringer 204 that I am utilizing with my iMac. I'm trying to get 4 channels to play utilzing the audio outputs but cannot find the correct software. Does anyone have a recommendation of software that has this capabilities?

      Hi Ryan ( @rmayer121 ),

Welcome to the community.  There are many applications that support multi-channel audio.  It would probably help if you explained a bit more about what you need or what you are trying to accomplish.

I have 4 audio animatronic controller boards that are activated when sound is ran through them. I would like to be able to utilze my Behringer 204HD for this and export the audio to 4 separate channels. I've created the tracks with Audacity, but it only has the capability of exporting 2 channels. Just need specific software that has the ability to edit tracks and export into 4 channels. Does this make more sense? Thanks for the help.

      Hi Ryan,

Just about any DAW (digital audio workstation) software will do what you want.  One that's popular around here is Reaper which comes with a 60 free trial and is only $60 to purchase after that.  If you want something that is free take a look at Tracktion T7.

BTW, sounds like a fun project.  Is this for a theatre production or for a Halloween setup or something else?

      Hope this helps,

I will definitely check out Reaper for the free trial and then if it works, I can decide if I want to spend $60. I think I tried downloading Tracktion last year and ran into issues so I gave up on it.

This is for my Halloween setup I have at my house (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6czEVZX-wU). RIght now I have 2 characters running off my computer and then have a local iPod I have to turn on for others. If this works, it gives me the ability to expand the amount of animated characters I can have. Thanks for your help Ken!

Very cool!  Let me know if you need a hand with Reaper.  Tracktion has had stability issues in the past.  I've been using Reaper for about 9 years in a lot of theatrical productions as well as personal projects.   Most of my theatre work these days is in soundscapes and audio special effects.  We use MIDI and OSC messages, as well as Ethernet UDP packets to trigger sound effects based on various electro-mechanical events.

I noticed a Washington license plate and of U of W helmet in one of your videos.  I'm in California, so same TZ.

I have a Crown Amp XLS 1002 that are connected to Polk RTI6 passive speakers. I want to also connect my Sub to the amp. I have a Powered sub. I also have a SMSL SU-8 Dac that is connected via the balanced outputs.192.168.0.1

I done some reading but still dont understand it quite yet. From what I understand and correct me if am wrong.

From the DAC i need to use a Y XLR cable and connect it to channel 1 input. whatsapp web

Then I connect the sub channel 2 output via either speakon or binding postsrouterlogin

Then I connect the passive speakers to channel 2 output(But I would need to bi -wire the speakers in parallel or something like that?)

Then the Crossover in the AMP directs all the traffic with the pass filters?

If all is correct. How does it determine left and right for imaging? Or do I lose that when I connect it this way?
