Hello, I'm trying to locate the schematics for the internal wiring of Tannoy DMT 12 speakers.

I bought a used pair and discovered they are out of phase. (I'm bi-wiring) When I hook them up normally,(correct polarity) there's a lack of bass.  WHen I reverese the polarity on one speaker, there's more bass - they sound better.

However, I don't know if the woofers and tweeters are in phase with each other.

The Tribe support page doesn't list DMT's , I guess because they're discontinued.

Can anyone out there tell me where to find the schematics? Or  is there any other sure-fire way to make sure all 4 drivers are the proper polarity?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

      David Knighton Hello Jon Bojicic,
Genuinely, these speakers are quite legacy, and have been long before Music Tribe acquired the Tannoy brand. I would check the polarity of the input as opposed to the polarity of the driver, as the input polarity could very well be the problem. Also, ensure your cable polarity is consistent. You'd be surprised how many cables are produced with the polarity swapped from end to end.

Jon Bojicic Thank you very much for responding. The cables are correct. It is the input polarity that's the problem. But obviously someone has mucked around with the insides of the speakers, and I'm trying to find a way to make sure everything is connected properly. I know I can check the woofers with a battery, but I don't think Iwoult be able to see any excursion on the tweeter. Anyway, I alreaady know the woofers re out of phase with each other, but I don't know how to check if the tweeter in each cab is in phase with the woofer.

David Knighton If you were to pull the drivers out, you should see the output terminals to the drivers labeled positive or negative. Beyond that, you'd need a SMAART spectrum analyzer to check phase coherency between the two.

Jon Bojicic Again, Thank You. I'll have a look. By output terminals, I'm guessing you mean the output of the crossover to the driver, not from the outside terminals to the crossover, which is really an input?

Rex Beckett Only with bad SD cards, Scott. Try a different make or size (=<32GB). Also make sure that the SD card's write-protect tab is off.

Rex Beckett I use SanDisk Extreme Pro SD cards in X-Live and they work well. The X-Live supports SDHC cards but not SDXC so 32GB is the maximum supported size.

Rex Beckett Did you verify that the X-Live card firmware did update, Scott? It should be rev A12. The versions are displayed on the console's Setup -> Global page.

    Hello,
I just recently upgraded from the xr12 to the xr18. On the XR12 you can simply instert a usb stick and record 2 channels. Is there an easy way to do this with the XR18? I know the XR18 can record 16 channels when you hook it up to a computer. But I just want a simple 2 channel recoding like on the xr12.
For exmple if I have a USB adapter so I can plug in a standard thumb drive.

    Thank you.

Nigel Turner Hi Matthew, unfortunately it is not possible to use a USB stick on the XR18 for recording, even using an adapter. I have seen people connecting their IPADs to the XR18 and recording directly to that. They use a software called Auria. There are a number of videos on the internet that will show you how to do this.

I've asked this in a similar fashion before and the support i got was excellent and it worked perfectly. Due to the current situation covid 19. I haven't recorded in a while.  In record mode V4.02 I have input 1-32 set on card   on the card I have local 1-32, in logic  I have input set to whatever channel I'm recording and output to stereo 31 and 32, the problem is in record  mode I have no gain control I.cant even see the gain level of the incoming signal on the desk , all I see is the playback 31 and 32, its definitely a routing problem but I don't know where to start looking

    Appreciate your help

Rex Beckett Hi Glenn, the fastest way for us to help is by looking at your current settings. If you export the current scene, upload it to a file share (e.g. Google Drive) and post a shareing link, we should be able to help.

Rex Beckett It worked, Glenn, I can load your scene. Now I need to know how you want it to work. At the moment it looks as though the Record and Play routing has got reversed. On Record it is taking inputs from the Card (USB) and on Play it is taking the local analogue inputs. Also the Card outputs are being routed from the Card inputs which makes no sense.

If you can explain what inputs you want to record and how you want the playback routing to work, we can fix it.

It would also help to know how you are using channels 31/32 (PC) and what Aux 1/2 are used for.

glenn eichenberger hi rex thanks for your quick reply Aux I was using to play back from the computer (logic) but now Im using 31 and 32 I can hear the stereo better for panning. Ive reversed the routing on the record setting INPUT is now on local and on CARDI have card selected, logic plays only when I set everything to stereo out and use the card AUX 1-2 otherwise I hear nothing. Also when I try to record with this setup I get now monitoring only on AUX but no signal in logic or in 31-32. What I want to do is ; select the track I want to record eg. track 20, adjust the gain so as to get a good level record it, output from logic is 31-32 and hear it back plus the rest of the mix ( all channels on logic are routed to 31.32 out) I hope you can understand my ramblings, thanks for your help

    Hi there,

I've been using my Behringer Xenyx Q1002USB Mixer for the last couple of years now and never run into a problem until yesterday. All of a sudden my audio from my Shure PGA 28 microphone isn't being received by my desktop nor my laptop. When I listen internally through the mixer itself the mic works fine so it's not the mic. The output works fine as well. When plugged in to my desktop I can hear all my computer sounds. I tried device manager driver updates and that didn't do anything.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Sarah

Nigel Turner Hi Sarah. From your description it sounds as though you are using a Windows computer, again probably Windows 10. Do you know if it has made a software upgrade between the times it was working and isn't? On the computer, if you go into Sounds > Recording, is the mixer being shown there? If so, there is a bargraph on the right hand side of the setting. If you play music into the computer from the mixer, is the bargraph lighting. If so, then the audio is getting into your computer and is possibly an issue with your DAW. If your mixer isn't showing up in the Recording setting, go into your Bluetooth and other devices and see if the mixer is showing up under audio devices.

Sarah Noiseux 1. Yes, I'm using Windows 10 (sorry forgot to mention that).
        2. No software upgrades on the website that I can see.
        3. The mixer shows up but bar graph doesn't move at all when I talk in the mic and when I play music through the mixer.

      • Behringer Xenyx Q1002USB Mixer Input Problem
Nigel Turner Hi Sarah, It does sound as though you have a fault on the USB although it is strange that your computer is seeing the mixer. Could you just take a look at the link below and confirm that you have everything set the same. Also, on your mixer, can you check that both the USB/2TRK switches are in the up position. Are you able to play audio from the computer to the mixer and hear it. You do have to push in the USB/2TRK to main switch to hear it? If not, then the only other thing I can think of for your to check is with another computer and if that doesn't work you will need to raise a service ticket for repair. let me know how you get on.

Sarah Noiseux Hi Nigel, I do not see a link anywhere. I tried with my laptop as well with no luck. I have both USB/2-TRACK buttons pushed and to hear the mic working I hit the FX TO CTRL RM button. I also would like to mention I purchased the mixer at BestBuy.ca in 2018. Not sure if submitting a ticket will do anything at this point in time.

Nigel Turner Sorry, forgot to add the link. It does mention setting up in Audacity, you can ignore that part, you just need to make sure that the Windows part is the same.

I noticed that you also mentioned you have both USB/2 Track buttons pressed. If the TO MAIN MIX is in, then you will not get any audio back to the computer through the USB as this button cuts the audio to the USB to stop any possibility of causing feedback

    Is anyone using this combination?

The crossover settings on the back of the sub refer to speakers in the NKKST series (no Hz given). I have the B2031a monitors (which I love), and they are rated down to 40Hz. Unsure what would be ideal for setting the sub crossover.

      David Knighton Hello Paul Ward,
If we look at the QSG for the K10S, it suggests a variable crossover of 40-150HZ. Now the control on the back doesn't give HZ like you mentioned, it gives Models in the same family. The K8 would be an 8" woofer, and since the B2031A has an 8.75" woofer, the K8 setting would be the closest match. In my honest opinion, this is most likely crossing at 40Hz on the K8 setting, and then the K5 setting to the right would be 150Hz. Smaller speaker tend to have less bass response, so they could do better with more sub emphasis. Since the K8 is a larger woofer, it doesn't require SOO much sub emphasis. Now, realistically, you don't want your B2031A and K10S spitting out too much of the same low frequency, otherwise it could result in a bottom heavy mix. The B2031A will have a low frequency adjustment to help compensate for this. You'll just have to play with it to find the sweet spot for your room. Not all rooms will be the same. Also, you'll want the sub and the monitors on the same axis so that all the woofers line up. If the sub is too far forward, you'll hear the energy from the sub before the monitors, and this can cause phase shifting/comb filtering in the low end, which is bad for your mix.
