What is the best way to hook up XR18 to IQ15 speakers? Currently using XLR to each speaker, with input on speakers set to Mic. What I don't understand is that when the input switch on the IQ15s are set to Line, I get almost nothing out of the speakers. I guess I don't understand the difference between Mic and Line for signal input on these speakers.  I may go ahead and get some Cat 5 cables and give that a try but fear it may be over my head. Just so you know, I'm new to running any kind of legit PA system and I have no clue what the hell I'm doing. I'm a master at HVAC but a hobbyist drummer that recently was given lead vocal duties in our little cover band, so I got a kick ass PA. I just need a little guidance.

      Hi David @Daverhoid,

Welcome to the forum. Connecting the XR18 to iQ speakers, you want the input on line, not mic since the XR18 outputs line level. If it isn't loud enough it means that the iQ input gains are set too low. Increase them to around 0db to start with, then adjust accordingly.

Mic level is 1/10 or lower than line level. That means the input has to accommodate that difference. Mic inputs go through a preamp in the iQ to raise the signal to line level.

Thanks for the answer Paul @Paul_Vannatto . Is the input gain not just knob or do I need to get into the LCD menus to set that? There is more to the story. I'm pretty sure the Line In worked originally but we got a little loud and toasty and had a pretty gnarly feedback event. I had the FB suppression set on Auto, yet things got out of control. It took a few seconds to get things muted and then one iq wasn't working. After flipping switches and stuff, found that Line In is pretty non existent on both speakers. Mic In works perfectly. I can't imagine that the feedback episode fried anything but maybe it did. I'd rank the feedback episode a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. That shouldn't harm such good speakers IMHO

*Update* Figured out the the feedback suppression needed to be reset. Apparently it was killing all the frequencies. I guess the feedback episode was worse than I remembered. Needless to say, I likely won't enable Auto Feedback Suppression in the DSP anymore. All is working well now.

hello just installed the 6.8.2 version, updated the firmware for 3.03 on a 2 LM26's  but it on the controller software it is saying the modules has old firmware could you please help?

6.8.2 should have brought the firmware upto 3.04 so that is why you are getting the error. First make sure you are runnung the Updater associated with 6.8.2. All versions have there own updater and if you have installed multiple versions of Lake on your PC each has its own updater. When you open updater it should give you a target version of 3.04. If this is not the case I would go back to Lake and download the software agiain. Reinstall it and run its associated Updater.

I just picked up an XR18, my first digital mixer, and I want to practice with it, learn my way around the PC and the iPad interface, explore the effects, etc. I'll be mixing on an XR32 next month in a live setting, and I want to have plenty of experience with the user interface before then.

I downloaded a couple of multitrack recordings, and imported one into Presonus Studio One 4 Prime (the free version). I've connected my PC to my XR18 with a USB cable, and I can get Studio One to play the full mix over any 2 channels, but I can't seem to figure out how to get each track to a different channel so I can mix on the XR18.

I'm in NO way tied to Studio One, I just grabbed it because it was free and a friend recommended it. I just want to practice mixing on my XR18 and get very familiar with the interface.

    So, any suggestions?

Hi Michael, welcome to the forums.

Have you installed the XR18 ASIO USB driver on your PC? If not, you will not be able to access all eighteen channels on the USB link. Also check with XAir Edit on Setup -> Audio/Midi that USB Interface 18/18 ch is selected.

Yep, I have the ASIO driver installed and the USB 18/18 set properly.

I tried Reaper, and was able to map each track to an output. I can now mute each channel, but can't solo any of them. Curiouser and curiouser.

When you solo one or more channels on an XR18 they are fed to the Monitor bus. You can normally hear this on the Phones output. It is possible to reassign the Main XLR outputs to the Monitor bus on the In/Out -> Main Out tab.

I have owned the MPA200BT for less than a year and have been extremely happy with it until recently.

The app for controlling the PA with my Samsung Galaxy 4 is called Live Control. While opening the app, a message appears at the bottom telling me to make sure I am paired and connected to the PA...and it just sets there spinning while trying to find the speaker. I let the program run for 30 minutes hoping for a connection...no joy.

Live Control works fine on my girlfriends LG Android tablet and on her iPhone.

After many discussions with Behringer tech support, we came to the conclusion that the problem is with my Galaxy tablet. They suggested joining the community to try and get some help...so here I am.

Here are the specs on my tablet:

    Version: 5.1.1

    Model: SM-T330NU

    Kernel: 3.4.0-xxxxxxxxxx

    Build: LMY47X

    KNOX 2.4

    Live Control version 1.0

    MPA200BT Hardware version 1.2 (current)

Here is what I have tried to get Live Control back:

Factory reset my Galaxy 4 tablet and MPA200BT.

    Reinstalled Live Control several times.

Changed backup settings to not allow new apps to revert to previous settings

Tried to manually revert the PA hardware back to 1.1 or 1.03 but the .mfu files are not opening on Android (mfu is for IOS appaently).

Verified bluetooth pairing and connecting by playing audio through the PA successfully.

Can someone tell me what to do to get remote control back on my PA?

Heck, I don't even care if it is Live Control. If there is alternative software that will allow me to keep my firmware up to date and give back remote control...that's fine.

    Appreciate it!

      Hi @DaveLawrence ,

The output routing switch on the SD8 is designed to work with up to three units on an AES50 line. The maximum for inputs would be six SD8s - which would use all 48 channels on the AES50 - but you would still be limited to 24 outputs.

You could have SD8s on both X32 AES50 ports if not being used to connect to other consoles.

Hey Y'all - Newb here. I've saved some sessions using the X-Live card so I can practice soundchecks and EQing. I was able to play them back the next time I turned on the console and listen / make adjustments. I can still see the sessions on the SD card, and the "cassette tape" spins when I press play. BUT nothing actually comes to the channels and can't actually hear anything.

I believe each session must be on the specific scene that it was recorded on. I've tried some that I am positive I have the right scene for, but still nothing. Is there a way to see which scene each session is attached to? or is it something else? What am I missing?

    Thanks for the help

    Phil

      Hi Phil @Philmvii ,

Welcome to the forum. Have you set the Channel Routing (on the Live SD Recorder screen) to Automatic? Have you assigned the Card 1-8, 9-16, etc to the Routing, Home (Input) playback banks?

Yes sir. Automatic is selected, and the routing has not changed, local 1-8 and 9-16. Mains on 7&8. Playback config is on SD card.

I have used the scene for a live show, mixed and saved. Would that unlink the saved info?

Hi all-- I'm running basic sound for our group from the keyboard stand, and I'm trying to wrap my brain around the best way to group our vocal mix (and I think I'm over-complicating it). Our standard config is Main L/R out and Aux 1 for monitors. Since all four of us rotate singing lead and harmonies (and we play simple setups in small rooms), we tend to have a pretty flat mix where the monitor basically represents the same mix as going out front. I'd like to be able to setup our routing so that if I make adjustments to the main mix, they also get adjusted in the monitor (i.e., we don't end up with two different mixes if I tweak things mid-show).

Can I set all four vocal channels to send to Bus 1 post-fader, and set all of them to Bus 1 +0.0, with the theory being that whatever I adjust in the main mix is then passed through to the monitors? Is there a better way to do this with sub-groups?

    Thanks!

If you're sure you just want a copy of the main LR mix in the monitor, just crunch LR to a mono matrix, route the matrix to the output socket, and feed the monitor from there.

Edit:  I was thinking X32, butI see this is for an XR18, which doesn't have mtxs.  In that case, just set bus1 up as a subgroup and assign everything, but ensure that bus1 isn't routed to LR.

Yes. Post-fader will track your fader changes. You also get your EQ and compression though.

Right-- so is there an easier way to be able to adjust (for example) Ch 1 and have it reflected in both Main and Aux 1 without having to go post-fader? Again, my goal is to be able to make quick adjustments to relative levels while we're playing and have those changes affect both the main and monitor mix. I guess I could manipulate the input level for the given channel?

      Thanks--

Been looking a the TC Helicon “play acoustic” and “play electric” for a solo performance project. I’m stymied as I plan to play both electric and acoustic in this context. Was there an earlier model that will support guitar and voice with less specificity? If not, will one transition between electric and acoustic better than the other?

I have the Voicelive Play GTX, which was a previous model. It has options for both Electric and Acoustic but to be honest, I have bypassed that in favour of an external multi-fx guitar pedal, which makes it easier for me to control both instruments (guitar, voice) seperately. I mostly bought it for the ability to feed the guitar signal through the voicelive for best pitch matching. Have since found out you can run a multi-fx into the standard voicelive via the aux input on the voicelive, using the headphone out on my multi-fx. Could've saved a pretty penny, but live and learn.

    Hi Friends:

I have been using my X32 Rack for several years now.  I use either a S16 stage box or a more recent Midas DL32 box along with it.  In a recent show, I suddenly notice that i was not getting any input signal from the local XLR channels on the X32 Rack.  The remote Midas DL32 was working fine.  There was no issue with the software or the interface on the X32.  The Aux in local channels were working.  The Aux out local channels were working.  When pressed the 48 v red lights were coming on, on every local input channel.  The only issue was absolutely no signal on the input channels.  I have thoroughly checked my routing and everything seems to be OK.

I tried to reboot several times, without any luck.

Can you please suggest what can potentially be an issue here.  How can I get this fixed.

    Thank you,

      Hi Sougato,

Welcome to the forum. What are your gains on the local inputs? I would suggest you export one of your scene files, zip it and attach it to your next post (Choose File below). I'll be glad to test it on my X32 Rack here.

      Hello:

I have actually been using this X32 Rack for over 3 years now and have been using both local channels and remote stage box together.  Typically I use Channels 1-16 for remote and Channels 7-32 for local.  I had not changed any configuration or updated between shows.  Just in the last show the local channels stopped showing any input signals.  Since then I have changed the routing and tested several times.  I have checked multiple local channels.  I have typically used gains of around 25 - 30 db with my dynamic mics.  I have played around with my gains just to see if I can get any signal.  I have even tested with a condenser mic using 48V.  There is not even a flicker of green either on my computer or on the X32 Rack meter.
