    Hey Friends,

I just got an XR16 and want to use it for rehearsal purposes.  Meaning I don't need to use the Main Outs to send to a set of speakers.  How would I route it on the mixer to use Main L & Main R as aux 5 & 6? These would all be fed into a headphone amp to IEMS.  TIA.

Hi Adam, welcome to the community.

The simplest solution is to route Bus 5/6 to the Monitor bus and route that to the main XLR outputs. Using X-Air Edit, make the following settings:

      Monitor.PNGMain Out.PNG

This should give you what you want as long as you don't click any Solo buttons.

On my I/O page I do not have the same options.  And I am unable to move "Main" from it's current location to "Monitor.

On the XR16 you will not see the USB options but it should be possible to select the Main outputs from Monitor by clicking on the right-hand square on the Main row.

    Music Group-

I would really like to see an m32 rack with 32 inputs.  Basically combine a DL32 into an x32 rack and keep the TRS aux ports.  You can get close with a core and a DL32 but you're still missing the aux TRS ports and the controls up front.  I would imagine it would be possible to fit this in a 4u chassis.

    Thanks!

It would lower the cost a bit as compared to an X32Rack and an S16+ CAT cable, but you'd lose the flexibility of being able to set the S16 elsewhere on stage.  So whatever you'd save on a 32 ch Rack you'd spend on an additional drop snake.

      Hi @RGG

X32 Rack is a great mixer; I love mine.

The first step for troubleshooting is to make sure your router is connected to the Network (ethernet) port and the router and X32 are on the same subnet (eg 192.168.1.xx or 192.168.0.xx)—the first 3 numbers have to be the same.

FYI: All X32 and M32 use the same software, so the M32 manual is often more helpful.

    Hello guys,

    i have dbx 4800 ,m32,dl32..

I  want to setup my 4800 together with dl32 on side stage,my question is it possible to patch the dl32 and 4800 into one router switch and run through a cat5 cable into FOH booth..and patch again the m32 and my laptop into another router.

    ..just like what I draw...

    thanks a lot

      Hi @MichaelVincentd

AES50 is not ethernet. Only the connectors and cable are the same. It will not not work through a router and cannot connect to any ethernet port.

Sound is not sent from the Network (ethernet) port on the M32.

Any advice sir..?.because I want my dbx 4800 to use its audio architect.do I need separate cat5 cable for 4800 and midas m32-dl32.

    • MichaelVincentd
DaveMorrison Yes, you'll need a separate cable for each. Remember you should have a shielded (STP) cat 5 cable with bonded ethercon connecters for the M32/DL32.

I like to send the main LR out of X32 to a Dante where I can control the main level and the Dante level separately.

    Anyone can offer detailed routing?

You could use a pair of linked Matrixes to tap off your L/R mix prefader and route that to another pair of Outputs, say 13 & 14, if you are using 15/16 for Main L/R outs. And then select to route these via the Card out page to Dante.

You have L/R routed to Matrix 1 & 2 Post Main fader rather than Pre. On the Routing page you need to right click on the Mauve Post circle and change it to Blue Pre. Or on the LR Sends page select Pre Fader rather than Post for send to Matrix 1/2

      Also noticed that all the
      Mtarix
Matrix sends from L/R were at +10dB.

That should read 'Also noticed that all the Matrix sends from L/R were at +10dB.'

Why can't we edit our own posts any more on this ******* forum any more?

    Hi all,
general stupid question from a future x-touch owner.
What happens if I move two fadeders simultaneously?
Or, in general, what happens if I do more than one thing simultaneously?
Does the mixer (XR18) works in a sort of multitasking way, like an analog console?

    Thank you.

      Hi @nonsonstatoio

You can move eight fader and the mixer will respond. You can hook up 2 X-touch and move 16 faders at once if you have enough fingers.

      I have another question.
I guess you are an owner of x-touch.
Can you tell me if it is usable without any other pc/tablet connecter to the mixer.
I mean, is it usable as the only interface to the mixer?

You can even move multiple faders at once on a touch screen with the X Air Edit and Mixing Station apps.

Yes. It works. You can't recall scenes though. And as others have mentioned, I find it hard to adjust EQ, and dynamics with the X_Touch—maybe I don't have enough practice. I use a tablet for that.

      Hi Chuck,

my only guess is that you might have forgotten to loose the nut of the pedal input on the backplate?

if this is not the issue, can you post some photos?

      Best ,

A Robert Scovill tutorial has me thinking in more specific terms about gain structure. This has led me to a couple of questions.

    1. Can we convert the X-32 meter info to RMS vs Peak readings?

    2. What point on the meter scale corresponds to "line level" signal? I'm thinking -18 to -20.

Thanks in advance to anyone who knows the answeres for certain.

I'm using the VoiceLive Play to provide Phantom power to my Shure Beta 87A.  Does the VoiceLive Play isolate the phantom power or does it pass through the outputs to the mixer?

It only provides phantom power to the XLR input, if you have it setup to do so, never the XLR outputs.
