    Hi,

I have an M32 with a dead fader. After reaching Midas support and since the product was bought online (Thomann.de) in a different country (I'm in Portugal), I was informed to request the support through Thomann, which I did.

Just got the answer saying that Thomann only offers a 3y warranty and since it was bought in 2016, they cannot do anything.

So before going into a possible endless ping pong, has anyone faced a similar situation?

    Cheers,

    Davide

GaryHiggins Midas M32 is under 10 year warranty, a dealer can't just arbitrarily shorten it by 7 years. You should still be covered till 2026! I would start the ping pong myself. Call them and be VERY insistent. Better yet MAYBE use the support link above and create a repair ticket.

I have an m32c and am using it with a dl32 and x32 and a sd8. I am wondering how to get the level control for the monitor out on the m32c for que wedge on the master fader. When i select that option in the monitor tab it doesn't do anything. When I use that same function on the x32 it works. I think this a question for Paul Vannatto

      DavidKnighton Hello davep54,
I'm not 100% certain, but check the MONITOR LEVEL setting. Even if using the Mains fader, the monitor level needs to be up because the output still passes through that setting. On the actual mixers, there is a dedicated analog control for this, but since the M32C has no dedicated control, you must use the control in the EDIT window.

    • davep54
davep54 Yep Already did that and it does change the level out of the monitor out but when I click on use master fader it doesnt do anything, makes no difference when I try to control volume from master fader. the only control I have of the monitor output is the actual monitor level control. I'm using this console to run monitors for a festival and would like to not have to open another screen just to control my Q wedge level. and since my x32 can do this why cant M32C. same system but I'm sure i'm just missing that one button as always when something dosent work.

Paul_Vannatto Sorry Dave. I had a recording session with a church group and just got home. I believe that "Use Master Fader" setting changes only the physical console master fader, such as on an X32/M32 that has physical faders, not applicable for the M32C, X32 Core or X32 Rack.

davep54 Thanks for the thoughts. Kinda sucks I was pretty sure this time I didn't miss anything. I just find it hard to believe that it is that way.

    Hi!
A bought a F24 and everything was working and it connect to Midas FW Control Panel.
When I came home in my studio to set it up I get "No device found". Tried different macs but no luck. Then I see that i have put the FW cable upside down. Cant believe that it ´s possible to do without force and how a could do that. Google it and found out that I probable have burned the FW board :( Have u heard about this situation before? Last Monday I contacted Support/Spear part and ask if u got a new FW board that I can install, have received a support ticket but no answer yet, how long is it usually take?
Really hope u can help me cos right now i`m really sad and angry at myself.
    Best Regards

    tried 2 other cables.

    on routing dl1-16 shows up.

On mixer solid red light on screen. Blink red light on dl-16

tried several cables....and A& B side.... same results

Paul_Vannatto What mode is the DL16 set to? If the SN Master light is lit, that means that it is set to be the master clock along with the M32. Change the mode so that only the M32 is the master clock.

Hi everyone, I need some guidance.

I work for a church that is buying a broadcast van for live streaming of services. They want to use MADI to feed the truck the inputs.

    Gear

S32 , M32 Monitor Console (Fed from S32 AES50-A), P16's (fed from Mon), FOH Console (Fed from Mon via AES50-b port)

The main hub of the set-up is the Monitor console as it takes the 24 inputs from the S32 via AES50-A and shares it with the FOH console via AES50-B. I also have P16's being fed from the MON console via AES50-A. I also have 6 LOCAL inputs into the FOH console.

How do I get all inputs (24 from stage + 6 local FOH inputs) to a broadcast van VIA MADI? I know I will need a madi card, I'm assuming it will just be in the MON console as thats the central I/O for the set-up

Both Monitor/Foh consoles are physcially close to eachother so it is possible to plug in those 6 FOH inputs into the Mon console but I'd have to patch them back to the FOH console.

I'm not sure if all the spliting and virtual patching is possible.

    Please advise.

Paul_Vannatto Yes it can be done. I would suggest that you install the Madi card into the FOH console, since the routing is much simpler to the Madi card. On the Routing, Card screen assign AES50 B1-8, 9-16, 17-24 to the first 3 banks of 8 and Local 1-8 for the 4th bank of 8 (assuming you are using the first 6 Local inputs).

I have a show coming up in a couple weeks and istead of sourcing a x32, would it be possible for me to use my MR18 as a bridge to run more inputs via cat5 in m32 edit.

The band is flying in with a x32 rack for a monitor console and would be sending me (FOH) all sources via cat5.

Would be mixing on my computer from the MR18

    Thanks in advance for feedback.

    To whom it may concern,

we are currently working in three different environments. First rehearsalroom has an x32 Producer with two S16 connected, second environment is our studio with M32R and two DL16 connected and a third environment with a M32C (pretty new) and one or two DL16 connected for smaller events or accoustic sets. We use cues, scenes and snippets widely to control the key settings of our Mixers and the effects used during a gig.

Now I recognized that it is a problem to name the cues on our M32c. Each time when we load a cue-sheet from usb-drive and do some modifications using M32-Edit Software (macOS) the Name of the cue will be automatically adjusted to

    M32C_YYYY-MM-DD_HHhmm.nnn.<snc|snp|shw>

The internal name of the cue will be changed to M32C even when we change the name using M32-Edit. Our name will allways be ovwerwritten during the next export of the show.

Naming of the show is important to us because we document our adustments and create shownames containing serial numbers to  be able to fall back to older "releases" of our cofiguration if necessary. Each time when using M32C we have to do this manually. This means renaming all files and adusting the internal name of the show using

    sed -i 's/M32C/<nameOftheShow>-<serialNumber>/g' <nameOfTheshowfile>.shw

Do you know any workarounds for this - let me call it a feature?

    Best regards

    Matthias

Paul_Vannatto Hi Matthias, before exporting the show from the M32C (or any M32/X32 for that matter), make sure to name the show (bottom right corner of the Cues screen in M32-Edit). If that is left blank, then the console will use a generic filename (and show name in the first line of the .shw file).

As an alternative, have you tried the Show Manager app that I have developed?
      https://sourceforge.net/projects/m32x32showmanager/
It provides an alternative GUI to create and modify shows.

      knaepp Hi Paul,

thank you for your answer. That was the way we already tried it. We set the name of the show in the bottom right corner. The export the usb stick is only possible on the M32C edit using the "one knob". After choosing "Export Show" the name of the show will be M32C...something -like I told you before. There is no option to do this via M32-Edit. The name of the showfile will always be adusted and the name of the show is M32c.
I know your showmanager, thank you for sharing it. Most members of our band are not familar with tools like this (some of them even do not really understand the show-concept).
My expectation is that a stored name would not be adjusted by the console.

BTW: we use firmware 4.06 and M32-Eit 4.3
      Best regards

Paul_Vannatto Thanks Matthias for your response. Until just recently, the M32C and X32 Core had issues exporting anything and that was fixed as part of one of the firmware updates. Evidently this is a bug. I will pass it on to the developers. In the meantime I would suggest you make the necessary changes using the M32C and export the affected scenes and/or snippets (either using the Export to USB stick) or using the dual nature of M32-Edit, then merge these scenes/snippets into the current show using either M32-Edit or Show Manager.

    • knaepp
      knaepp Hi Paul,
I just checked again showmanager. May be we have a misunderstanding. We do not use the showfile from usb-stick, we always import the entire show to our consoles. Changes from one scene/show/snippet to the next will be done using midi. Because of that all changes will be done affecting the scenes and snippet files on the console.
After finishing a gig or rehearsal we - again -export the show to the usb stick. This export destroys the name of the show and the name of all files - even when we set the show-name using M32-Edit.

I hope this was not too confusing.

I am trying to use my M32 for FOH and going to DL32 Port A and Port B of DL32 to Port A on X32 for monitors. I can't get local outputs to work on the X32.

    • Gordimus
Paul_Vannatto If you mean by "local outputs" as the XLR outputs on the back of the X32, you would assign those (in banks of 4) on the Routing, XLR Out screen.

      • May 27
    • Gordimus
Paul_Vannatto Typically the individual outputs are assigned on the Routing, Outputs 1-16, such as the buses 1-8, etc. Then those banks of 4 are assigned to the XLR Out (eg. Outputs 1-4 -> Out 1-4, Outputs 5-8 -> Out 5-8, etc.)
