We have an older Behringer X32 Rack Mixer with a USB Interface Card.  This card works fine with the older original X-UF USB Driver Version 6.13 downloaded to my Windows 10 based Lenovo Laptop in both Input/Output directions.  If I try to load this older driver onto a Legion Windows 11 Laptop (Containing our Internet Streaming Software), it will get caught in a loop during the install ("Plug in USB cable and Power up the Mixer") and not finalize.  If I try the two newer USB Drivers (X-USB Audio Driver Versions 4.59 or 5.12.0) downloaded from Behringer's Website to Windows 11, the audio level is fine from the Laptop output to the Behringer Mixer.  However, audio level from the Behringer mixer to the Laptop is very low (Only 1-2% volume with everything maxed out.)  I have not yet tried the two newer drivers on my Windows 10 computer but expect that they will work OK.  We are only 1 level back on X32 Firmware (4.05) noticing that a new revision has recently become available. (4.06) Release notes say nothing about this problem nor have anything to do with how we are using with our mixer.

We have been using a Ham Radio version (Signalink USB) of the more widely known Focusrite USB Interface which has been working great for the past 22 months of the pandemic.  That external USB Interface works great with both Windows 10 and 11 and has protected us from Ground loop issues when the streaming laptop was being operated a fair distance away from the mixer.

It looks like we either need an updated driver for Windows 11 if Behringer can provide this or we may need to backlevel our Internet Streaming computer to Windows 10 to get around this problem.  We are trying to eliminate the external XLR cables, Signalink, etc. as our streaming laptop is now local to the X32 Rack cabinet. (Run by Remote Desktop over WiFi)

Has anyone else had issues with Windows 11 relative to these Behringer X32 Rack USB Audio drivers?

Paul_Vannatto The X-UF card hasn't been supported for over 8 years and the X-USB drivers are for the X-USB card, not the X-UF card. I would suggest you replace the X-UF card with either a new X-USB or the newer model X-Live card and install the appropriate USB drivers. Another option is to switch to linux which does not need ASIO drivers, since it is built in.

Thanks for your reply Paul. I did more experimentation this afternoon and found that Microsoft Windows 10 & 11 were both installing their own USB Audio driver on top of Behringer's. This was discovered by moving the USB cable to an open port which generated a pop-up indicating this was happening. I un-installed the Behringer drivers, cleared the nonfunctioning MS driver, rebooted and let Microsoft Windows take over reinstalling their USB Audio Driver.. It works great now in both directions. You are correct, we have an X-USB Card even though earlier the old X-UF USB driver was working fine on Windows 10 until I tried to update it to one of the newer drivers. Then everything fell apart similar to what I was experiencing on the Windows 11 computer. Hope this experience helps somebody else with an older X32 Rack mixer.

Suddenly I can't get a connection between the X32 compact and the S16.

The display Port A flashes from time to time, but there is no signal, neither in nor out.

    I performed a factory reset .....

But in the routing the display shows Port A: no device

Sample rate: 48 kHz on both devices, 44.1 kHz on both devices.

    Nothing brings anything.
what should I do, Garntie has already expired

    Do you have a tip?

Does the XR18 also have priority inputs? a autoducking functie that's other inputs channels mutes when a signal come on here.

Paul_Vannatto Yes it does. It depends on how you are going to use it. If it is for a panel discussion with a moderator, the Automix function (available on channels 1-16) works great by enabling on one of 2 groups and applying the weight (priority) of each channel. If it is for live music, automix does not work very well. Instead, use the channel gate as a ducker and setup the sidechain key source to the channel that is to trigger the ducking.

B2020 Thanks. It is for a emergancy call. This must mute the music inputs.

B2020 I'm not shure yet. For clarification, Two audiosources and an wireless microfoon are connected tot this mixer. We also link a 0dB signal from another public adress system. When there is a call from this public adress system, the other inputs of the XR18 must be muted. Please can you tell me what the most easy solution is??

Paul_Vannatto On the two audiosources channels and the wireless mic channel, you want to go to the Gate screen, change to Ducker, then on the right side, enable the sidechain Filter and set the key source to the channel of the public address system.

Hi. I have a collection of 5 X32 RACKs with X-Live cards that we use for 24/7 looping audio playback from sessions on X-Live SD cards. The problem is that the X32 stops outputting X-Live audio after an undetermined number of hours. When the problem occurs, the OSC events coming from the X32 related to recorder status indicate that it is still playing. In X32-Edit's Recorder > Live Recorder screen, the PLAY button will lit up (as expected when playing back) and the animated tape reels spin but the overall playback timer shows all zeros and the progress bar and positional numbers are empty. Playback can only be resumed by power cycling the X32. (We've tried using the physical controls and remote OSC or X32-Edit stop/play combinations with no luck.)

    Background:

The looping session playback is accomplished using a custom script which subscribes to card-related playback state info every 9 seconds. If the recorder state is stopped, the script sends a play request. It goes like that all day and all night. Until "the problem" occurs.

The mixers are all running firmware v3.12. The X-Live cards are all running firmware A12.

Is this a known issue? Does anyone see a flaw in how we are communicating with the X32 (subscribe regularly, listen and react when required)? Any suggestions would be appreciated. At this point, as a band-aid, I'm thinking scheduling power cycles in the middle of the night might be the only way to address this issue but I'd love to have a more official means of solving this issue.

    Thanks in advance.

Paul_Vannatto Hi Nathan, there were some issues (at one point) with the X-Live dropping recordings, but has been corrected. I would suggest you update your firmware to the current one (4.03). Make sure you backup your scenes, snippets and presets first.

I am using the X32 + X-USB as audio interface to a Mac + Logic Pro, and I want to record the MIDI coming out of a Roland TD3 drum module (ie together with triggered drums basically a MIDI instrument).

But I am stumped trying to connect the TD3 to the X32, it seems the MIDI in jack is just for receiving control signals and not for transmitting MIDI thru. And there is no MIDI in on the X-USB. Anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this? Do I split the USB jack on the X-USB and send MIDI in to the card and then send the signal onwards to the Mac via the same USB socket?

DaveMorrison The (USB) MIDI signal from the X-USB card can't be send to the MIDI DIN jacks. You have to use and external USB to MIDI interface. I wish they would implement this function. It's available on the X-Air series of mixers though.

Maroliboe ...is it possible having a X32-Live card installed??

DaveMorrison I think it the same with any of the 3 USB cards (maybe all cards). I wish they would add that feature in upcoming firmware.

Maroliboe In the english product information document of the DN32-LIVE (not the DN32-USB) the card is described as a Audio/Midi Interface. So ist it possible with this LIVE card to send Midi from USB via the Midi ports to external Synthesizers?

DaveMorrison Yes you can send MIDI data to and from the M32 with that card and it's useful for changing scenes/ snippets and some basic automation. And we should be allowed to forward that data to the MIDI DIN jacks. But I don't think I does. And I definitely wouldn't trust the Marketing Department. Let's ask Paul V.'s opinion. He knows this stufand may be able to explain why it's not possible.

Paul_Vannatto I already answered Maroliboe's question in one of his (multiple) posts. Here is my answer and explanation:

The answer is no. The DN32-Live (as well as the X32-Live) card does not have a midi interface. The console itself has a midi interface that is designed to be used in conjunction with a midi device to control the console (mutes, faders, etc.) only. You are misinterpreting that line in the document. My read is that the DN32-Live expands the recording capability along with the USB Audio (and MIDI interface - for control).
