Is it possible to plug a midi controller into the midi in port and pass notes to my PC for driving a virtual instrument?  Reading the manual implies that midi is only used for remote control and internal functions.

    Hi,

I’m not sure about how correctly using my UMC204HD interface with my my electric guitar (passive pickups).

Of course, i’ve plugged it in through the usual 6,3 jack and I set the Inst mode.

But I noticed when I don’t use the pad button, the guitar signal is so high that I need to set the gain to 0. And even so, the signal gets clipped. Is it supposed to behave that way with an electric guitar with passive pickups?

So, it seems the only way for me is to use the pad button with a 50% gain. I’m suprised so.

    Regards,

Hello, I am hearing very faintly the click track which is on channel 15 on the mains. It's barely there but it's there. I've connected my mackbook/ipad/pc everything using numerous programs logic, cubase, prime multitrack also using 1/8 to two 1/4 and USB... I've checked the routing/bus output LR it's turned off on all busses, fx turned down, reset, everything I could think of.

The strange thing is that if I lower the channel on the busses bleed goes away.

Right now I have a the ducker running so it can mask off the sound and lowered the gains so I can barely hear it but again it's there. When I run click there's nothing happening on the main meter so that control does nothing. Volume goes up and down depending on how loud it is on the individual channel on the busses.

Paul_Vannatto In all likelyhood, you have a parallel signal path somewhere. I would suggest that you export your scene to a file, save to the cloud (eg. Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) and post a shareable link in your next post. That way we can have a look and better advise.

Paul_Vannatto I had a look at your scene and do not see any parallel signal path or any Main LR enabled incorrectly. I did see that the click also goes to the card (to computer DAW?) and Aux 1/2 is assigned the card 1/2 returns. But that is muted and faders all the way down. The only other possibility is that one or more of the mics might be picking it up from the floor wedges.

I absolutely love the Behringer Monopoly, but sadly its missing the built in step sequencer other Behringer synths have.

If connected via midi, could I use the keys of the Monopoly to program the step sequencer of a Behringer Crave (including cords), then use the step sequencer of the Crave to let the Monopoly play?

If the step sequencer of the Behringer Crave is not able to save cords, would the step sequencer of a Behringer Poly D be able to do the job?

Just got a new SX3242FX, and when I went to test a wireless microphone, I receive a signal on all ends and the audio is outputted. However, the main/ master volume level meter is stuck on full volume, nothing seems to change a thing at all. Any suggestions?

Nigel67 Hi warand1542. Was it like this as soon as you received the mixer? The problem is only the meters not the audio, you can control the levels? With only the power supply plugged in and the faders, send pots turned all the way down, do all the master meter LEDs still show all on? If so, then there is a fault with the meter circuitry and I would advise that if the console is brand new (less than 30 days old) you contact the shop you purchased it from and ask for a DOA replacement. If it is over 30 days old, then still contact them and they will repair the mixer for you.

I am very happy with my Deepmind 6. I have a question about tuning and calibration. I have slight detuning on my C and F notes which cannot be fixed using global tuning settings. It actually sounds completely normal until one matches the pitch with software VSTs (e.g. DIVA). The drift (so-to-speak) is not enough to cause alarms and has a charming analog character - which is what I paid for :)

DCOs are however more stable than VCOs and the manual advises against calibration (except after firmware upgrades or recommendations from Behringer engineers).

Open to any advice on whether I should try and run voice calibration?

First off, Sweetwater has been extremely helpful trying to solve some issues that would have been very easy to figure out if this console had a user manual. Behringer has 6 videos (yes only 6) YouTube videos posted as of 11.30.21 to help but I'm sorry, a user manual is a MUST.
I am a over 40 yr audio pro who has used nearly every console analog & digital that has ever been released, I am not a hobbyist or part time audio engineer.... I do this everyday for my whole life and I know how to figure out gear, but its ridiculous that they would not even have the respect to sell you a highly technical piece of gear without a well written manual.

I know that these days so many companies are updating their software regularly but this is no excuse not to provide a manual all along the way.
This is a very capable and somewhat complicated console that does NOT come with a normal console setup that most people are used to.
I feel very sorry for the people who bought this board that have been lost in the use of it and I wouldn't be surprised if they sent it back.

All that being said, the console sounds excellent and has some great features but I would not recommend it to anyone who does not have the time & patients to spend trying to deal with all its features.
Its a shame that they would release something with this much investment in the technology and software just to have it never taken seriously - because they never took it seriously and released a complete product.

The iPad app is not complete and pales in comparison to the x32..... you can't even use the app without a console online (so no setting up a show unless you have the console with you)
There is no PC or Mac app yet (but you can get the scenes & presets off the board by mounting the wing drive on your computer and dragging them off)

How can I take a product seriously when you don't sell a finished product.
Sending your customers to a forum full of people of unknown background & knowledge to get info on how to use your product is just plain lame and shameful for a company to do.

You have some amazing products but this oversight is deadly to a product.

GaryHiggins I won’t disagree with a desire to have a manual BUT it will be outdated as soon as it’s published and unless continually updated, which will never happen, not much more help than what is already available and somewhat (in some cases very) dated. Here is a list of things I made back in July. Pretty doubtful you will ever see a manual imo. Maybe some of the following are helpful. I can’t be sure if all of them are still available but fwiw:

KlausMock Videos are funny, sometimes helpful, most of the time boring and for sure time consuming. Call me old guy but I am used to use manuals to find quick the answer I need. Thar‘s not possible with videos. Videos are no reference documentation and online communities are too no replacement for manuals. The WING is a great product but should be documented. Yamaha and Allen&Heath are regulary updating the reference manuals each time they release a new feature firmware. Imho a company like Music Tribe, which sells a lot more units like, let‘s say Allen&Heath, should be able to hire some writer to keep the manuals up to date.

GaryHiggins Look guys, I was only trying to help with the available info business, not defend a lack of a manual. Nonetheless you won't be seeing a manual anytime soon. I hope I'm wrong. If anyone remembers the X/M32 version it was really not all that great and not that easy to find answers. It was hard to read, imo badly organized and quickly outdated with new features and firmware. The x32 wiki became the only reliable source of any extended and updated info, supported by end users. Nearly 2 years into Wing life without a manual is a pretty good indicator of it never happening. Again not defending the lack of it. But it looks like the only other option is people like us sharing what we know in places like this. I remember and enjoyed the days when you would get a large manual or binder with easy to read print to endlessly mull over. I also miss that. Those days are pretty much gone for most products, at least that's been my experience.

Paul_Vannatto I agree with all of you that a Wing User Manual would be wonderful. The X32 User Manual is what sold me on the X32 (back in 2012). But I do believe that Gary is correct that it is very doubtful that the Wing will be getting a full manual (from what I've been told) - unless someone (like Patrick) takes it on as a project. Patrick has not only documented the X32 OSC protocol, but has also documented the Wing's OSC and native protocols.

The X32 wiki was a great idea. But all of the editors lost their logins when they switched the forums to the "new fangled" interface, and no one in the company knows how to get them back. So the wiki is now dead in the water.

What other company sells a digital mixing console without a manual?..... if you use the reasoning that features change regularly, that would insinuate that they are deleting the core functions of the console???..... FAR FROM TRUE! Features are added and an 1-2 page addendum would accompany any new features. Avid has been updating their software for decades and still have a main user manual with every new release....... Please stop talking yourselves into this insanity that users & YouTubers will provide the info for a piece of technical equipment. There are a few terms in the save/load functions that don't make sense..... is "Config" like my other consoles where it recalls the board configurations? Then there's the Configuration block...... well of course after a hour of trial & error we can try to make sense of what the heck they are recalling, or you could just tell us in a manual...... its insulting not to have provided one... PERIOD.

      • Wing Console - you must be joking....
KevinMaxwell I really wish that there were manuals available for more things but your question “What other company sells a digital mixing console without a manual?” prompted me to search on some manufactures website for a manual. I at the moment am concentrating on mixers somewhere near the cost of the WING and a bit more if easily found.

I can find a QSG (Quick Start Guide) for the WING.

I looked at A&H, Soundcraft, Yamaha and the S series Digico and I was surprised. I so far can’t find another manufacturer that doesn’t have some sort of owner’s manual. I am not saying they are or aren’t well written but I have read a few over the years that were either written by the people that program the firmware and those can be confusing especially to a beginner because the programmer knows how the system works so well that they often forget to include some basic information. Or they were written by someone who has never done sound, they are just a writer and they can be really confusing. Most of them are so badly written I get bored trying to read them. I find if I am going to read the manual it works best for me to have the device right there in front of me as I read the manual. So I can try and see how it actually works.

A well written (available on line) manual would really be nice to have. Or at least get that Wiki available again. As much as I like to have a printed manual in front of me I am not for wasting that much paper. And because of all of the firmware updates a digital version is probably the best to have so you don’t have to keep on looking thru the separate printed updates. I have come to really liking the ability to search a digital copy.

KlausMock Sad to read some comments, from Gary and Paul, that it seems that Behringer is not interested in writing a full documentation. This is something I would expect from some guys working in a backyard booth but not from someone who is a big player in de MI. Thats really a shame. Especially because Uli Behringer is well known that he delivers good manuals in the beginnings in germany. But there is another guy in germany who started a documentation project for the WING at https://wing-docs.com/ Don‘t get me wrong, I love the WING and the X32. But I think we love them more as the manufacturer of it.

I have an X2442 and am recording church services for online. is there a way I can send the subs to the USB instead of the FOH mix?

    0 4
    • kenaxe
Nigel67 Hi kenaxe. Unfortunately the only audio that can be sent to the USB is the Main Mix outputs. Are you using all 8 subgroups? Can you not use a pair of subgroups as your main mix (say sub group 1+2), send what was your sub group 1+2 to the main mix and then if you want the other pair of sub mixes (3 +4) to go to the USB as well, then you press the Left and Right to Mix buttons on them. If you were using the XLR outputs for the main mix, then you will have to swap them over to 1/4" jacks. The only problem you will have, is if you want to play back from the USB to the FOH Mix, then you can't as the outputs to FOH will no longer be plugged in to the main mix outputs.

I bought a UMC1820 audio interface. I tried to install all 3 drivers from the download page.

Nothing works, windows keep saying "USB device unknown"

I use win7 pro, i installed the drivers with anti virus turned off.

The support from Behringer does not react on tickets.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Nigel67 Hi Radu01234. I just checked your tickets that you submitted and can see two. The first that you submitted (CAS-504993-Z6J1P4) was answered on the 30/11. Please can you check your Spam/Junk boxes as the reply may have ended up in there. If you cannot find it, please let me know and I will get my colleague to send it again. It may be that your firewall is rejected the e-mail address [email protected], so if you could change your settings and allow this then he can try sending you the e-mail again. I see you submitted a second case, but your firewall may again reject this if the original e-mail is not in your spam/junk. Please advise. Many thanks
