Hello I recently purchased a Bugera V5 amp which sounds great but I didn't realize until later that you also offer the T5 which is just the head and not the combo like the V5.  My question is are the V5 and the T5 tonally the same amp?  Is the T5 essentially voiced the same as the V5 with more eq options just minus the speaker?  Are they voiced differently?

Also the speaker output says 4ohm minimum so I am assuming that 2 12" speakers wired in parallel will be fine for either the V5 or T5?

    thank you

I just received a secondhand V22 Infinium. It sounds great, but the FedEx guys taped bubblewrap directly to the amp and it left some adhesive residue.  Is it safe to use Goo Gone on the Tolex? Is there a better option?

Nigel Turner Whatever you use, I would suggest that you try the cleaner on an area that is hidden or least visible. No matter what you use, it could react with the material. I found a video of a guy who cleans up his tolex but the substance he uses may not be strong enough to remove the tape. https://www.google.com/search?q=tolex&rlz=1C1GCEA_enGB815GB815&oq=tolex&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l7.1662j1j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#kpvalbx=_J18qX_3bL-qp1fAP4OyamAQ3
Isopropyl alcohol may also be worth looking at to clean the Tolex but again try a spot out of sight first of all.

    Hello,

I have a Bugera G5 (that I love) and I also have a Boss MS-3. I followed the instruction in how to make the MS-3 switch channels on an amp. The MS-3 switches another amp I have, but on the G5... uh that's a different story. It seems it switches the channels at times, and sometimes it doesn't. I bought the amp used, so I don't have the manual. I tried pushing the channel button and that doesn't seem to work. Can anyone help me out with this, please?

William Reichling Hello Joe, If you are using the Boss MS3, be sure you are using a TRS cable on the CTL out.

Joe Rojas Yes, I am using a TRS cable. That's how the amp switching works on my other amp. And I did plug the TRS cable into the CTRL 1/2 Out. And from the CTRL 1/2 Out to the Footswitch in of the amp.

William Reichling Hello Joe, It appears the Boss MS3 may not support dual button footswitch function. So using a mono 1/4 inch cable should give you the ability to switch from clean to overdrive but not turn the reverb on and off.

Good day! So I own a Bugera G5 amp head and absolutely love it. A couple days ago it started losing power or something to that nature. My emulated output does work as well as the send/return. I've changed both tubes now... Not sure what to do at this point... The distortion, loss of power only happens at the amplifier output to the speaker. I've checked my speaker, cables and tired other guitars.  The infinium LED for the tubes sometimes lights up even at a low wattage and even though I've put in new tubes. I give up and need help. Please help!

I'm looking to purchase 2 new cabinets for this amp. I always biamp so 1 cabinet to channel A and 1 cabinet to channel B through the crossover.  My question is what should be my Ohm rating per cabinet? 2 x 8 ohm cabinets or 2 x 4 ohm cabinets? And what should be the minimum wattage of each cabinet?

Please help, as I only want to buy once and cry once!

    Joe

Dave Morrison Minimum impedance is 2Ω/channel. You could run a cabinet with two 4Ω drivers in each cab. You can safely run a cab with two 8Ω drivers; it just won't be as loud. If you run at full volume at 2Ω, you theoretically need a cab rated a 2000W.

JL1103 Just for clarity, when Bugera states 2x1950w/2 ohms, In the owners manual, you divide the wattage by the number of cabinets? If this is correct, 2x1380/4 ohms would mean 2 x 8 ohm cabinets at 700 watts each should cover the amps out put?

Dave Morrison The manual is not so clear, probably because it's a muddy subject. Perception of power is tricky. If you have a 100W amp and want it twice as loud, you need 400W. Amps are also measured using sine waves from test instruments. Since the power output of your amp is dependent not only on the amp's gain, but also your input signal. The way you play affects the power you produce. Rating cabinets is difficult because of the unknown factors: how was the amp measured, and the "quality" of the input signal. A distorted signal (Fuzz and overdrive) has more "energy" than a clean signal.
If you are a clean player and don't play a full volume, then 700W ought to be fine. You could probably use a vintage Fender Bassman. If you push it to the max, you could "toast" nearly anything.

Hello! So I have had a Bugera G5 for a few months now, it's been a great amp. But a about a month ago it started crackling and losing power out of the amplified output going to a Park 4x12 8ohm, but the Emulated output does work. Changed the ECC83 power tube but no change in the amplified output. Not sure what's going on, or if It has to do with the 12BH7A but it seems to be healthy. The crackling and loss of power only happens the amplifier output. Any Ideas?

Is it possible to assign one of the buttons on the switch 3 to the guitar boost feature?
    0 3
    • Celestin
Leah D Hey Celestin! You can definitely do this. Here's some information from the device manual:

"Guitar Boost is also available by mapping the MIX button to a footswitch. This acts as a +6dB level increase for solos and the like. The MIX button is lit white when boost is ON and unlit when boost is OFF."

Check out page 13 of the User Manual for more info on assigning parameters to the Switch-3:

Hi there I have a bugera 333 head and the effects loop won’t work. I connected a electro harmonic tone tattoo pedal through it and I get no sound any idea on how to fix?
    0 4
    • JayEli
William Reichling Hello Jay Eli, I'm assuming that if you are hooking the tattoo pedal to the effects loop that you are trying to bypass the preamp section of your 333 head altogether. If this is the case, you want to go from the out of the tattoo pedal, into the effects return of your 333 head. Also, be sure to set the input level of the return with the level knob on the back of the amp. In this scenario, you will be bypassing all of the tone controls on the front end of the amp and getting all of your tone from the tattoo pedal. Since this is a distortion pedal, you would usually plug it into the amp's front end. You don't want to plug it into the send and return of the effects loop; It would not sound terrific.

Hello, my name is Gustavo, I am from Argentina. Yesterday I bought a Bugera G5 Infinium valve head. It has an 8ohms output and says next to that output "minimal". This means that I can connect a 16ohms speaker and I will not have any kind of problem? Thank you!!

William Reichling You should be able to run 16 ohm cabs with the 8 ohm load. As long as the cab is higher or the same, you should be fine.
