Was hoping you could help me with my Mic Mechanic. Something seems to have gone wrong during the firmware update process. Now, the pedal doesn't work and VoiceSupport2 doesn't recognise it as a TCH device.

    Please advise. Thanks!

I can't find where to read dca values acurately on x-32 rack screen.

Did I missed something? Any idea?

      DavidKnighton Hello adok,
Since DCAs are not physical channels, you cannot view them on the screen itself. The way to do it is to use the channel select and channel level encoders on the left side of the front panel.

      • how to read dca values on x-32 rack screen?
adok Thanx, David. But I already know this. My goal is adding 1dBb to a DCA, and channel level button display is not that accurate. Around 3 dB, which is a no go in my case. DCA is the only thing I can't read accurately in the screen. Could be good in a new firmware release.

      DavidKnighton Hello CentenaryDave,
Click the SUPPORT tab at the top of the page and submit a SPARE PARTS inquiry. You might also be able to something comparable on Amazon or eBay, as they are a very common aerial device for electronics.

      DavidKnighton Hello gabriele1971,
The short answer is no, the input is designed to take signal from an instrument, such as a keyboard, guitar, drum machine, etc. A microphone signal will be too weak and the INST input does not have enough gain to boost the mic to a useable level.

    Hi there,

I have owned a Venice 32F for over six years and have it running on a Windows 7 (32 bit) system with a Sinux FWB3414G firewire PCI-e card. It has been working like a charm since day one.

I have now put together a new PC because the old one is on its way out. It has a Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) system and I got a new fire wire PCI-e card by Star-Tech (2 Port PCI Express FireWire Card - PCIe 1394a FireWire Adapter).

I installed the drivers, the card is being recognised by Windows but when I fire up my Venice it is not recognised (I have installed the drivers for the Midas console).

I then tried my old firfewire PCI-e card (Sinux) and it does recognise the console but when I started REAPER the first time and set the sound device to the Midas console Windows popped up a blue window with an error code and restarted Windows.

I tried it a few more times also with another audio program and the PC would just restart.

    1. Does anyone know what could be the issue? (Start Tech had drivers to install, Sinux had no drivers to install).

    2. Can anyone recommend a firewire card they know is working with Windows 10 (ideally available in Australia)

    Cheers, RLND

Nigel67 Hi RLND, I think your problem is more to do with the driver. Unfortunately Midas support for the Venice F ceased a number of years ago now and there was never a driver released for Windows 10. There are many posts on forums asking if anyone has made the Windows 7 driver work successfully with Windows 10. The only time that I have seen a person answer with a successful outcome was this one, however I have never had anyone else verify it. The post went as follows; 'Downloaded the Win 7 driver. Then right click the .exe file and switch compatibility to Win 7 so now the driver runs in Win 10, thinking its Win 7'. I hope this works for you. If not, then I can only suggest that you search on the internet to see if you can find someone else who has managed to get the driver working. Many thanks

RLND ... I tried your tip with the Star-Tech card and it recognises now the console, however, when I start Reaper and switch to ASIO Midas the same scenario happens - blue screen and PC restarts. Meanwhile I read on another forum that there is a difference with different chip sets on firewire cards re Win 10 - some work with Win 10 and some don't. I'll do some further research. Cheers, Roland

Without increasing the gain on a given channel, is there a way to get a hotter signal leaving the BUS that is currently running my subwoofers? Yes, I am aware of both the main BUS fader and channel BUS fader, just wondering if there is a deeper setting to allow for greater output.

This BUS is used for subs, which are exclusively being used for KICK DRUM, so trying to avoid turning up the GAIN on the kick drum mic to avoid feedback.

    Thanks in advance

Dale_M Hi there, you could try to compress the signal to improve its quality and consistency but really once it leaves the console it is at the mercy of the amplification the other side.

I just purchased this mixer for Zoom online lessons. What I discovered after the set up, is when I connect the microphone and the headphones, when i connect on Zoom, either I can listen to my student or myself, but not both of us together. There has to be a  way where I can hear both of us in headphones, it should be so simple but I could not find it. Anyone who knows a way around it? The audio inputs and outputs in Zoom are USB AUDIO CODEC.

RexBeckett Hi mvsounds, there is a way around this. Connect both 2-Track Out to 2-Track In with a pair of short RCA/RCA cables. Press the USB/2TR To Phones/CTRL Rm button. Now you should hear both Zoom sound and your local mix through the Phones output. You may need to use the PC's output level control to adjust the mix.

    Hey all,

Had an issue come up with my S32 where the phantom power stopped working on all the channels when I updated my x32 compact to firmware 4.06. Went back to 4.04 and I still have the issue. I figured the S32 may need either a firmware update or a hard reset. I was unable to find anything online that discussed hard reseting the S32 and when I attempted to update the firmware, nothing seemed to happen and now I am unable to connect to it at all. Wondering if there is a way to factory reset the S32? Or do I need something more now that I may have interrupted an update? Also, is there even update instructions online anywhere? I found the text in the firmware folder to be very vague and not informative when it came to running the software as admin. I did that on the s32 and it seemed to do nothing. Are you supposed to actually log in as an admin or something in windows?

Any help here would be awesome as I have a show friday that we need the digital snake to work in our IEM rack. Also, sorry if this should be obvious and I'm just missing it!

    Thanks y'all!

Nigel67 Hi. Our Knowledge Base has instructions for upgrading the S16/DL16 and the S32 is very similar. I have put the link below. The only difference is that the computer should recognise the S32 when you switch it on, there is no button to press on the unit to put it in an upgrade mode. Instead of typing in the S16 software .exe file you will be typing in s32update_1-8.exe. If you have any questions regarding the procedure when you have read the instructions, please come back to me. You need to be using a USB 2 connector or a USB 3 than is USB 2 compatible and I would advise not using a USB hub but plugging straight into your computer.

GaryHiggins This is from DL32, same process, the update file is also the same

      Update Process:
      1. Download and unpack the updater zip file from midasconsoles.com on your Windows PC
      2. While the DL32 is switched off, connect its USB port to your PC using a standard USB cable (type A -- type B)
      3. Upon powering up, the DL32 will detect the USB connection and wait for the update
      4. Make sure you have started your Windows session with Administrator access, then start the DL32update_1-8.exe
      5. The terminal window will inform you about the update progress. Wait approximately 1 min until it shows completed
      6. Disconnect the USB link and switch the DL32 power off / on

Thank you both! Nigel, I appreciate the portion on the command prompt! Also the USB hub portion was helpful as well!

    Hi

I'm looking at getting a set of studio earphones for home recording with my Uphoria UMC404HD interface. I believe the 250 ohm version of the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro's are quite good but they require suitable power (usually via an amp) to get the best audio levels.

When running the UMC404HD interface from the mains power supply (i.e. not just powered via usb from my laptop) does anyone know if it can provide enough power for 250 ohm headphones?

    Thanks in advance.
    Donald

Not to long ago I did a favor for a friend overseas in Korea and let him use a set of my B212A powered speakers. They don't work now. When he sent them back he told me that they accidentally got plugged into a 220volt outlet. I have opened the back couldn't find any char marks, checked the fuses. I can't seemed to find what's wrong with them. Any ideas.
