I'm going to search the forum for the answer. But in the meantime, maybe someone can suggest the best way to run my subs on an aux or mono out. There are 8 outputs the back. 2 are for mains, the other 6 should be monitors. Leaving nothing for the mono send to subs.
The fullsized mixer had 16 outs, leaving plenty for monitors.

    Thoughts?

Darin Does this seam like the right answer? Seems more complicated than it should to me.

      CraigFowler Use only 5 monitors?

Routing>Aux out and run the subs off TRS?

Use a stagebox connected via AES50 and run the subs of that?

Darin I do use only 5 mon mixes usually. But I want the option for 6 when needed.

CraigFowler Yep. Routing>Aux out. Set an output to M\C, Post fader.

Keep in mind that on the Rack the TRS outputs have -5dB less headroom compared to the XLR outs (16dBu vs 21 dBu.) The M32 consoles are far more sensible and have their TRS at XLR outs both at +21dBu, but alas that's not the case with the X32.

It might be worth going Setup>Config and setting the "M\C depends on MainLR" option on. That way you can control the level of subs+tops using the LR fader, and use the M\C master fader to control the offset between them.

I am the proud owner of a VL3X but I need to be able to control my guitar VOLUME during gigs. Will this expression pedal I just purchased work?

    Moog ACCEP003 EP3 Expression Pedal

If so, how do I set it up to work with VL3X? I've looked and can't find the video.

I also need to be able to easily make and control set lists. Is anybody using Setlist Maker with a Kindle? What is the best way to interface with the VL3X?

bentstavanger I don't know that particular pedal, but just plug it in and see if it works. You might have to calibrate it via the Setup menu.

For controlling the volume, my experience is that it's best to select the amp post gain as target for the expression pedal. The full movement range of the pedal is utilized, and the volume goes from max to completely muted. I have my expression pedal set up differently for each preset, but if you always need it to control the volume, you can set it to global (in the Setup menu, I believe).

About a month a go i bought a ditto looper , and it has already stopped working. it records the loop and plays it back but while i am recording it cuts the signal and i cant hear what i am playing.  this is extremely frustrating as i recently paid time for a space to record and the loop was going to be an integral part of my set up and sound. ive wasted alot of money because of this ?

Nigel67 Hi Jeremy, I am sorry to hear of your issue. If your unit is 30 days or less old, please contact the shop that you purchased it from and ask for a DOA replacement. Even if it is a couple of days over, it may be worth contacting them and seeing if they will exchange it. If over 30 days, then it will have to come in for repair. To do this you will need to send in a ticket to our Service Department. This can be done by clicking on the support tab at the top of the page. A new window will open. Scroll down and click on the Service tab and submit a ticket. A colleague will then get back to you with an RMA number and advise the local service centre to you.

I've had a TC Konnekt 48 a while now and apart from having to send it back once under warranty when it failed. Its been pretty stable. I use OSX and now upgraded to latest Yosemity. I didn't even check before had that it may not be compatible with Yosemity but luckily Beta drivers were available and I can still use it.

One thing that has been bugging me though is the majority of it's main marketed (view the product page on the web site) functionality is the onboard DSP for compression, reverb etc which can be utilised as a plug in on the DAW. Now I have checked on the publicised marketing material. And no-where does it state it does NOT work on a MAC 64 bit system such as Logic X. Here's what the minimum tech spec is quoted as being.

    Minimum system requirements

    Mac OSX 10.4.9 or later
    • PowerPC (1 GHz or faster) or Intel CPU
    • 512 MB RAM
    • FireWire (IEEE 1394) port*
    • OS X 10.4.9 or later

My Macbook Pro far exceeds this but I can't use the quoted marketed features.

It may be an oversight or maybe something is in the pipeline to get this bit of hardware and its DSP plug-ins working on MAC 64bit. But basically you are currently advertising a product that does not work on a current MAC as advertised.

Please put my mind at rest ..

Will there be 64bit versions of the DSP plugins for the Mac.

After all you are still selling this as a current product.

    Thanks

tacman7 I always just used the effects for monitoring.

It can do one or the other, plugs or monitoring.

Did you used to use the plugins?

Can you do VST fx on a mac?

tobyshark It is an interesting point - if the product is discontinued and no 64 bit update is going to emerge for the plugins, it would be a good idea to say on the product page of the website: discontinued.

I'd rather have 64bit VSTs though

tacman7 It's got 64 bit drivers for the interface right?

When you use the effects in monitor mode you could record them from some of the wet inputs.

It would be 64bit processing I think.

But that's not like being able to use it like vst effects.

I gave up any 32bit plugs when I went to 64bits

My X32 Compact only has 8 XLR outs, but I have an SD8 attached to AES A

On the X32 edit, the output 1-16 page has outs 9*-16* starred as unavailable. Is there an easy way to enable these additional outs to show up here? I would prefer not use Ultranet for this (if possible) as I need it for other things !

The XLR Output TAB only has 8 physical outs available (rightly so, as there are only 8 XLR physical outs on this console)

    Thank you

      Paul_Vannatto Hi Yanni,

Just ignore those (stupid) asterisks. All it is saying is that you don't have the additional physical XLR outputs on the back of the console. You can still use these outputs to stage the 8 channels in preparation for the bank of 8 assignment on the AES50 A screen.

      YanniFyssas Thanks Paul,

I fumbled around enough to manage to

      1) Assing on the AES50A/B page, Out 1-8 >>> AES 9-16 and Out 9-16 >>> AES A 9-16

Then i realized in the Output 1-16 page all the routing then worked as expected for OUTS 9-16.

Is that the right way to go?

      Paul_Vannatto Hi Yanni,

If you want the first 8 outputs to go to the back of the X32 Compact and the second 8 outputs to go to the SD8 (switch on side set to 1-8), then it would be as follows.

      Routing, AES50 A/B screen

      * AES50-A 1-8 -> Out 9-16

      Routing, XLR Outputs screen

      * Outputs 1-4 -> Out 1-4

      * Outputs 5-8 -> Out 5-8

    Hello,

I wonder if it is possible to demagentize the pick-ups of a guitar when using tone-print via iPhone.

    Anybody has an idea?

stratomano Nobody has an idea ?

How does Tone print works via iPhone thru the Pick-ups of a guitar ? Magnetic field ?

      Sincerely.
      • April 6, 2015
    • stratomano
Maxsys My understanding is it works by sound, don't see how it could demagnetize a pickup.

    • stratomano
      stratomano Yeah, that's my question.

From their Homepage:"...and wirelessly beam the TonePrint via your pickup...." Okay, but how does it works?

If it works by sound, it should be no problem.

If it works with electromagnetic fields it is a problem.

I couldn't find any Information. Maybe witchcraft

coolwind The sound is played by the smartphone. It is a digital transmission, like with old modems. It is actually an mp3 recording of the digital transmission, you can play it with any sound player like you would do with any mp3.

The sound arrives in the pedal, and it is decoded.

The sound can arrive in the pedal also through an ordinary microphone, like the one for voice.

I tested picking the sound from the smartphone with a shure 58, no problems.

I am not sure how do the pickups catch the sound from the smartphone.

Either the sound can be picked by the pickups (which I ignored) or the sound is making the strings vibrating, or most probably something else is resonating.

    • stratomano
Mystic38 there is zero chance that the pickups could become demagnetised..what on earth gave you that idea?..

The toneprint info transmits as others have said as sound, just like a fax machine transmitting over the telephone ..it is a modem.................

    Hope you audio-Jedi's can help.

I have a Roland V-Drum module that has midi in/out. There are some incredible VST drum plugins that I'm curious to use.

I have the XR18 connected via USB to Macbook pro running Logic X. I have the vdrum module connected to the XR18 via Midi cables.

Will the XR18 pass the midi info from the Vdrums to Logic via the USB cable? Which settings in the SETUP tab to I need to enable?

    Thanks in advance.

Roblof Yes, it’s possible. I’ve done it a couple of times and it has worked great.

Just make sure that ‘usb/din pass thru’ is enabled (and the rest is disabled so that the brain and daw doesn’t case the mixer to behave erratic due to conflicting midi messages).

I have owned a Behringer Xenyx 502 for a few years now and I recently took it out after over a year of no use. But when I trying plugging in a MIC there is no audio. So I tried uping the Level and trim and its just white noise with a hint of MIC. I have tried 2 Samson stage mics and 1 MXL V67G. Plus 7 different cables. Any help as to why this is started happening?

      Paul_Vannatto Hi Michael,

Welcome to the forum. You might need to turn on the phantom power, especially for the MXL V67G, which is a large condenser mic (very nice one, if I may add).

:edit: Btw, I deleted the other identical post, since it was a duplicate.

      SeanFairchild Dear Michael,

I think Paul's onto something there. However, although the 502 provides phantom power through its MIC input, it's not a full 48V for high consumption condenser mics. If your mic has a power supply or you have an alternate method of achieving high phantom power levels for those mics, I would recommend trying that to see if the power is the issue. Of course, if you have any dynamic mics you can test the 502 with, that will be a surefire test - if those sound just fine and the condenser mics don't, it's likely a power issue.

      SeanFairchild Dear Micheal,

Well, shoot. In that case, it's time for CARE. If you've had the mixer for a few years, it may not be under warranty anymore, but either way our CARE team might be able to at least steer you in the right direction or give you some options. You can reach them at [email protected] or call at 1-702-800-8290 (US number). Good luck!

Does the footswitch I use for my effects on my Xenyx 1204usb fx need to be latching or non-latching? The manual says a standard foot switch .
