    Hello,

    I would like to configure the M32 on FOH, with M32 C for monitors whith 2 DL16 on stage.

    The best would be to have the outputs of the DL16 whit 13/14/15/16 for the LR and Matrixes and the others outputs for monitoring the musicians.

    We tried a configuration and the only one who works give me the LR on the M32 in FOH that is not so cool.

    If anyone has an idea it would be so great, i'm lost for the moment.

    Excuse my english ... I'm french

      Hello Christophe, welcome to the community.

      What you want should be possible. The easist configuration would be:

      M32 AES50-B <-> AES50-A M32C AES50-B <-> AES50-A DL16(1) AES50-B <-> AES50-A DL16(2)

      In the M32C: Route the 32 AES50-B inputs to AES50-A for the M32. Take M32 outputs from AES50-A and route to AES50-B 13-16. Route local monitor mixes to AES50-B 1-12. Routing in blocks of four is possible with the User Out patching in firmware V4.02.

      In the M32: Take inputs 1-32 from AES50-B. Route required outputs to AES50-B.

      We can help with routing if you need it. It would be easiest if you save both of your console scenes and attach the .scn files to your posts. See Choose File button below.

    Dear Music Tribe Community,

    I would love to see a revival of the 8 and 16 track reel-to-reel tape machines but with modern features, which would fit in a modern studio environment. There are old reel-to-reel recorders like Fostex E8, E16 and Tascam msr-16 .etc, most of them requires horrible hardware to calibrate and repair. Some has even midi expansions like Fostex mtc-1, which is also horrible.

    Lots of end-users don’t want to get into the above legacy hardware due to the maintain mentioned above, but love the sound of tape recording and is therefore using “PC plugins” to get it, which is a shame in my opinion

    I cannot mention any companies nowadays who dared to pull the trigger on a modern analogue multi-track reel-to-reel recorder.

    Note:

    You can buy new tape for reel-to-reel machines at Thomann nowadays.

    Hi,
    I have to make some video footage as interludes for them I need to also use the woman's voice, not wanting to depend on anyone for reasons of time, I thought about buying a tool that could change your voice from male to female, I don't claim a perfect voice but at least believable.
    A salesman advised me to buy the TC-HELICON TOUCH2, which also has an exaggerated price for my use.
    I am trying to learn to use it well, but so far from what I've seen the female voice that I can get is definitely not real, it's usually too much style "Donald Duck" and slightly metallic.

    Are there any presets that give me a voice for women closer to reality than what I got?

    The salesman told me that there would be no problems in transforming a voice from male to female in decent way so I hope that your product is the right one.

    I thank all those who help me to solve this problem.

    (sorry for my bad english)

      It might help if you use the preset #177 (Male2Female) and adjust carefully the gender parameter.

      Best regards

    Hi, A couple of questions - I just got this interface. I just had a couple of questions, it kind of feels like I am missing a mixer portion of the software or something.

    1. When I am monitoring a mic input, the sound is only in one side. It seems to be RH for channel 1, LH for channel 2, etc

    2. The mono button doesn't do anything. I would expect it to make whatever you are listening to mono.

    3. The a/b monitor button doesn't do anything I have speakers plugged in to "B" and my main speakers plugged into the "Main" in the back, which doesn't seem to be A or B. I have also tried plugging the speakers into the A plugs. The sound comes out of the speakers plugged into B - but when you press the A/B button, it doesn't shut off.

    Is there software I am missing (like a mixer)? I did download and install the drivers from the behringer site.

    Thanks!

      Michael_Lapke Hi Tim, welcome to the forum!

      Glad you picked up one of these up, such a handy and portable little interface. I can tell you that the UMC404HD itself is just meant to get signal to your computer for recording/playback purposes, not really for use as a "mixer" per se. I'll take a crack a answering your questions and try to clarify why you're experiencing what you are:

      Tim Monaghan;128071 wrote:

      That's exactly how the unit is designed to work. When monitoring on headpones, inputs 1 and 3 come through on the left side, while inputs 2 and 4 come through on the right side, given the STEREO/MONO button is set to STEREO. When in MONO, all inputs will be summed to mono and fed to both left and right sides of your headphones.

      Tim Monaghan;128071 wrote:

      The STEREO/MONO button works, but it only applies specifically to the headphone output. The MAIN LR and Playback outputs aren't affected by this switch. Engaging the STEREO/MONO switch also allows you to hear the input signals coming into your headphones on both sides, just remember that the signals in your headphones are being summed to MONO when doing it this way.

      Tim Monaghan;128071 wrote:

      As mentioned in the QSG product documentation (pg. 24), this A/B Playback monitoring switch also only applies to the headphone output. Playback monitor A (1/2) I believe by default mirrors the Main LR output unless assigned otherwise in your recording.playback software, while Playback B (3/4) will need to have it's audio source assigned in your audio recording/playback software. Pressing the A/B switch doesn't stop audio from playing on either playback audio output, it just selects which source you are going to hear in the headphone output. This is handy when trying to A/B two different playback audio sources.

      Hope this helps clarify things for you!

      TimMonaghan Ahh, ok that all makes sense! Thanks a million. I understand that it's not a mixer, I guess I was thinking:

      1. Most interfaces I have used don't make use of a mono / stereo setup (like that anyway)

      2. I was thinking the mono stereo button would make the mix mono in the speakers, since this is a common (aka Big Knob type) function, used for mixing.

      3. I thought this was a (again Big Knob style) monitor swap button, for monitoring in diff speakers.

      Cool, thanks for the quick reply! Although not what I expected, these features will get used!

      By the way the preamps on this sound really nice.

      Cheers

      Is there any way to turn off this mirror from the Main Out to Playback A (1/2) ?

      I'm using Reaper, and need 4 independent outputs.

      Excuse my English, I'm Brazilian, and there's little information about the equipment around here.

      No worries Gabriel, you should in fact be able to assign another audio source for that playback output within Reaper (or any other compatible DAW) just like you would with the Playback B (3/4) outputs. The Playback A output only mirrors the Main LR output if you've assigned nothing else to it within your DAW.

      Hope this helps!

    Hi! I really would like to know how works internally the processing of guitar and voice layers in the VL3.

    It has a DSP for each? If not, I wonder if the guitar layer affects performance on the voice layer somehow. Perhaps a preset with the whole guitar layer off will improve the performance on the voice layer in some way? (at least in regard to latency)

    In its day I collected information about DSP models included in most guitar processors, from the POD 2.0 to Fractal AXE II (including kemper, Helix, etc) but I have not found information on processors governing VL3.

    Of course I could open the machine, but if anyone knows, I'd appreciate it.

      EdSaxman The VL3 series wears a Freescale’s ARM i.MX283 as core processor and a Symphony DSP56720 24-bit Dual-Core.

      It seems to be the same DSP included in the Kemper Profiler Amp (200Mhz per core, running at an equivalent of 400 MHz speed)

      I have tried setting the Guitar FX as global, so the entire guitar layer is OFF. Then you can assing functions from the voice layer and remap it completely as a secondary voice pedalboard. Useful to set tap tempo, 1 button looper, and so on. And the settings will be global as well, as it is defined in the guitar FS assingments.

      I think if there is a single DSP, this should improve processor performance on the voice layer somehow, but someone could confirm it?

      I do not understand what is the meaning of this support forum if you do not respond to the buyers of your machines.

      Hey Ed, nice job on the homework

      I asked one of my colleagues about your theory, he replied "And no, AFAIK, turning off guitar FX don't do nuttin' for the vocals DSP-wise." What kind of performance boost in the vocal signal are you hoping for exactly?

    I am going to buy an Akai 25 key MPK midi controller and because I'm on a Linux system I was wondering if I could adjust all parameters of the controller from Tracktion 7 (e.g. assign samples to a drum pad).

    Hi experts! This is just a thought experiment. But is there some MIDI device that can be customized to send certain PC and/or CC Messages if a different PC message is received? For example if you choose the patch A02 the G-System will send either PC=3 or a customizable PC (On Map). Let's say there are two external FX that have to be MIDI-controlled by the G-System at the same time, one of which (1st) can handle many PC messages and the other (2nd) can only interpret PC=1 and PC=2 for status On and Off. To be able to fully control both external devices by hitting only one button on the G-System you would need a device that can receive the original PC message from the 1st external FX's MIDI Through and translate it ad libitum to PC=1 or PC=2 as needed for the 2nd FX.

    MIDI IN PC = 1 --> MIDI OUT PC = 2
    MIDI IN PC = 2 --> MIDI OUT PC = 2
    MIDI IN PC = 3 --> MIDI OUT PC = 1
    MIDI IN PC = 4 --> MIDI OUT PC = 2
    MIDI IN PC = 5 --> MIDI OUT PC = 1
    MIDI IN PC = 6 --> MIDI OUT PC = 1
    ...

    Does something like this exist? If yes, what's the best google search term for it?

    Hello Forum,
    I have just made up a small pedal board with a Polytune mini, Mad Professor Sweet Honey Overdrive, Flashback Delay & Hall of Fame Reverb. The only other pedal I want is a Tremolo. Any plans for TC to do one in the same format as the toneprint pedals? I know there is the vibrato but I specifically want a trem. I have been very impressed with the reverb & delay, well done chaps.
    Thanks

      darkwave I have the Flashback Delay and am really happy with it. I was never really a delay user but this pedal has gotten me to use the effect more often (mainly as a slap-back, but I plan to use the looper quit a bit as well). I'm also seriously looking at the Spark Booster and Shaker Vibrato now.

      But what I really want is a good Tremolo option. I'd be plenty pleased if it was a Toneprint for the Shaker, but a separate pedal would be an option as well. Seriously - I've heard a lot of people mention that a tremolo was a great opportunity for this line and I'd love to see it be a reality.

      Please? Soon?

    Hi! I love my VL3X! It's so fun. However, it's not reliable because just the other night it would not go past the blue screen when I was setting up for a show. It won't turn on sometimes. All I get is a blue screen. Sweetwater has already replaced it once and now this will be my second unit.

    Craig or anyone else, do you have any suggestions? I really want to use this in my performances, but I'm not feeling confident enough to rely on it.

    I've tried unplugging all the cables except for power. I've even tried powering it with my Pedaltrain Volto (12VDC), to eliminate the chance that it is my power supply. I have run it successfully with the Pedal Train Volto before without any problems. I have tried pressing the button inside the headphone jack while booting up.

    Sorry if this question is posted elsewhere. All I could find was the "white screen" problem for the VL3 non-extreme. Please direct me there if needed.

    Please help! I really want to keep using this piece of equipment

    Thanks!

      TCH-Spencer Hey Mart,

      Can you please describe the specs of your power supply? The VL3 needs a 12V 1000mA (1.0A) supply. If you're giving it less power than that it will affect performance. Do you still have the included stock power supply to test with?

      If it really isn't the power supply's fault then I would reccomend submitting a ticket to our support guys: http://support.tcelectronic.com/requests/new

      Thanks for your response Spencer! I do have the original power supply and it was not working.

      For the past week my unit has not been powering up. Just a blue screen with no words or anything.

      Sweetwater was kind enough to send me a 2nd replacement today. I am now on my 3rd unit. I powered on my old unit today just to see if it would work and it did. Weird. I'm sending it back regardless as I know for sure the unit was not powering up for the past week.

      The reason I posted on this forum is because I thought it might be good for anyone else who has come across this problem with the VL3X.

      Thanks again for your response Spencer. I will submit a ticket to the link you provided

      I would agree! Most guitarists who also want to use their own amps and pedals would have the Electric first in the chain so that the unit can track the chords as best as possible from the guitar. Therefore, I am surprised that not more of the typical early-in-the-chain effects are included: eq, phaser, octaver, auto-wah, etc.
