Does anyone have tried starting overdub at the end of current loop when the pedal is in serial mode?

I set the switches in up up down up

But overdub in current loop while it is playing (in green) always start immediately. It's not something like I could do in sync mode which overdub will start at the end of the loop.

Trying to update to Firmware 1.05.
    Win 10 Home
Model D first comes up as USB Device not recognized.
    Delete device.
    Power off and on
Comes up as Model D in Audio devices.
    Start Update
    Model D Connected.
    Click Start
    Wait about a minute.
    Update Failed.

I have tried 'Run as Administrator'.

I have installed the .Net 2.0 as listed in directions, because I did get the Model D not connected error.

Roblof I’m trying to get some more info about this, but there might be an issue updating the firmware using win10 on some computers and could possibly be fixed by the v1.05 firmware.

Can you try with another computer?

PiotrDresler Hi. I also have the issue with firmware update from 1.0.3 to 1.05. I get message "Firmware Update Failed! Please restart Model D and try again". See attached screenshots. I am able to start the Updater and connect to my Model D unit. Things go wrong when I click on Start Update button.

I tried on two different PCs, two different USB cables, Windows 7 and 10 and I always get the same result. After I get "Failed" message the Updater freezes.

      Any ideas what might be wrong?model D upgrade 2.jpgmodel D upgrade 1.jpg

If someone has a good acoustic setup regarding reverb, delay, chorus and so on.... post your settings here.

Also what is the best way to connect VL3 and setting it up for live acoustic use with guitar and microphone?

I can't offer much help on the acoustic settings since I run my resonators through a fishman pedal first, so nothing there will be much use.

When I'm playing shows just vocal and an acoustic guitar I use the Dual Mono output setting. One XLR sends my mic to the board, one XLR sends the guitar. Easy.

      With an Ovation acoustic guitar, through a Behringer XAir mixer, into a Wharfdale powered speaker, 12" and a horn. This sounds good;

Ovation onboard eq all set flat, mixer with a lo-cut filter and other eq flat, PA speaker eq flat.

      Speaker Sim = off

      Amp = Bodyrez 3, pregain -9, postgain 12

      low post = 0, mid post = 0, high post = 0

      low pre = 0, mid pre = -7, high pre = -12

      low f pre = 104, mid f pre = 311, high f pre = 1016

low BW pre = 1.00, mid BW pre = 0.87, high BW pre = 2.04

      mode = transistor, amp sag = 4

      lo boost = 0, mid boost = 0, high boost = 0

      lo f post = 101, mid f post = 104, hi f post = 10540

lo BW post = 2.04, mid BW post = narrow, hi BW post = 3.09

      spkr gain = 0, spkr FC = 20480, spkr BW = 0.56, locate FC = 50

I have a BH250 that's only a couple of weeks old and has been working fine. Took it to gig and the TonePrint was on and I had no control over it. It's been like that ever since. I tried loading a new TonePrint but it had no effect. Has anyone else had this problem? I've already contacted the retailer about returning it, but was wondering if someone had a fix. Thanks!

LowClass The firmware update is for the BG250 and does not apply to the BH250 according to TC. If someone knows different let me know.

Hi all, my Neutron Synth is connected via USB to my Macbook Pro (OS High Sierra) and I am using Ableton Live 10 as a DAW. Today I updated the Firmware of the Synth to version 2.0.0 (update was shown as "completed" and I was asked to turn the synth off and on). I also downloaded the Neutron App/Editor but it's not connecting to the Synth. When clicking on the USB symbol on top right corner, it's showing an error "Neutron not connected". The connection seems to work though as Ableton is finding the Neutron as a USB (Midi) device. Anyone having the same issues? Thanks.

Yes, here as well: Neutron can't be found through app AND updater.

I tried OSX High Sierra and Win10. Not working.

In Ableton the instrument is found and usable, though...

GregBaker I've installed the app and downloaded the firmware updater. Tried launching the updater with the Neutron on and turning on the Neutron once the app is running. Regardless, the updater can't find the firmware. If there are any other steps to take, I'm not aware of them. There seem to be no instructions. Sure would like to use that fancy new app!

AndyButler I think Roman has the answer.

If the Neutron can be found by the updater, it can't be found by anything else.

Actually, I found that Plogue Bidule could find the Neutron after the driver for firmware update had been installed (and worked!), but got an error from the driver.

Once you've got the update done it *seems* you need to completely remove the update drivers before you can use the Neutron again.

i.e. find usb drivers for Neutron in Device Manager and remove with the 'delete files' option.

Some folks have missed that there's a drop down menu 'Midi Connection' in the App where you need to select Neutron for in & out.

Apologies if this has been posted; if so, I overlooked it.

On my Neutron (pre and post 2.0 firmware) a ton of noise/distortion enters the oscillators when the LFO shape knob is turned all the way clockwise. Backing off just a bit causes the issue to go away. For me, this is not the biggest issue, as I don't want my LFO to blend between shapes (at the moment, anyway), but I know some people will want it too, while still being able to get all the way to the right for the pure Saw located in that position.

    • BrandonDorris
      AndyButler Hi Brandon,

I haven't heard of this either.

So you're saying the oscillators get noisy even if the LFO isn't patched to them?

I'd suggest you describe what you're getting in more detail. There are existing issues of small amount of noise on the oscillators which sometimes depend on LFO knob position.

Just got my Play Electric and it's fantastic... hard to believe what it does is even possible, really.

Is there a place where one can download other harmony styles and new presets?

Is there an editor that allows the user to design his own harmonies? I'm looking to achieve the sort of harmonies one hears on the old prison/chain-gang acapella work songs. I realize the Play Electric is limited to just two voices, but I'm hoping it's possible to come close.

The Wayward Son preset does an excellent job of making it sound like more than two added voices, that's for sure! Maybe one of the existing harmony styles can already get close to what I want -- any suggestions?

    Great product!

ChrisF You need to download VoiceSupport here to manage your presets. I don't think there's a harmony editor.

    • MartyVega

Thanks for the reply. I just downloaded the software, haven't installed it yet because there's no information included-- will this install on a Windows XP system?

Also is there no way to manage the presets inside the Play Electric itself? I'd like to rearrange my Favorites to work with our set list -- but it looks like moving a preset to a slot erases the preset at that slot?

That can't be right, can it?
      • September 14, 2015
    • MartyVega
ChrisF First off, read the manual. I don't mean that in a snotty way, but it's well-written and answers a lot of your questions.

You can save a preset on an empty slot using the VLPE itself. You can save them in the order you want to match your setlist.
      • September 14, 2015
    • MartyVega
ChrisF Then you can tag your presets as Favorite and recall them using the Genre button and choosing Favorite

I always read the manual. Always. The problem is, this manual doesn't give a lot of information. All I can find on moving presets is this passage:

"Storing a preset to another location

To save the current preset to a different preset

slot (location), press the store button once, then press the right Blue soft Button and use the

control knob to select the destination number for the preset. Press store again to complete the

(I didn't need the manual to figure this out, as this part was quite intuitve, like most of the Play Electrics features).

Here are the questions I need answered:

Does moving a preset to a new location ERASE/OVERWRITE the preset at the destination number? (If so, moving presets is useless)

      And more importantly,

How do I change the ORDER of presets within the Favorites genre?

This is essential for using the unit for a live performance, obviously. The manual seems to indicate that this might be possible, but doesn't tell how to do it.

I'm just trying to confirm something about the Improved Input Section.

    Knowledgebase says:
"Any (silver) G-System with a GFX-01 unit having a serial number higher than 6539340 has the redesigned 3rd generation input section from the black G-System iB Modified."

    MY SERIAL IS: 6541012

So based on this, I've the redesigned 3rd Generation input section from the BLACK G Sytem iB Modified. I just want to make sure because that makes me pretty darn happy.

    I'm I understanding this correctly?

Morgs I have just returned to the G-System after giving up on my 1st generation unit in 2009 and going back to my G-Major. I spent hours tying to configer it and was in constant contact with Laird Williams for advice but just couldn't get a decent tone from it. I bought the 3rd generation unit with the agreement from the dealer that I could return it if it still sounded as bad the my first unit. I can't believe the difference between the two, the new unit sounds great!

This post is mainly feedback for the TC team, but some of all you readers may also find this useful. I have read some threads where Nova users have complained that the in-built tuner cannot be used for drop tunings. It gets lost anywhere below the low E.

The same is unfortunately true for the Octave effect. I returned my Nova because of this shortcoming. I have tried every well known Octave pedal on the market. My favourite is the BOSS OC2 because the sub octave sounds so natural. The tracking is not as good as the Nova, but it can handle drop tunings.

The Nova Octave Effect tracks so much better than anything else I have tried and and also sounds very natural. If only it could track dropped notes, the Nova would be the best by far in this respect.

On another note, the only other slight failing where it comes to the Nova is the Overdrive and Distortion sounds. The TC team could really do with having a look at the best valve Overdrive and Distortion pedals on the market in order to compete a bit better in this area. I would suggest that the Damage Control Womanizer and Demonizer, the Carl Martin Plexitone, and the Blasckstar HT-Dual and HT-Metal have far superior overdrive and distortion sounds.

Apart from these two gripes, the Nova was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately the Octave issue ruled it out for me personally. Bring on Nova System v2!! Come on TC guys, fix these issues!! Cheers!!
