    Suddenly the M air edit program will not open with my pc.  I am using a midas MR18.  The program has worked flawlessly until now.

    It opens on my laptop, my ipad, my Xair controller works.  I updated the firmware (using my laptop)  still does not work

    The window opens for maybe 2 seconds and then closes.

      Paul_Vannatto If you are using Windows as your OS, go to the C:/Users/username/AppsData/Roaming (replace username for your user name) and delete the M-Air-Edit folder. Then load M-Air Edit app.

    Hi all,

    Thank you so much for the efficient help I've found here.

    Here is another question I have for you.

    In order to get the XAir 12 connected to a computer as an USB entry of a DAW (Garageband on MacBook Pro), I have added this Behringer box UMC202HD, connected as shown in the attached picture.

    When I play 1 chord on my guitar, XAIR Edit shows a signal level of -30 db on the main LR output.

    The signal I get as a result in Garageband is all the way right on the red clipping zone.

    I have a ton of ways to get this signal to the right level, and this is my problem; from thebeginning to the end :

    - reduce the volume on the guitar (at the max right now to reduce the noise and parasites)

    - reduce the gain in XAIR Edit (at +20 right now because when all the faders are at 0, this is the best balance between all the devices connected to the XR12 - mic, others guitars)

    - reduce the fader of the channel in XAIR Edit (at 0 right now)

    - reduce the fader of the main output in XAIR Edit (at 0 right now)

    - reduce the volume of the output channels on the UMC202

    - reduce the volume of the main output on the UMC202

    - switch from line to instrument on the UMC202 (no effect anayway)

    - push the pad switwh on the UMC202

    - reduce the entry level of the channel in Garageband (at -5db right now)

    - reduce the volume of the master track in Garageband (at -5db right now)

    - a combination of the aboves

    Sorry for this long post. Thank you for reading.

      DavidKnighton Hi Saleya. What you need to know here is that the UMC is adding a 2nd preamp stage before the signal hits your DAW. This means the level is getting boosted from the mixer initially, but then on it's way out, it's getting boosted again, which is typically not a good thing. Setting the UMC to Line Level will allow the signal to pass through relatively unchanged, however you still have some control over level using the knobs. I recommend putting your level knobs all the way counter clockwise to begin with and let the mixer set the level. Then if you need more input to your DAW, you can boost the level knobs a bit, but try not to rely on them too much.

    Is there a way to save the Clock Source setting on the Global page with a Scene save?  We have different scenes that require diffenent Clock Source settings between Internal, AES50A and AES50B.

    0 56
    • CrossWindsTech
      Paul_Vannatto The clock source cannot be saved as part of a scene. But it can be added to a snippet using a text editor. Here are the 2 snippets.

      #4.0# "X32 Slave A" 0 0 0 0 1
      /-prefs/clocksource AES50A
      /-prefs/haflags %0100

      #4.0# "X32 Slave B" 0 0 0 0 1
      /-prefs/clocksource AES50B
      /-prefs/haflags %1000

      Save these as X32SlaveA.snp and XX32SlaveB.snp respectively and import into the snippet list on the X32. If you want to join the snippet to a scene, create a cue and add both scene and snippet on the same line.

    I am using a Midas 32R. Input 9 seems to be the only working channel when I plug in an SM58. The other working channels are wireless recivers programmed into Inputs 1 and 2.

      GaryHiggins Perhaps you can post your scene/setup using Dropbox or similar, or explain your routing with a bit more detail.

      DavidKnighton Hello Elsa Obenza,
      As Gary suggests, if you could drop your current scene in a share folder and provide the link here, then we can investigate any potential routing errors. With the variety of routing options for the M32 consoles, there's a number of ways you can get tripped up if you're not familiar with how to look for them. You can start by checking the HOME/INPUTS tab in ROUTING menu. The LOCAL inputs will be from the rear of the console. AES50 inputs will be from a stage box.

    Hi MusicTribe Community,
    Hope you are doing well ?

    I have a specific question about the Behringer Wing and the DL155. Is it compatible or not ?
    I would like to add more AES3 inputs because there is only one AES3 IN/OUT available at the rear of the desk.
    If I connect a Midas DL155 to the Behringer Wing, will it work for 8 more AES3 IN/OUT ?

    At the end, I would like to use this workflow:
    One Midas M32
    One Behringer Wing
    One DL155 for the Behringer Wing
    One DL32 and One DL16 connected both to the mixer desk Behringer Wing and Midas M32 ( Sharing the same Input and Output with the AES 50 port )

    Thank you for your reply
    All the best

      Paul_Vannatto Hi Sebastien, yes the DL155 should work with the Wing if set to 48K clock rate. One note, the Wing actually has 2 AES3 IN and Out. Each AES3 jacks provide 2 channels. The DL155 has 4 IN and 4 OUT jacks, each providing 2 channels.

        Can you tell me wich ports in XLR Jack are in AES 3 ?
        I can only see 8 analog input and one XLR AES 3 input.

      • Behringer Wing With DL155
        Paul_Vannatto You mean on the Wing? Yes it has 1 AES3 In (XLR-F) and 1 AES3 Out (XLR-M) jack. Each AES3 jack transfers (input or output) 2 digital signals. Similar the DL155 has 4 AES3 In (XLR-F) and 4 AES3 Out (XLR-M) jack providing 8 In and 8 out digital signals.

    Hello..

    I have my monitor bus set for my vox, the backing tracks, the other singer, and my guitar. The mix is set to my taste; but, as the all-in-one performer and soundman I need to hear how our mains mix is doing now and then.

    Is there a way to do this with the least hassle? Can I can keep my monitor send as-is, and just make one or two small adjustments on my iPad via "X32-Mix" to put the mains in my IEMs?

    Thanks in advance.

      Paul_Vannatto Change the assignment of the outputs to your IEM from the mixbus pair to the Main LR. Without seeing your scene file, I would hazzard a guess that the change will probably be on the Routing, Out 1-16 screen.

      • Monitor The Mains From Stage w/X32 Rack
        BobbySadler Thank you Paul.. over the years you've been a great resource of knowledge.. I rolled up my sleeves and I think I came up with a good solution using the Preset tab in the Routing pages.
        • July 28, 2020
    • BobbySadler
      BobbySadler I think I came up with a solution within X32-Mix:

      Go to Routing Tab and Create Preset for the Normal Monitoring Setup
      Give it a Name
      Go to LR buss Sends and Send to Matrix 1 (I chose 0 dB)
      Go to back to Routing Tab and Set my Monitor Output to Matrix 1
      Create another Preset w/Name to indicate monitoring the Mains

      now it should be as simple as pulling up the Routing Tab on X32-Mix and go to the Presets Tab and and switch presets to either my regular monitoring setup or the monitoring the mains setup.

      I will set this to solved; but feel free to comment and make suggestions.

      Cheers and stay healthy!

    Hi Music Tribe community,
    Hope you are doing well ?

    I've got a question about to connect in chain a Midas DL32 & Dl16 with a Behringer Wing and a Midas M32 ?
    I would like to share my whole patch ( DL32 + DL16 ) with my two desks ( Wing and M32 )
    Is it possible to do like the picture but using the AES50 port B of the DL16 to connect to the Wing ?

    Thank you very much for your anser.

      Paul_Vannatto Hi Sebastien, no, the DL16 AES50 B port is used for cascading stageboxes only. Do no use it to connect an M32 (it won't work the way you expect). If you are planning on using the Wing for FOH and the M32 for monitors and the M32, DL32 and DL16 will be located on stage, then the best way to do the interconnecting is the following ([A] and [B] are AES50 ports):

      Wing FOH [A, B or C] <-> [A] M32 [B] <-> [A] DL32 [B] <-> [A] DL16

      On the M32, Routing, AES50 A screen, assign the following (to transfer the inputs of the stageboxes to the Wing):
      Outputs 1-8 -> AES50 A1-8
      Outputs 9-16 -> AES50 A9-16
      Outputs 17-24 -> AES50 A17-24
      Outputs 25-32 -> AES50 A25-32
      Outputs 33-40 -> AES50 A33-40
      Outputs 41-48 -> AES50 A41-48

        Paul_Vannatto You are welcome. One addition piece of info, if you plan on the FOH (Wing) to control the stagebox preamps (gain and phantom), you will need to relinquish preamp control on the M32 (in Setup, Preamps screen, enable the HA Remote AES50 Port A). This will transfer preamp control to the Wing.

    Could anyone provide me with the size of screws that should be in a new X32 Compact shown in the picture provided? New mixer right out of the box was missing these two screws. Need to resolve this issue ASAP and I will go out and buy the right size of screws, just need to know what they are.

    I have an M32C with a DL32 with a split snake always connected in the rack.  I had my vocalist over to play back the last gig to enhance his sounds of his IEM's because he just bought new molds.  We all run in stereo and It's weird, I all of a sudden can't get Bus 3 to respond to fader moves. I moved him to Bus 11 and it works fine.  Fader moves appear on screen but audibly makes no difference in Bus 3.  Can someone please review my attached scene to see what is possibly wrong?

    We use this setup for FOH with our IEMS and also when a venue has their own PA system we use this rack with our split snake just for IEMS only.  Should I have a different scene for each use case?  Meaning a differnt pre/post settings?

    If anyone sees anything else I should be doing on this scene to improve our experience it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Danny K

    I am trying to locate the part number of the M32 fader. Is it the PRO FADER 200MM - 000-AHW00-00010? Thank you in advance.

      Dale_M Hi, not the PRO fader is for PRO1/2/2c/3/6/9/X only the M32 has a bracket built in as it is screwed from under the panel rather than through the top. The part number is Q03-B3I00-00000 this can be purchased as a Spare Part from the support tab.
