    I have a Pro 2/DL231 issue.

The system setup is: FoH Pro2 and a monitor Pro 2. The FoH P2 is connected to the AES50 A X port and the Monitor board is connected via the AES50 B X port.

The Problem: I just did a firmware update on the entire system and it all updated without a problem. However, the monitor board is having issues with the DLs. Please see the attached picture.  It is still passing audio even with this issue but the red status light is keeping me up at night knowing this system has to be used in two days...

Maybe the firmware changed some DL Settings?

    Thanks!

Nigel67 Hi Adam. i think that I replied to you on one of the Forums that you posted on. It looks as though you have set up the DL231 to be controlled on the A mic amps, however if you look at the unconfigured they appear to be set up for the B mic amps. If your FOH is working correctly, then it could be a setting on the Mon console. As a quick check, if you go to the Home - Preferences - General page on your console, and at the top of the page in the middle will be your Microphone A or B option. Select B and see if the DL231 then go green. If they do, then the setting was incorrect. If they stay red, then get back to me and we can look further into the problem.

Nigel67 After an update, everything will reset itself to default and the default is the Mic A control.

DavidKnighton I believe this gentleman submitted a CARE ticket and we came to the conclusion that his monitor desk was set to Mic A Inputs. Switched to B inputs and all is well once more

Nigel67 I made a mistake in one of the last sentences. Doesn't read correctly. But yes, that is what the diagnostics are showing.

Greetings, Store bought FAT formatted USB drives seem to work (they are recognized and can be recorded to), at least small(er) ones. I tried FAT formatting a USB drive on my Mac but it is not recognized by the M32R. Can't record to it. I believe I've tried deleting the hidden MacOS files to no avail. Are there any particulars WRT FAT format? Do I need to firmware update my M32R? Please advise :-) -thanks ,mike

Paul_Vannatto The FAT on the Mac is different than the required FAT32 (called DOS FAT on a Mac).

myoungberg It is formatted FAT32 on a Mac by Disk Utility. (MacOS 10.13). Still not recognized.

myoungberg Using Disk Utility, one can click on the drive or the volume (if it's partitioned). I needed to format ("Erase") the *drive* as "MS-DOS (FAT)". This can also be done to the *volume*. I believe I was doing the latter; not the former. I now have erased the thumb drive using the former; I'll try it in a bit. [I don't think it helps that Apple changed how Disk Utility works a few years back, and I'm accustomed to the older version. I've been using Macs since 1984.] I appreciate your help and patience.

    Hi,

I'm using Midas M32R and I'm trying to route Bus7/8 to Dante input 15/16. All my other channels are working fine 1-12 into Dante 1-12. I can't seem to find the bus routing in M32R to route it to dante input. Anyone has any idea? Thanks

GaryHiggins Connect the M32 r to the A port of the DL32, it will control preamps and routing, Connect the M32 to the DL B port. It can then access all the DL inputs but will not control the preamps. It will have trim not gain, otherwise connections are fairly straightforward..

CraigFowler That said, if you want the M32 @ FOH to control the DL32's preamps, you can use the HA Remote setting on the M32R's Setup>Preamps page.

      • m32-m32r with dl32 monitoring
GaryHiggins The question was essentially how to use Main L/R from the FOH M32, this was my response:

Make your M32 main L/R part of its outputs 1-16 routing, default I think is out 15/16. Aes50a out 9-16 set to “out 9-16” will then include main L/R. The M32R will see L/R (due to 32 ch shift of the DL) as aes50a ch’s 47 and 48 . I would suggest using the the m32r ‘user’ out routing menu to include aes50 ch 47 and 48 as part of it and then select that user output group for the outputs of the DL. You could also just use the aes50a 41-48 as the output source but you kind of waste 6 outputs of the DL that way.

RexBeckett The missing reply and subsequent comment is a recent forum bug, Gary. It has been reported and the development team can reproduce it. Let's hope they find a quick solution.

    Hi there,

So we have 3 HD's in a Broadcast environtment and using automixer in AFL insert and SOLO config on PFL. I was expecting to have SOLO PFL but the insert of this automixer in AFL is causing SOLO following AFL too. Is that normal behaviour? Do other consoles work that way?

    Best regards,

    roger

Now that I have this m32r Live mixer, I can really see the difference between this and m32r. The buttons do look cheesy - cheap plastic with painted labels - this is eventually going to get erased. I ve seen buttons like that on various portable recorders, etc. NOT long lasting. And I watched a video where a guy is showing how motorized faders work: so fast! On LIVE version it is almost twice as slow (with fast faders enabled). And in that video faders work in sync. On live version, it seems first one group of faders moves, then the other. sort of by turn. Really weird. I feel really cheated that I could not get the real m32r and got this one :(

Paul_Vannatto Hey Pavel, first issue - check assignments to those buttons. They are probably assigned to the time of delays and act as tap tempo buttons (and blink according to the time settings). Second issue - slow faders - upgrade the M32 firmware to latest (4.02). There is now a setting to increase the fader speed.

      • M32R vs. M32R LIVE
balky Paul, thank you very much! I knew I would come out stupid. I did figure out why those buttons blinking But as far as fast faders, I do have this option enabled, and I mentioned it. with that in mind, comparing to the m32r on youtube video, it is still not as fast ... oh, well. there is much I can do about it anyway... I wanted to get that version, but it was sold out at every store I 've been to

      • M32R vs. M32R LIVE
balky Hey, Gary! Thanks so much. I tried this software: the faders moved like crazy LOL. But, there are some things that do not work like scene names turned into some number signs with "go figure out" names. Edit app does not work with that firmware... So, it was cool for the sake of experiment to try. Unfortunately, returned to 4.2 Well, at least I know that it is all in the hands of firmware

      • M32R vs. M32R LIVE
GaryHiggins The reason that's true is the Edit v 4.01 wont work with it. Now you are back to 4.02 try fast fader setting. With V 3.07 you need to use the older version of M32-Edit the version of Edit you use is 4.01 and will only work for version 4 mixer firmware and above.

      • M32R vs. M32R LIVE
balky I figured that much I've always used Fast faders feature. It was not as fast as in 3.07 though. Oh well. It is not a problem, I am concerned more about these buttons... afraid to touch them so the ink would stay longer LOL

      • M32R vs. M32R LIVE
balky You know what I wanted to ask?! 2 things: 1. Does the board switch sample rate automatically? Or it has to be manually set every time? If so, that's really annoying. I have different projects, and every time I open a 48 Hz project it sounds slow LOLL it scares the hell out of me! It does not even tell you CHANGE SAMPLE RATE. Weird. With presonus it would just change the rate. 2. Well, I kind of suspect that the answer to this one will be NO, but I will ask anyway Is it possible to connect to mixer from outside the local area network? It would be very handy for me I could control the board from outside my home... Thx

I use my M32r live primaraly for home recording. I am trying to figure out a way to setup a headphone monitor mix that is seperate from the XLR inputs that I am recording. I am printing a healthy file to my DAW so I  would like to have a better mix for monitoring.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
