    Hi,

Any intention of updating the Behringer X-Air / MIDAS M-Air drivers to the latest iteration of your TCAT drivers (5.12) used by your other products (Behringer UMCs) ?

This would allow for multi-WDM outputs and inputs, which is long overdue...

    Regards,

    Giaco

    UPDATE :
Updates were pulled both for the X-Air and M-Air series to the latest driver revision !
Thank you to whoever did this at Music Tribe HQ !

    Hello,

I've found recently that the Behringer S16 can be used as standalone stagebox. But as the S16 have only 8 outputs, the 9-16 output coming from another S16 in the stage is routed to ADAT in the FOX S16, so I have to add a ADAT-analog converter in my setup to get these output.

I'm wondering if SD8 can be used as same purpose, because SD8 has 8 in / 8 out, so with the same setup, I can hook up 2x SD8 on the stage and 2x SD8 in FOH.

Or is there any another easy setup to make use of digital stagebox with analog mixers?

Nigel67 Hi manoaratefy. The S16 has the option of using its built in clock to connect to other IO boxes so a mixer is not required. The SD8 does not have a built in clock and therefore needs to receive an external clock from a mixer or S16 to work. Therefore, unfortunately you cannot use two SD8s as stand alone stage boxes as neither can provide a clock. You could connect an S16 to two SD8 giving you 16 inputs (S16) and then 16 outputs (2 x SD8).

    Hi

I normally use an XR18 and I use  the band's IPad and my Windows laptop running the  Edit software to mix with.

This week I have to use an XAIR X18 with my laptop and an Android pad.

I need to know if the Edit software on my laptop will work OK  and what software do I need for the Android pad please?

    Thanks

    Phil

Paul_Vannatto Get Mixing Station Pro. It is well worth the nominal cost IMO. I've been using it since 2013 and love it.

      • Correct software for XAIR X18
Soccerman58 Hi Paul. I told the singer to download this app to his phone. I am happy enough with Edit for right now on my laptop for my band using the XR18 - but will Edit work with the X18 please?

Paul_Vannatto If it is just for mixing monitors, then Mixing Station (free) is quite adequate, unless you are doing outdoor gigs. For those, the pro version (with the high contrast color theme) is invaluable. Yes X-Air Edit will work fine with any X-Air console. I use it all the time.

Soccerman58 I know Mixing Station Pro is third party software, but as you recommended it I downloaded it to my android phone just so I have access to the EQs (I have Edit on my laptop with a 23 inch touchscreen, but the screen is not good at doing the pinch thing on the eq). I don't see how to connect it to the router - can you help please? Thanks Phil

Paul_Vannatto If you have the Mixing Station X-Air Pro app, the connection is on the first screen. You can either have the app search for the console or put the IP address in. If you have the newer Mixing Station Pro (that combines all console models together - eg. X-Air, X32, Wing, etc.) the connection is on the second screen.

    Hi

I will be using another band's XAIR X18 this week and the band has been asking about running a long CAT 5 cable from the stage to my laptop running the mixing software.

I personally don't care because I don't wander around the venue, and I have had the rather alrming experience of the WiFi disconnecting on my XR18.

If we decide to go this route, do I have to do anything other than connect a standard off-the-shelf 50 foot CAT 5 cable that I can probably get from our work IT guy please?

    Thanks

    Phil

Paul_Vannatto Correction. Standard cat5e cable works just fine. Ethercon connectors are not required (and will actually impede the ethernet connection).

    • Soccerman58
Soccerman58 So I just connect a basic cat5e cable between the mixer and my laptop, open the mixer software and Bingo! - can it be just that simple???

    • Soccerman58
Paul_Vannatto If you connect directly, you will have to make sure the laptop and mixer have the same subnet (first 3 numbers of the IP address) and unique 4th number. If you want to make it easy, put a router in between the laptop and the mixer, so that the router assigns the IP address to both.

    Hi

I will be using an XAIR X18 this week and the singer has asked me about mixing his wireless in-ears from an  Android phone.

Would he need to download some Behringer software, or something from the App Store please?

Will the phone automatically find the mixer please?
    Thanks

Paul_Vannatto You have a choice of the official X-Air Q or the third party Mixing Station X-Air (my preference).

Soccerman58 Hi Paul. Which option is easiest to use please?

    • Soccerman58
Paul_Vannatto I guess that is a matter of opinion. Since I've been using Mixing Station for over 8 years, that is my preference and find it easier to use than the official app.

    1. Is the only way to rename Group Names is via saving a .csv file as "names.csv" onto an sd card and then importing into the DP48

    2. How do I reset the Group Names on the DP48 to their default if I want to revert my group name changes?

Paul_Vannatto 1. The only other option at this point is to name the groups from the X32 Library, AES50 screen.
      2. You could create a names.csv file with Group1,Group2,Group3, (etc.) or whatever the default names were. I haven't seen those default name in over 2 years (so don't remember).

      • How to reset DP48 Group Names
dallaskruse I'll be using the DP48s with different groups so I was hoping to be able to rename the Groups easily.

Paul_Vannatto What I've been doing is to setup preset files for each band, including the group names, then saving them to the 12 internal storage areas and/or to the 12 presets on the SD Card. I also store them on my laptop using folders for each of the bands.

2 years ago (Aug 16, 2019) I did sound for a Woodstock 50th anniversary festival where I had to get 5 tribute bands and one local band through in 9 hours and used the 4 DP48 for their monitors. Since these were still beta (weren't released for sale until December), I had 20 minutes (or less) to make the changeover and teach the musicians how to use the DP48. Everyone loved them. The success was due to the stored presets for each of the bands.

    • dallaskruse
Paul_Vannatto I had also started to develop an offline DP48 preset editor, but gave up because these files also include a checksum and my checksum generator routine never came up with the same checksum the DP48 was expecting.

    Hi

I have a Dual Leisurer compressor in Slot 4.

I have been having a problem getting the needle on the Dual Leisure compressor to deflect, even though I appear to have signal in and signal out. And I have the purple buttons lit indicating it is applied as an insert.

I've been wondering if I need to have to change anything in the SENDS view (Input, Pre EQ, Post EQ etc) please? I don't believe it will make a difference , but currently it is set to Post Fader, which I think is the default.

Similarly, I'm wondering if I need to have the FX4 channel fader up? Again, if I'm using it as an insert I don't believe I do, but I'm clutching at straws here.

    Thanks

    Phil

Paul_Vannatto On the Dual Leisure FX, set the gain at about 50 and peak reduction at about 50 as a starting point. Adjust to get the meter deflecting as desired. If that doesn't work. export your scene to a file, save it to the cloud and share the link in your next post. That way we can have a look and better advise.

we have recently purchased a xr18, we have guitars, vocals and drums in through the preferred channel strips.

when we solo the bass channel to Eq it this works great, when we solo each individual drum to do the same the solo button acts like a mute.

does anyone know where we are going wrong.

Dale_M Hi there, we would advise testing the XR18 on another PC/MAC and see if the fault follows the unit, if you need further support please raise a Technical ticket from the Support tab above.

Just tried to run the new X-Air Edit 1.7 in Linux, but it does nothing. Previous version X-AIR-Edit_LINUX_32-Bit_1.5 works fine. My system is 64bit, but the 32bit (it's N/A in 64b afaik) runs fine.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Ok, thanks Paul. Not sure why this is happening. Latest Manjaro 64bit version (latest kernel too). It's like when it's clickded to open, the system does nothing, I mean nothing!!! No waiting circle, no window open , nada!! Weird! Especially as 1.5 seems to work with no issues at all.
