Hi. I'm using SynthTool 2.40 and two TD-3, both on firmware 1.2.6.

When I use the "dump" feature in SynthTool, then it properly exports 64 patterns (counts up to 64).

When I use the "merge" feature afterwards to import the previously exported dump file to the second TD-3, then the "merge" counts up to 49, and then says that it was successful.

So basically, what it imports via "merge" is all correct, but it's only 49 patterns, means 16 patterns of pattern bank 1, 2, and 3, and only the very first pattern of pattern bank 4.

This is very easy to reproduce. Simply create a pattern in Pattern bank 4, pattern 8 for example, then dump the whole machine, and merge it to another one.

I also tried with SynthTool 1.36 ... same results.

Nigel67 Hi Andreas. I have just heard from the designers. this bug was fixed and is incorporated into the new synthtool app that was released about 21 hours ago. Many thanks

      • SynthTool with TD-3: "Merge" always only imports 49 patterns (instead of 64)
graesserph Awesome! Tried it with SynthTool 2.4.1, and works like a charm. Thank you so much.
Also great to see that you've incorporated the RD-6 in the SynthTool. So there's still hope for the RD-8 to get its place as well .
In any way, I'm seriously impressed. It's great to see a community where you get "real" answers by people who obviously care. Thank you!

My Neutron is behaving quite strangely. When I plug something in to the Att2 Out it changes the sound quite a bit. It's like it's changing the Pulse Width. If I then connect the same or a different patchcable to the Att1 In it changes even more. It's like it turns down the PW2 from 2 o clock to 8 o clock.

I can turn it by hand, but it seems like unintentional behavior and sometimes it changes my sound quite drastically and when you have a complicated patch it can be quite tricky to find out why your synth is suddenly making almost no sound even though you just routed something to the Attenuators that are turned all the way down. You would expect to change at all untill you start turning the Attenuators.

I added a video to demonstrate what's happening/ I would really appreciate it if somebody that owns a Neutron can try doing what I did here and let me know if this is how they all are of mine is somehow malfunctioning.

I just updated from Firmware 1.0 to 2.02 and it didn't change anything by the way.

      Yes, that's normal for Neutron.

ATT2 Out is Normalled to both ATT1 In and Pulse Width in.

When you insert a cable, ATT2 is no longer connnected to ATT1 In and Pulse Width, but ATT1 In and Pulse Width In (both oscillators) are still connected together.

Technically (and this point can be safely ignored) the output from ATT2 was providing an effective ground and preventing ATT1 In and Pulse Width from interacting.

Anyway, connecting inputs together produces "unpredictable results", as you discovered.
Also the pots for pulse width are providing what Behringer claim is a "useful" DC offset to the input of ATT1

Behringer advised me not to use ATT2 Out when needing reliable pulse width! They didn't supply a workaround.

The normalling of ATT2 OUT to ATT 1In is of course not only a cause of issues, it's also somewaht useless. You need to patch the connection anyway in order to cancel the normalisation to Pulse Width.

Your workaround is to patch some 0V voltage from the patchbay to the PW in socket. SLEW Out does the trick

I am getting no signal from oscillators 1-3. But the A-440 is loud and clear. The noise circuit also doesn't put out a signal. I've tried using the High and Low Z outputs, the headphone out, and the tiny 1/8" (CV?) audio out. None of them work. I've tried setting the MIDI channel to 1 or 2 using the dipswitches, it doesn't seem to matter. And the MIDI controller I'm using is able to function as an external MIDI controller for my DAW/VSTs. I even tried using two different 5-pin MIDI cables in case it was my controller/MIDI cables... I'm wondering if my Model D is dead?

I'm very new to synths, and the Odyssey is my first purchase and I have lots to learn.  I tried searching and didn't find anything related to my question.

The Pulse Width sections for the two VCOs on my Odyssey don't seem to do anything for sound shaping.  No matter how much Width or MOD I give them nothing happens.  The LFO/ADSR switch under the MOD fader doesn't seem to have an effect, either.  I tried messing with these in conjunction with other settings (like the LFO frequency) and still no dice.

My main thing now is just trying to figure out if there's a problem with my synth or not since neither Pulse Width section seems to work.

    Thanks for the help! :-)

      DavidKnighton Hi jhupka,
The pulse width only affects the square wave oscillator. Make sure the square wave VCO is pushed up in the audio mixer so that you can hear the affects of the PWM.

jhupka Thank you for the help, David. This answered my question, and the Pulse Width sliders are working. :-)

Got my Crave a few hours ago and i´m experiencing ghost trigs on rest steps.

Means even if you do a pattern with only rest steps, you get tiny trigs which trigger the envelope.

Makes the sequencer useless for programming the simplest patterns.

On top the Mix (Noise / External Audio) is bleeding into the signal path. Both, external audio an noise will be in the signal path slightly, even when turned of.

I´m on 1.0.6 and somehow i think this could be solved though firmware ...

I´ve done a ticket to get a proper answer for this trig issue.

I'm in the exact same situation!

Ghost triggers under 1.06 on the rest steps. I have two Craves, both have the same issue.

      Please help!

      Hi there,

I reported that as bug already, although I returned my Crave yesterday.

You should do that too, since lowering decay time decreases the effect as Eduard said in the facebook group.

How many people would love, Behringer to make the ARP Quadra Synth. After the amazing job they have done on the, 2600 and the Odyssey. I would definitely buy one.

I recently picked up one of the expert sleepers floating ring cables and wanted to try out the CV in through the pedal jack.

I tried sending CV from a clep diaz module with attentuation through Maths. It's plus minus 5 volts so should be safe. I set the foot pedal to expression and in mod matrix set expression to Osc 1 + 2 pitch at full range.
I'm not hearing impact. I tried some other CV sources like 1v/octave from a shuttle control and simple LFO. Not able to get any change. I also tried setting foot pedal to footswitch and applying that in mod matrix.

Do I need to "Calibrate" the footpedal input for CV? If i try to calibrate the numbers range is much much lower than would be for an expression pedal but it never finishes calibration and applies a new range. Is there more information on how to do this properly online anywhere?

craigspeed Can anyone at Behringer help with this? I can't imagine I'm the only one whose tried to do this. I do think it's a great synth otherwise and I'd rather not return it..

I've tried the SynthTribe app. It doesn't find Brains even though Windows has found it.

Please don't tell me a third time that I don't need a driver. Windows says it can't find a suitable one.
windows says the device isn't working because it hasn't got a driver.
The app doesn't find Brains, it does not connect to Brains.
Windows reads the device description as "BRAINS Virtual ComPort in FS Mode" the usb connection must be good.

I've tried connecting Brains before starting the app,

I've tried starting the app first then connecting Brains.

I've tried staring the app connecting Brains, and rebooting Brains.

All evidence points to the need for a driver, usual "no driver needed" is advertising speak for "uses generic driver will install automatically". if the SynthTribe app is meant to install a driver then it isn't doing that.

Please escalate this issue until someone can provide an answer.

    I'm on Win 8.1

ramAustralia I'm on Linux and likewise no way of updating or changing Brains. Not that I'm unhappy with the performance of Brains, but why not open it up a bit more with open source software?

Latest from Behringer is "try Win 10".
(yes I typed in the serial number and everything for tech support....zzzz)

That makes sense, maybe Win10 can access the necessary driver....let's see.

ramAustralia, as you saw I asked this question here 3 times and got only two vestigal responses from "tech support".
I don't think the 'first responders' on this platform have any scope to be helpful beyond reading the manual, and perhaps asking you to make a video in the hope you'll go away.

There's always the [email protected] email address, at least then you communicate with someone who will pass the question to someone who may answer.

I would imagine that anyone in the film industry would simply get Plaits, although the idea of open sourcing appeals immensely.
