    Hi,

Trying to come up with the easiest way to change vocal pitch a few notes ... For example, I want to sing an E and have the output be a G.  Using this for recording parts I have trouble reaching vs. live performance.  I suspect HardTune is the answer, but every time I try it, the vocal return is weird.

    Thanks,

    Phil

PedroRodrigues Hi PhilipBest please consider if you are a singer without an instrument, you may not want to rely on some external input. Instead, we’ll set the Key/Scale for your song manually.
For simplicity, let’s sing “Happy Birthday” in C using our Major 2 scale.
You will need to find C as your starting note (unless you have perfect pitch – then you are awesome).
      To set the key/scale:
If it isn’t selected, select the Vocal Layer by pressing the Layer footswitch.
Press and HOLD the Harmony footswitch until the Set Key/Scale screen appears.
Press the Preset up/Preset down footswitches until the key reaches C.
If the scale is not already “Maj 2”, tap the Step button repeatedly until the display shows Maj 2.
Let the Key/Scale screen “time out” and disappear (by not doing anything for a few seconds).
Checking the Double effect block / tab tool, the HardTune effect and other effects may be also useful.

PhilipBest I usually lay down a simple back track in drums and guitar or keyboard in the alternate key and sing to that. Does the key/scale affect the primary vocal or the harmonies or is that selectable ? Again, thanks for getting me on track.

PedroRodrigues Hi PhilipBest please consider that it depends how you set up the key/scale, you can use the Natural Play, the Global Key/scale or setting up Key/Scale manually. as this matter is a broad subject and to access specific set up I would suggest to follow the link below and check page 49 and 50 of the guide for this unit by following the link below: https://www.tc-helicon.com/tchelicon/product?modelCode=P0DEG

PhilipBest Thanks again, Pedro. I took a look at key / scale yesterday and I think it does exactly what it's intended to do ... but for the harmony notes vs. the root. Then I looked for the key / scale chart via the the link in the manual and that link goes nowhere. Searched the internet for it and also not much save a page from ManualsLib that they want money to access or download. Not thrilled with TC Helicon product support. Lots of decent YouTube videos, but every time I look for my topic I end up in pitch correction vs. pitch change land. Guess I'll keep wandering along.

I was at rehearsal last week and decided to plug in my phone to the aux jack to run through a song. Seemed to work fine but now the unit seems to have an j thermal mic issue or something. If nothing is plugged into the aux jack(even just a cable with nothing in the other end) then the unit picks up every sound ( pressing buttons, touching the machine at all) very loud and clearly with a slight delay. The k my way I have found to remedy this is to just leave an 1/8" cable plugged into the aux port. This seems like a very strange issue, I'm wondering if anyone else has come across it. Thanks! Cory

PedroRodrigues Hi CoryDumont this may be related to the RoomSense being active, as this tool controls the two onboard microphones on the unit and in some cases can cause similar issues as the ones you just mention. Can you please press MIX and turn the ROOMSENSE level all the way OFF and see if the issue is still present?
If the steps above, do not resolve this matter have you tried to perform a factory reset to your unit?
To perform a factory reset hold down “Store” and “Back” during power up.
      Thank you

    Hi there,

I'm just wondering if it's possible to have multiple effects at once on the TC Helicon VOICELIVE Play GTX pedal? I want to use the hardtune effect as well as harmony effect at the same time. Is that possible?

Is it possible to have the harmonies key off of what I am playing on the piano?  When I plug the piano into the Aux-In and go into Setup, I have Roomsense set to "Ambient/Auto", it tells me to "Unplug Aux".  What am I doing wrong?

    • adiecidue
PedroRodrigues Hi adiecidue Please consider that when an input is detected on the Aux-In, the unit will use this signal to figure out Key/Scale information.
When you set up the unit in RoomSense mode using the AMBIENT/AUTO setting this will also listen to musical information from the surrounding environment, form a single instrument to a whole band will work to determine the KEY/ SCALE for harmony/hardtune.
Unfortunately, will not be possible to have both methods to collect Key/Scale information at the same time on this unit and the preference will always falls on using the two onboard RoomSense microphones for this function function. In this case would suggest to use the RoomSense mode Thank you

    Hello everyone,

Just joined the Music Tribe Community in order to be able to check around the TC Helicon family some things I'm willing to achieve with my recently acquired Voicelive Touch 2 + Switch 6 combo.

The more pressing question is the one I put as the subject for this inquiry. I'm a singer-songwriter and I REALLY want to be able to control the Slider FX effects with a dedicated Expression Pedal - so I don't have to use my hands for triggering them momentarily and/or controlling its intensity.

Since I'm already using the Switch 6 in the footswitch port - and unfortunately it seems that you don't have the option to assign this for one of the footswitches - it seems to me that the only way to achieve this would be using an Expression Pedal connected thru MIDI. Can someone confirm if that's possible? I checked the manual (and this forum), but couldn't find the answer. If it's possible, then would any Expression pedal work or is there some brands/models that are more advisable for getting this to work?

I'm hoping to get myself an Helix Floor (or LT) in the near future, and I could try using the Wah/Expr. pedal for that purpose (has anyone already done that?), but maybe it's best if I get a dedicated one just for the VLT2 - so I could have the Helix for controlling guitar effects whenever I need.

I was thinking of getting this EX3 model, made by this Poland brand called Beat Bars, which outputs MIDI both thru USB or a MIDI port. Here's the link for it: https://beatbars.com/en/midi-expression-pedal.html Does anyone know if that would work as I intend it to?

Another doubt concerning the Slider FX: is it possible to increase the decay time of the effects (when triggered) so they don't disappear right away from pressing the slider FX region? That would be handy in the case that I can't control this via Expression Pedal. But I'd much rather having the expression pedal possibility though... That would grant me more control and expressivity.

I'll  greatly appreciate any feedback on this matter. Thanks in advance!

yuriamorim I've looked into the MIDI Implementation on the manual and there seems to be no MIDI CC number attributed to the Slider FX. That makes me think that maybe it's not possible to do what I want. If that's the case, would it be possible to include such a thing in a future firmware update? Does TC Helicon still keep "updating" this line of products (VLT2) - when was the last firmware update released anyway? - or would they do so if asked by the users community (in case it's theoretically possible)? I'm "late" to the game, but that feature would really make this piece of gear really shine (not that it doesn't already). There's still potential locked in this baby.

    Hi guys,

I bought a Voicelive Touch 2 and a Switch 6 (both second hand) and I've been using the Switch in Custom Mode (with the first six effects assigned to each footswitch). But sometimes the commands from the Switch 6 will go nuts and turn the wrong effects (diferent then the assigned ones). When this happens, I reinsert the TRS on both ends until it gets back to the proper assigned functions.

Can this be a bad TRS cable thing? Or could it be because I have a malfunction Switch 6 unit? How should I get it fixed? I can't have this happening in the middle of a concert... Does anyone have any guess on where the problem lies?

    Thanks in advance

kiskadar69 It should be determined which device is faulty. For example, you could measure the Switch-6 with an ohmmeter:
      0. If none of the switches on the Switch-6 are depressed, you will normally measure an open between the Tip and Ring output of the Switch-6.
      1. If only the first switch on the Switch-6 is depressed, you will normally measure 10 kohm between the Tip and Ring output of the Switch-6.
      2. If only the second switch on the Switch-6 is pressed, you will normally measure 20 kohm between the Tip and Ring output of the Switch-6.
      3. If only the third switch on the Switch-6 is depressed, you will normally measure 30 kohm between the Tip and Ring output of the Switch-6.
      4. If only the fourth switch on the Switch-6 is depressed, you will normally measure 40 kohm between the Tip and Ring output of the Switch-6.
      5. If only the fifth switch on the Switch-6 is pressed, you will normally measure 50 kohm between the Tip and Ring output of the Switch-6.
      6. If only the sixth switch of the Switch-6 is pressed, you will normally measure 60 kohm between the Tip and Ring output of the Switch-6.
      7. Normally you always measure 70 kohm between the Switch-6 Ring and Sleeve output.

PedroRodrigues Hi Scotty1969,Please consider that on the GUITAR Tab allows you to control the guitar mix level and the style and mix settings for the Reverb and μMod effects.
This is the same Guitar mix control as the one that is activated when you access the main Mix screen.
You can adjust the level of the guitar in VoiceLive 2’s overall mix in either menu.
The range of this control is -30 dB to +24 dB in order to adapt to a wide range of guitar output levels.
Please note that this does not affect guitar level when a jack is connected to the GUITAR THRU connector and the guitar signal is passed on to an external amplifier.

Scotty1969 Thx Pedro I sincerely appreciate it. Without getting too detailed I gave it a second thought about having my guitar coming through the PA from same speakers that are primarily for vocals. I’m in a guitar duo with drums/bass on backing tracks. Yes we do mic up guitar speakers to come through PA BUT I run stereo and the setup is I run a speaker on both sides of us with a powercab just off to my right so that’s the primary speaker I hear regarding guitar. Two outside powered speakers are an additional left side in conjunction with the powercab and then a right side powered speaker (stereo). I utilize a guitar synthesizer so running both my helix and synth in stereo is a huge difference. PA mains are just out front of my right and left powered speakers. I believe it makes better sense to loop guitar through the helix instead of the helicon BECAUSE the powercab is going to give me the best looped replicated sound coming from the helix and that’s what is mic”d up to the PA mains.

Scotty1969 Pedro can you tell me if I can use one XLR output and one 1/4” output? Or do I have to run either XLR pairs or 1/4 “ pairs (right and left)?
      • February 16, 2021
    • Scotty1969
PedroRodrigues Hi Scotty, please The typical setup for monitoring the output of VoiceLive
2 is to connect two 1/4” cables to a stereo channel in a
PA mixer. VoiceLive 2 can be set to output in mono if
preferred in the I/O tab of the SETUP menu.
If you are using a snake to connect to an offstage mixer,
then the XLR outputs can be connected without the
need for DI boxes. The output of the XLR jacks is the
same as the 1/4” jacks: line level (maximum +16 dBu).
Both the XLR and TRS output jacks can be used at the
same time when required. Correct you can have a mono signal outputting via XLR and the other signal outputting via 1/4” jack.

PedroRodrigues Hi Please consider that to restoring the factory settings of TC Helicon VoiceLive Touch , you must power up the unit. Then hold the LEFT BOTTOM and LEFT TOP Matrix buttons while the display shows text until the display shows the initialization message. The Factory Reset procedure is complete. If this does not resolve this matter please try to update the firmware for your unit via VOICESUPPORT.

I need your help! I have my harmony singer set to when I hold the button down I have harmony. My problem is this… The harmony sometimes comes back on even after releasing the button. I don't think it's the pedal itself. I have tried two additional harmony singers with the same result. I welcome any and all suggestions! Thank you!

kiskadar69 Try turning off Mic Control.

      Original Harmony Singer:
"Mic Control allows you to turn the harmony effect on and off from the optional TC-Helicon MP-75 or Sennheiser e835FX mic. Harmony Singer has a switch labelled MIC CONTROL that can be pushed in, allowing you to active or deactivate the device from the mic. When Mic Control is not desired, make sure the switch is out."

      Harmony Singer 2:
"Mic Control allows you to control the effect's on/off status via an MP-75 microphone. Press and hold the footswitch while powering up the unit to toggle Mic Control."
