Nick Davis here are a few feature requests:

      1. GEQ - incorporate option for feedback detection ( not destroyer ).

      2. Compressor - auto release option

      4. re - playback of recorded tracks via usb/fiwi - addition of ability to set markers for the transport start points

      5. re - playback of recorded tracks via usb/fiwi ( or incorporated when the proposed enhancement to allow direct recording to standalone hard disk) - addition of recording automation of all mixing parameters ( selectable) say to the usb stick - This was a feature of the old DDX3216 - and would improve ability to mix otb.

Kevin Hunter To expand a little on Nicks suggestion (no 1)

Overlay the GEQ on top of a RTA or SMAART (the way the Presonus does) this really helps ringing out feedback.

Dave Korman or go a little further and have a button that automatically sets the GEQ to the inverse of the RTA display to give a fast starting point to the manually tweak?

      InactiveUser 1. I'll second the de-esser.

      2. Ability to gang 2 consoles together (x32 + x32, x32 + x16, x16 + x16).

      3. Ability to select inputs in smaller blocks than 8.

      4. Implementation of permissions, particularly for the iPad app. (See StudioLive)

      5. Meter bridge add-on.

      6. Video out that mirrors the console. To me this adds a huge amount of operational redundancy, so that if the screen breaks or gets bashed that I can still use the console. (In a pinch it's easier to add a monitor than come up with a whole computer + software.)

      7. Keyboard and mouse over USB.

      8. Tone generator.

    Hi:
I just bought the Berhringer X32 and have been trying to connect Waves Multirack software via USB to the XUF FireWire/USB audio interface card. My hopes are to be able to run all the audio inputs during live performance through the Multirack software and back into the X32. I have had some success but have not yet found a "routing" combination that has completely worked. Has anyone tried and done this successfully??
I am new the forum and would appreciate any thoughts.

InactiveUser I don't own a X32 yet but I have contacted Behringer and Waves about this and both said it would work. I would contact Waves becuase they were willing to walk me through it. If you e-mail them they will contact you back fast. They have the best customer service I have found anywhere.

InactiveUser Thanks, Yes I have spoken Waves and they do not know. No one at Sweetwater or Guitar Center in LA knows the answer either. I just got my mixer and I am having success with adding only 4 channels of AUX 1-4 which is only one of the inputs directly into the onboard audio card. I am trying other combinations to see if I can come up with another combination of routing that will allow me more Wave channels. I will let you know what I find.

      Thanks,

      Christian Boche Hi,

by now it is a bit clumsy, because the daw returns are not useable as digital inserts on all channel without sacrifying the micpres. You can use the Aux inptus though. Behringer R&D is working on a solution as we speak, this routing option will come in a future firmware update. I'm also waiting on this, we just need a bit more patience.

As long as you want to set up as insert on every channel, it is quite straightforward. If you route Card out to use Local 1-8, 9-16, 17-24 & 25-32 and route Inputs to use Card as source, you have insert on all your channels. You have to do any bypass in Multirack, and all channels have to have a path trough Multirack, but the X32 side is fairly straightforward if you can live with having permanent inserts.

One question for you, does the Multirack support non-Waves plugins, I have a couple of Waves bundles and would like to use them if that doesn't limit me to Waves-only.

What is the best DAW to use with the X32?? And why not some kind of software wasn't supplied with the board. You figure for the price we paid, something would of been nice.

Christian Boche I spend a lot of time in studios and therefore I need to know how to operate the most common audio sequenzer. Sadly I just have only very basic skills in Logic and ProTools, but I'm quite good with SawStudio, Cubase&Nuendo, StudioOne and Reaper. I found StudioOne runs nicely with the X32 (both Mac and PC), but it is not that stable in comparison to reaper or SAW. Just my personal experience. So, if you need a sequencer just for studio work, maybe look into Studio One. There is even a complety free version--> http://studioone.presonus.com/free

If you want to do live recordings, I would go with Reaper! Very stable, nice price and it comes with some important features for live recordings. F.e. you can record your tracks to two differnet paths and you have the option, to record in BradcastWave (wav.64) files. No need to worry about the 4GB file limit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAV#Limitations).

      Hope that helps.

Henry Klein I use to work with Presonus' Studio One as well, works really nice and it's worth thinking about buying the full version. You can dig into the system with the free version.

As was a Samplitude user for more than 15 years (before switching to Mac) I would recommend that DAW, too.

What you will need to manage on your system is a routing setup that differs from DAW to DAW. Most systems can manage templates that are easy to use once they're made. Always remember to start the DAW AFTER the hardware is plugged and seen by your computer.

Sure. Studio One crashes once in a while, when working with applications that uses lot's of RAM (samples, drumagog) and especially with the build in Melodyne. The 64bit version of S1 works notably better than the 32bit version concerning this topic. It never crashed, when I was just recording...but be careful when doing serious editing and mixing. I have one reaper rig as well, that never crashed within the last three years and I know two guys using reaper for doing live sound (like SAC).

      Just sayin'

      Christian

When a rock solid live tracking behavior is on the wish list, than maybe look into Nuendo Live-->

      http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/nuendo/nuendo_live.html

It can restore even unsaved recordings after a power out! BTW: SAWstudio can fix a damaged header too...

Alan Bean I do not yet own an X32, but am doing the research to confirm whether or not to buy. I am considering it for one purpose: to mix live shows and record at the same time. I have MacBook Pro i7 with 16 GB RAM and a Glyph Firewire 800 external drive. On the Mac I am running Pro Tools 9 using Windows 7 via Bootcamp (long story why not the Mac OS...). My glyph drive uses the only Firewire port on the Mac. Can I really record 32 tracks at once via USB from the X32 without dropouts? I have no desire to do any manipulation in the DAW during the show. I will be focusing on live mixing for FOH and will mix the recorded show later back in my Pro Tools HD studio.

Is anyone recording to Pro Tools with this console successfully?

This board looks almost too good to be true for the price. I have had a couple of Behringer items break down in the past...reliability means a lot when recording live shows for a client!

Have any of you early adopters located a case for the X32?

I corresponded with Gator last month and they seemed oblivious to the wave of X32s that's about to come ashore.

Our friends across the pond are getting a nice case from Thomann, but shipping from GB would be a bit much!

Partick Ferdig, VP, CARE - MUSIC Group Services US Inc., is checking with product management to see what he can find out regarding a flite case for the X32.

OK, I am a bit unclear about hooking up line level (keyboards and effects) to the X32... in the Sound on Sound review it said the impedance was 12k? input impedance and would accept line level.

In the Sonic Lab video review it was mentioned a DI Box was required...

So, should a simple XLR - TRS snake be enough to connect the X32 directly to line level instruments?

    Thanks

      Hello,

A DI box is not required if the source is balanced. Ultimately, you should be able to connect from balanced line sources directly to the X32 with no problems, because the X32 has a really wide gain range. However, you'll find the gain controls on the X32 will be set very low.

For the best possible results we still recommend using DI's, because they use balancing transformers. This would be especially important if your going long cable lengths, such as through a 150 ft snake for example.

Keep in mind, you always have the 6 AUX line inputs as well on the X32. Not sure how many keyboard sources you have, but there's 6 line channels available. These can be balanced or unbalanced sources.

      I hope this helps!

      James,

Besides the 32 XLR mic inputs on the back, you also have six 1/4" line level inputs. These do not have the Midas designed microphone preamps like the other 32 channels. They are designed for signals that are already line level. If the keyboards are near the X32, this might be an additional solution for interconnecting your keyboards.

No you're not missing anything, there are 6 MONO TRS inputs and 6 MONO TRS outputs. These are limited function line level only, (no mic pre) with eq but no dynamics.

jenkinsj So, that doesn't imply 6 stereo line channels. As I thought, there are 6 mono line channels or 3 stereo pairs using the AUX connections.

    CALLING ALL FLASHBACK 2 USERS!

Thanks to your extensive feedback, we have developed a new firmware update for the Flashback 2 and we are NOW SEARCHING FOR BETA TESTERS!

The update gives users the option of having TAP TEMPO as the secondary footswitch function and true stereo input instead of MASH.

After updating to firmware V1.2.00, you can toggle between MASH and TAP TEMPO as a global setting for your Flashback 2 in the TonePrint App.

Press and hold the footswitch for 1.5 seconds to activate TAP TEMPO control (power LED turns green), then tap the footswitch in sync with your desired tempo to adjust delay times accordingly.

When TAP TEMPO is selected from the TonePrint App the MASH LED will constantly flash to display 1/4 note tempo of the delays, even when the pedal is turned off so you can always tell if you're on time.

The firmware update also fixes a small bug regarding stereo summing in buffered bypass mode when using stereo output.

If you own a Flashback 2 and you'd like to help us beta test firmware V1.2.00, please contact us :

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi all, 1.2.00 firmware is now officially released and can be downloaded on the TC website:
    https://www.tcelectronic.com/Categories/Tcelectronic/Guitar/Stompboxes/FLASHBACK-2-DELAY/p/P0CKR/Downloads#googtrans(en|en)

This is how you disable MASH switch to activate the TAP tempo feature on the new 1.2.00 firmware:

      • Connect you Fb2 pedal to your computer or mobile device

      • Start the Toneprint app

      • Select the Flashback 2 in the Templates view:
        flashback 2 beta disable mash1.PNG

      • Select any template from the list and click on the pencil icon to edit it
        fb2 diable mash 2.PNG

      • click on the Product Settings tab and then on the MASH switch lever as seen in the screenshot

      • fb2 product settings.PNG

      • you have now disabled MASH switch functionality and the MASH LED should no blink and indicate the current delay time

      • the setting is remmebered until you enable  MASH again

I own a TC Electronic Nova Delay and love the hold tap tempo feature where you can hold down the tap tempo button, play a rhythm and the pedal listens to the tempo you play and matches it. Will that feature be available on the Flashback 2?

It just seems that noone wants to upload anything, not even the site administrator. The only preset that is online just initializes the console, and I wouldn't waste a scene slot for that one when I just need to go into the Setup menu.

    Dear X32 fellows,
We have just released v4.0, a major update to the X32 series firmware and the EDIT desktop apps.

All updates are online now, webpages are being updated currently, and it may take a little while until it is properly reflected on web server caches. For those who can't wait to check it out here are the download links, and a link to Goetz' fantastic 3:42 minutes of info on youtube

If you prefer the old layout, you may of course keep using fw 3.12 with EDIT apps 3.2. But you will miss the many really cool features like point-to-point routing and remote configuration of Midas' recent DP48 monitoring system etc. etc.

See the download links below and have fun as much as we had over the past months creating the new UI. Big kudos to Adam, Andreina, Brunella, Martin, Michael and Thomas for making this possible, and of course to the beta-team for much valued comments!!!

    Best regards,
    Jan

No you didn't miss it. The editor doesn't have it yet. But the firmware does, meaning you can access it from one of the other (non-core) X32/M32 models interface. I have Scene Parser almost ready for release and hoping to provide a DP48 tool in Live Toolbox in the near future (yes you can access it via OSC).

can we hope for some "firmware love" for the X Air/ M Air mixers, too, now that the X32 v4 has been done?
