    Good Day,

Is it posible to send audio signal to a Computer which is 40 mts away from my M32c using Cat5?

RexBeckett Hi Joinville, you could use a KT DN9630, positioned close to the PC, to do this. This device converts AES550 to USB 2.0 and provides a 48 channel bi-directional interface. AES50 can work through upto 100 meters of shielded Cat5e cable.

KevinMaxwell I had to look up what the KT DN9630 is and that looks like a very interesting device. It has a control data port on it do you know if this is duplicating the Ethernet port on the back of the mixer so you could use X32 edit on the computer to control the mixer with that port?

DavidKnighton Hello Kevin, the control data port was intended for use with remote preamps, but the concept was abandoned. Now it's just a center piece for discussion.

We are working on a show for our church. There is 1 scene, 15 snippets and 31 cues. The snippets simply mute and unmute channels depending on what is happening on the stage. This is not a complicated show

We can create all of the snippets and save them. We can also create all of the cues and assign the appropriate snippets. We go through the save process and export a copy to a flash drive. Everything works fine until the computer is shut down and we reload the show.

Upon reloading the show, the snippets are all off by one, on both the MIDAS board and the M32 Edit software. So Snippet 0 which was "Mute All" is now "Unmute All" (which was originally Snippet 1). Snippet 0 now displays as "Unmute All", as does Snippet 1. However, Snippet 1 is actually "House Audio". Each snippet is off by 1, even though the title is correct. The original Snippet 0, "Mute All" is gone.

I originally started setting up Snippets with Snippet 0. When the loading issue began, I tried starting at Snippet 1, leaving Snippet 0 empty. Now everything is 2 off.

I am at a loss of what to do. The last time I used the Show Control was last year and had no issues. We have done the firmware updates, and now I am experiencing this. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Paul_Vannatto Hi Bob, what firmware version are you using? This was fixed in the latest update (4.04).

Hi everyone, I need some guidance.

I work for a church that is buying a broadcast van for live streaming of services. They want to use MADI to feed the truck the inputs.

    Gear

S32 , M32 Monitor Console (Fed from S32 AES50-A), P16's (fed from Mon), FOH Console (Fed from Mon via AES50-b port)

The main hub of the set-up is the Monitor console as it takes the 24 inputs from the S32 via AES50-A and shares it with the FOH console via AES50-B. I also have P16's being fed from the MON console via AES50-A. I also have 6 LOCAL inputs into the FOH console.

How do I get all inputs (24 from stage + 6 local FOH inputs) to a broadcast van VIA MADI? I know I will need a madi card, I'm assuming it will just be in the MON console as thats the central I/O for the set-up

Both Monitor/Foh consoles are physcially close to eachother so it is possible to plug in those 6 FOH inputs into the Mon console but I'd have to patch them back to the FOH console.

I'm not sure if all the spliting and virtual patching is possible.

    Please advise.

Paul_Vannatto Yes it can be done. I would suggest that you install the Madi card into the FOH console, since the routing is much simpler to the Madi card. On the Routing, Card screen assign AES50 B1-8, 9-16, 17-24 to the first 3 banks of 8 and Local 1-8 for the 4th bank of 8 (assuming you are using the first 6 Local inputs).

    Weird issue-

4.2 Mac crashes on startup on a standard user account, where previous versions start just fine. 4.2 runs fine in the admin account. Created a fresh standard user account, and no problem there, either. Something must be corrupt, or conflicting in the original standard user account. Trashing prefs was the first thing I tried, without effect.

anyone have a clue what's going on here?

The console has sat for 2 years because of Covid 19

Tried to Boot it up and the DSP can not be found

Tried uploading the most recent software no change

Could this be an internal battery problem

    Any sugestions welcome

Hello ! I just bought an M32R and I am looking for sync the bpm from external device only to console delay fx.

I have an arranger keyboard (Korg pa4x), I am playing live all the songs, so the bpm it's there for every song and I am looking to send the tempo to the delay fx.

In user manual, section midi, it's written the commands for control change, etc. I don't need to control the board at all with midi, just to send the bpm from keyboard to console with midi 5pin cable

Is there a way to do this?

    Thank you !

    David.

Paul_Vannatto Hi David, midi clock is not implemented in the X32/M32 midi control. In fact the X32/M32 midi has only a small subset of commands available, compared to the OSC protocol (which is its mother tongue). You would need an interface (such as an arduino or Raspberry Pi) to go between the Korg and M32 in order to convert the midi clock to the delay time (in milliseconds). I had actually started an arduino project to do this. But since I don't personally use midi with my M-Air, X32, or Wing and no one was clamouring for such an interface, the project was archived. If you are interested in this DIY project, I could provide what I have so far.

I have seen several posts about issueees when updating the M32 firmware. I am not running a digital stage box as of now.  Can I update from 3.02 directly to 4.04.1 or should I be updating sequentially? If I save my setup can I load it from a usb to work after the update or will I have to resetup how my board is layed out manually as the routing menus have seemed to change?

Paul_Vannatto Hi Craig, You can update from 3.02 directly to 4.04. But backup your scenes, snippets (and cues by exporting the show to a USB stick) as well as any presets in the Library. Added to that, have a look at the first 4 screens of the Setup and make note of those settings. Updating from 3.x to 4.x will set the M32 to factory default settings. Once you have completed the update to 4.04, you will be able to do a full backup (including the Setup screens).

We are having an issue on input number 1, our kick drum input. We have seen it where it will randomly pass signal but the gain is very low and the frequencies passed through are not correct. Its so intermitent that I cannot say for sure that the number 1 preamp is bad, but I have pretty much ruled out everthing else. Anyone seen this issue before? The unit is only like 2 months old.

KyleJohnson Hi Josh, Kyle with Music Tribe here. A couple of things to check: 1. If you patch that input to a different channel on the mixer, do you have the same issues? 2. If you use a different mic/cable/input source for the input, do you have the same issue? 3. What spec of network cable is in use? Make sure you are using Cat5e. Cat6 or other can lead to sync issues.

      • DL32 Preamp Issue
Indiana Well if I patch that input to a different channel, I do NOT have the same issue. But when i go back to test the original input, the issue has gone away. It is very intermittent, but has only happened on channel 1. We are using Cat5e Shielded cable with Ethercon connectors. Right at 62 meters from FOH to DL32 in rack. Have never had any other issues than this so far. Been working flawlessly.

      • DL32 Preamp Issue
KyleJohnson Could be an intermittent issue with the cable? Or the connection on the mic or the DL32? It wouldn't be a fast test, but you could try switching your kick and whatever is plugged into input 2 for a couple of hours worth of sessions/performance and see what happens. If you see the issue move to input 2, you'd know to look at maybe the xlr or the mic. If the issue continues with a different source device in input 1, it's a safe bet its an issue with the input.

We just moved our Pro 1 inbto a space where we had previously used an X32. We connected to our two DL153 units and everything shows they are connected and talking to each other. We ran software updates on all three units. We routed everything 1 to 1, so the last input on the second unit is patched to channel 32, etc.

The first 8 channels on both units are peaking on the meters at the board, but silently. They don't make a sound. When we plug in a mic, no audio passes through to the board.

Has anyone encountered something like this before? Any ideas what may cause it or how to fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

KevinMaxwell I had an issue like that once and I think it was that the synchronization was set to the wrong device or maybe it was 2 devices were set to be the master.

Solved! Turns out it was a super easy fix and I feel kinda dumb. The stage boxes were set to 48khz and the board needs them to come in at 96khz. Apparently it’s a known issue (though I couldn’t find it on any discussion) that this causes peak noise. As soon as I set the boxes to 96khz, they worked great.
