I've just bought the behringer UMC22 as it was advertised to be good value for money, there is however an issue that has been highlighted on an Amazon review. Inst 2 doesn't work after setting up.
I'm using the interface with guitar rig 5 and it works a charm if i plug the guitar into Line 1, but when I plug into inst 2 i get a signal i.e the green signal light flashes but no audio at all. this hjas been raised on Amazon after I checked some of the reviews, and aledgedly behringer are aware of this issue.
Any ideas for a fix as I'm on the verge of sending this back for a refund if I can't get it working as it should.

Same issue here too. Help is appreciated.

hi guys, i am using my x-touch mini with Traktor to control 3rd deck and my FX. with a bit of midi mapping i have added a lot of functionality but its hard to tell when a button is pressed without looking at the screen
is there a way to light up the buttons when they are toggled on?
thanks all!
ok. i wasnt using the editor right. i now have layer A all working as i want. but when i duplicated it to layer B now i just have 2 identical sets of inputs - layer a or b is irrelevant. if i try to remap is saying for example layer A knob 1 is the same as layer B knob 1.
i thought that with layer a pressed or b it would send a diff signal?!
Hi Liam ( @Liamtip ),
Welcome to the community. Since you duplicated Layer A to B, why would you think they would be anything other than identical? The layer data is the MIDI message assignments as well as the button/encoder behavior. What you need to do is load the default Layer B settings, modify the button behaviors like you did for Layer A, then load those settings into Layer B.
Hope this helps,
Ken
thanks Ken, yes i think i misunderstood the app and messed it up initially.
i also have an issue where its now not always remembering the settings flicking between layer A and B on the encoders.
Hi @Liamtip ,
Can you upload your .bin files so I can have a look at them? You'll likely have to .zip them up since I'm not sure the file upload option allows the .bin file extension. Use "Choose File" in the lower-left to upload the files.
Ken
thanks ken.
i want some buttons to be toggled (fx on off) and some to be just single hits (for pads)
now i seem to hit a toggled button and it turns the light on/off but the doesnt FX btn doesnt work until i hit it a 2nd time putting it all out of sync until i press again. which is odd. i also use the encoders being pressed down for same midi signal and they work fine in 1 shot. maybe its the toggle? seems there is a lack of sync somewhere.
also when i load up traktor doesnt know the encoder settings etc like it does if i use my keyboard's midi controls. toggling lights seems to be the issue maybe?
bins.zipHi, I asked this but don't think I did a good job laying it out. I've attached a drawing this time.
XR-18 connected to X-touch via Cat6, control is there.
I haven't picked my DAW yet, but I have four questions:
1 - Can the Cat 6 connection between the XR-18 (on home router network) connect to the WIN PC for the DAW control part? All three are already connected to home network. I see that I can pick the MC mode on Xtouch config, and choose either Network, USB, or Midi. If I pick network it wants either DHCP or not. Once I get the DAW installed will it connect via the Network selection? Do I need to hard code the IP of the PC, or is it asking for an IP setting for the XTouch?
2 nd question - Must I have that USB connection between the XR-18 and the Windows PC as well in order to get the music to the Win PC? I was hoping it could also use the home ethernet.
3 - What is the best compatible DAW for my purpose - which is just basic recording and basic editing? Example - if this will work with MixPad that would be great since I know how to use it.
4 - If I understand the workflow correctly, I can flip the XTouch between controlling the XR-18 and for controlling the DAW?
Thanks in advance,
Patrik
Home Studio.pngSame setup as mine basically but using a Mac.
DONE. So in Theory what should happen when it works is When you toggle the SMPTE/BEATS buttn on your X Touch it goes back and forth between controlling your Mixer/X Air app and then your DAW.
Hope that helps.
Best DAW for your x touch setup
mac: Logic
PC: Cubase
hi, I have a new x-touch mini. after editing the layers with xtouch edit y have problems with the mcmode, it doesn´t send mi de cc mesagges as well. How can i do a factory reset?
thanks
PD. sorry for my inglish..
Hi Mikel ( @soundcheck ),
Welcome to the community. When you extracted the X-Touch Editor zip archive a folder called "default layer" should have been created. In that folder is "compact" and "mini". In the "mini" folder there are two files called LayerA.bin and LayerB.bin. Load these presets into the X-Touch Mini using the X-Touch Editor. This will restore the factory defaults.

Hi! I bought the X-Touch Extender and I am planning to use it exclusively for the cc midi controllers spaecially CC#1,7,11,21 . I tried my best to let it work but with no luck. I am using Logic pro x and I don't have any other x-touch controllers.
Please advice!
Thank you
The extender is not programmable. You'll have to make your assignments in Logic. I would try Ctrl mode first.
Thank you! @DaveMorrison! It worked on kontakt with libraries but not yet with Logic on CC midi controllers. When using MC mode it works with logic.
The Extender is a weird beast. The only thing it seems to do well is MC (at least in logic). The reason I think Ctrl mode might work is that the Faders transmit CC in this mode as opposed to PitchBend when in MC mode. I think you would have to assign every Knob, Button and Fader in Logic to do what you want. @KenMitchell's advice is very sound as the compact is more versatile.
Nothing on the Extender can be changed (apart from the operating mode).
Have you tried something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bm77G15H6zo
@DaveMorrisonYes! I tried this and it works on instruments or any knotakt library, you can easily assign faders or encoders to already programmed libraries or intruments inside Logic. But I can't find a way to program midi controllers CC#. Maybe there is a way OR AS YOU GUYS SAID IT'S NOT RE-PROGRAMMABLE !!
To start, I ‘ve already set my X-Touch internally to “Mackie Control and USB”
And did the same for my DAW (Digital Performer 9)
When I turn on the power to the X-Touch and move any fader to any position,
after about two seconds the fader returns back to the zero position.
It does the same thing when my X-Touch is connected to the computer.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Thank you in advance for your help.
With my X-Touch, but I only have my X-Touch connected via a USB cable.
When I set up the control surface section in Digital performer version 9,
it identifies my X-Touch connection options:
As “INT-1” (I am assuming this is for the input selection)
And
As “EXT-1” ( I am assuming this is for the output selection)
Also my X Touch is located In the “unconfigured ports section.”
I will try to research what this means.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Hi @Jaxsn ,
When not connected to a computer the faders on my X-Touch act the same way. By lights, I assume you mean the button LEDs. This is also normal when not connected to a computer and when not properly configured in a DAW. There's nothing to tell the button LEDs to light up.
I don't use DP but I'll see if I can download a trial version to help you out. Are you on Windowss or Mac?
Ken
Hi Guys,
Loving my X Touch and wanting to connect some footswitches but can't find any info on what is compatible.
I have a couple of non-latching switches, but they don't seem to be working...
Any advice?
I am very disappointed in this x-touch product.
I can not use this with digital perform 9........
After I plugged the USB in, the x-touch is just a $600
paperweight I wish I knew this ahead of time.
I'm going back to my BFC & BCR 2000, or a different brand.
can anyone help me
Hi @Jaxsn ,
Welcome to the community. What research have you done? Have you visited any site to find out what others have been able to do with DP9 and the X-Touch?
You might want to Google "x-touch digital performer 9" or mackie mcu pro digital performer 9".
The X-Touch is a Mackie MCU Pro clone with improvements.
Hope this helps,
Ken
As Ken mentioned, The X-Touch is a clone of the Mackie Control. Since these units are dumb (not programmable), all functionality is supplied by the DAW (DP). The best place to ask these questions is at motu nation.
Are you using a mac or PC?
Hi, there are no correct measurements of the X-Touch to be found - for a custom case and overlay series, I'd need technical drawings with correct sizes. PDF, AI, DXF, whatever. Who can help me out, please? Behringer support, anyone? Cheers, RT
