I have a umc 1820 and all the audio channel lights are blinking and it doesn't work.

    What can happen?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

I am using my QX1832 as an audio interface for my recordings. However, I just realized that there is a constant background noise from 2.4k-2.6k Hz at -63dB when using QX1832 as input device.(Shown in picture)

Can anyone help me with this? I changed the USB cable but there were not change at all.

    Many thanks,

    Levin

I'm pretty sure this will meet my recording needs, but I don't see what the difference between the two items are, other than about $50 in price.

Do I need to always use my ipad when I record into my daw? Or is it one time set up, power it up and go?

    Thanks

CraigFowler Form factor, slight difference in the IO (TRS vs XLR, RCA vs TS.) Same processing under the hood though.

You don't always need a control surface (be it ipad\tablet\computer) connected once it's all set up. You can probably run the control app from the computer running your DAW, you only need an ipad\tablet if you want to do it wirelessly. It's probably worth having a control surface around; even once you set up all the routing etc you'd need it if you want to change preamp gains.

Edit: Also, the unit's internal wifi isn't very good. It might be fine for a home studio if you're there by yourself and there isn't a lot of interference, but if you're planning on using it live in a place with a couple of hundred people and their smart-phones all generating interference, it's worth getting a separate dual-band wifi router.

How do you SIMPLY send the XR18's FX and EQ to a DAW along WITH the dry signal for each track?

Our XR18's mix sounds perfect LIVE, and that's exactly what I want the computer to record! I DON'T want to add FX and EX to the tracks in the DAW later!

    Hello everyone,

I have a x32 compact with the usb card to hook to my computer/DAW. I have a Fostex VF160 multi-channle recorder that I use for remote recording sessions. the Fostex has Optical ADAT outs. I have a Powerplay 16-I that has Optical ADAT inputs.

I can run the ADAT FROM the Fostex TO the P16-I and hook a P16-M to it and everything works great.

    Okay here is my question...

Is it possible to run the Cat5 cable FROM the P16-I TO the x32 via the ASE50 A or B to get the recording input from the Fostex that is running into the P16-I?

I mean, it seems like it should work like the Digital Snake.

This would allow for my remote recording to be inputed into the x32 while being able to record 16 channels inthe studio.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Mike

I am trying to route a signal out of a local XLR out off a buss and no matter what XLR out I plug into, I get a tremendous amount of white/pink noise on the other end. At first I thought perhaps I had the oscillator on, but I do not. Muting all inputs/channels, busses etc doesn't change anything. Also, there is NO signal from the bus I am routing out of.

    My use case:

Lavalier mic with signal sent to Bus 16. XLR out 13 is configured to send the signal from Bus 16 out to a video camera. (We video record a Pastor's messages and take the out from the lav mic on the M32 into the XLR input of the camera)

KevinMaxwell How are you monitoring that you hear the hiss? Are you listening to the headphone output on the video camera? Is the camera input set to mic or line? Have you tried playing back something like an MP3 payer routed this same path to the camera? If yes how does the playback sound? Do you have another XLR output on the M32 available to try and use that, 12 or under?

Paul_Vannatto What physical output (on the back of the M32) are you using to feed the camera? Once that is established, have a look at the Routing, XLR Out screen to determine what is assigned. Then have a look at the appropriate Routing staging screen (eg Out 1-16) to see what individual output is assigned to the respective physical output.

The easiest way to troubleshoot this is to save the M32 settings to a scene, export the scene (Using the Utility button) to a USB stick, transfer it to a computer, save it to the cloud (eg dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) and provide a shareable link in you next post. That way we can have a look and better advise.
