@marianorusso They have stopped putting date code stickers on a lot (if not all) of their products. Your date code would by March 2018 which is the first 4 digits after the S in the serial number.

Please remove the limitation of X32 Edit that prevents entering of an arbitrary hostname.

On my network, it's convenient to have hostnames for various devices, including my mixers.  However, X32 Edit assumes that we only want to enter IP addresses and actively prevents me from entering any characters otherwise.

Additionally, it would be helpful if X32 Edit support command line parameters, so that a simple shortcut could be made to connect to a mixer and sync immediately on load.

While looking about the user in/out options for use in the 'card out' column, It almost looks to me like the ability to overdub or replace tracks with the X-Live card might be an unintended (or maybe intended) perk with the new 4.0 firmware? See the attached user out patch. Does this not make that user bank of 8 card outs only actually replace local track 6? Card out 1-8 has user outputs 1-8 which is setup for card playback tracks 1-5, 7 and 8 and local input ch 6 as the assignment. Wouldn't this replace 1-5,7 and 8 with a copy of themselves adding (replacing) only the material on local input 6 to track 6?Screen Shot 2019-11-17 at 6.44.18 AM.png

You're right, Gary, it looks as though it could work. I'm sure you'll find the time to give it a whirl...

It will not work! You can't playback from the card while you record. When you hit record every time a new session will be created.

@OliverStein  Thanks. Yup, I was able to give it a shot and it appears to be a no go. Too good to be true and a big case of wishful thinking I guess! You can seperate the USB card playback and the SD section record (or the reverse) but not SD play and SD record within itself. It's one or the other, once in record as you said it's a new session overwritting all tracks not selective tracks, routing be damned. I guess it's back to the old SD to DAW and DAW to SD with track replacement for me. A tad more tedious but not a total deal breaker.

    Hello all,

I'm relatively new to synths, and I'm trying to learn from a very basic intro level. Been happily lost for hours this past week since the Odyssey arrived.

I'm not sure if I've experienced an issue with the Odyssey or my lack of knowledge. When I switch the Audio to LF Keyboard Off, I get pulsed clicks and find it difficult to generate a tone. From the manual, 'adust using the VCO-1 frequency faders'. I just can't seem to get rid of the clicks even if I manage, with luck, to generate a tone.

Is this just part of what's to be found at these frequencies, and something to play around with?

Very grateful for any info or knowledge shared, as basic as you like. Thanks, Gerrard

      Starsky

When VCO 1 is in LF mode (low frequency) it's acting like an LFO, so it will only produce very slow clicking - it's not meant to be heard in isolation but used as a modulation source.

If you're really new to the synth this might prove useful.  It's a walkthrough of the Odyssey for beginners I made a couple of months ago.  I can't ost the lionk but if you google starsky carr ARP ODYSSEY:Tutorial and Demo you should be able to find it.

      Hope that helps

    Hi All,

Is it possible to use the Berhinger MX882 to run 5.1 surround sound through a couple amplifiers and then to the 6 speakers (including 1 sub)? To do this would I need a 5.1 receiver of some sort or might a switch such as this work: Decoder Back.jpg

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    V. 4.0 is similar to V. 3.12 ? And...newest versions only found in the "legacy view". Really funny!

Hi Paul, I am lucky not having software or firmware problems with my X32 Rack.

What I found out was, if the new X EDIT32 V.4.0 software release comes, user I/O routing is available!

V 4.0 has new routing capabilities but it can still be used in the same way as V 3.12.

As @Paul_Vannatto mentioned in another thread, this is not the first time they have downgraded the current version before releasing the new one.

Just now there is nothing. No current firmware and no legacy. The same for X/M-edit. How hard is it to manage a small archive of downloads? Why not simply keep all the old stuff in place unchanged until there is a new version? And keep all lecacy firmware/software available for download.

The user defined bank could be a game changer for routing. Sounds very intersting indeed! Will open up doors for just about everything if it's an additional staging option for aes50, kind of sounds like it could be that. Having 3 staging options (out 1-16, ultranet out and aux out) that are essentially tied to some sort of output port when used (as powerful even as that is) always left you with the potential problem of those ports being off limits, or partly off limits, because of other use in your routing-eg using p16 routing for card out when you also were using IQ speakers or P16M's. If this is in effect almost a 4th virtual staging menu that also can also mix and match single ch types rather than groups of 8, well that's just plain crazy talk!

-mjk- Sure would have been nice to have new FX (such as TC Electronics stuff), dynamics on the FX returns, and and additional insert in each channel/bus. Oh well. At least the dark mode matches my new mobile phone.

Found this kind of by accident and meant to post it as I had not seen the "official" chart version before and it shows the 2 new modes associated with the latest S/DL16 firmwareNew S16 firmware modes.png

I use one x32 only. for FOH and Recording multitrack to cubase5 simultanously. When the show is on, I set my gains to very good levels below -12db. However on my cubase the signals still come in hot over the top. sometimes on my gain the signal is as low as -40 yet I still got hot unuseable signals in my cubase. I want to know if there is a way to use HA gain spliting to get better signals to my DAW. ie, if there is a way to patch my signals through the mixer to use the trim after the FOH gains to lower the signals going into my DAW or the other way round. thanks.

However, I thought if Assuming that the signal that comes from “Direct channel Out” in the routing page is before the preamp if you choose the “Input LC” tap point option in the routing page, Channels 1-16 will get direct physical mic or instrument plug into them, while channels 17-32 will get routed signal from the “Direct out channels” from the 16 physical utput buses wired back to the physical input of 17-32 using xlr link cables.

This is to allow for preamp signals going into my DAW to have independent gain control from the preamps of the 1-16 which will be for the FOH and thus allow for proper recording levels setting. So only channels 17-32 will be selected for recording into the DAW through the xuf card.

ie. when you use channel splitting in config TAB and double a channel the second channel preamp is still being controlled by the preamp of the physical input plugged in as such you can’t adjust the preamp of the split channel for better record levels independently and also the Trim has no effect in in the recording alsoGain Split issue.jpg

These two lights now only come on, when I turn on the power for my speaker. Why? Thanks for an assistance in advance.

Do the come on briefly then turn off, or do they stay on. If it is the latter, you have a hardware problem.
