Hi. With the Linn Selekt room optimisation there is an opportunity to specify which speakers are being used. Unfortunately Linn have not tested the Ardens but do have optimisation profiles for Canterbury, Berkeley, Westminster etc. Would it be ok to take any of the 15" driver models and use this as a starter? Any advice please as I love my Ardens and the Selekt but have limited technical knowledge. Many thanks
In general, Linn's optimization profile should be replaced by Berkeley, which is the most similar, given the age group before 1980 and the enclosure type.
This is a Linn profile (closest) that optimizes the air spring force of a similar enclosure and the Stiffness relationship of the speaker cone.
Before 1980
Arden
Berkeley
After 1981
Canterbury15
Westminster
Hi Folks,
Just a simple query .... Can anyone please tell me what "B/Eye" means in the above title. It's bugging me and I cannot find anything about it on Google!
Many thanks
Hi
My equalizer is making loud crackling noises in the right channel. the left is fine.
I run Mediaportal off a Windows PC which is connected to the Yamaha RX-V871 via HDMI.
This in Turn is connected to a Denon Amplifier withe the equalizer in between (so I can get surround sound and use the equalizer for the main 2 speakers only) The Yamaha has no loopback facility.
any help appreciated!
Neil
Hello Chris, welcome to the community.
I suggest that you raise a Care ticket for Spare Parts explaining your requirements. This is done by clicking on Support at the top of the page and then clicking the Create a Care Ticket button. This is only possible if you have completed the required fields in your profile. The Care ticket is currently the only way to request technical support, service and spare parts from any of the Music Tribe companies.
One of my speakers (Eurolive VS1220) stopped working. Nothing is coming out. What could be the problem and can I fix it?
I have two behringer a500' that I'll be using for an outdoor setup at my house. Both will be running in stereo with a network player connected to one amp with RCA's. The other will be running a single dual voicecoil subwoofer in stereo as well. I'm wondering how I connect the 2 amplifiers together (daisy chain?)
I'm sure it's a simple thing and can be done with a patch cable but want some expert advise to make sure I don't damage my investment.
thsnks
One way is to use a splitter adapter (not a cable) on the network signals left and right channels. This one will work. https://www.amazon.com/yueton-Splitter-Adapter-Female-Convert/dp/B014QK4R44/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=RCA+audio+splitter+adapter&qid=1581471555&sr=8-2" This is 4 splitters, youll only need to use 2 of them. You will need 4 RCA cables to go from the splitter ouputs to the 2 amps inputs. The adapter approach will probably be cheaper than buying 2 splitter cables.
Hi does anyone know if this europower ep2500 amp can run in 4ohm
I am interested in a pair of Tannoy XTF8 speakers. I have no XTF6 speakers in the area but there are some 8's about 40 miles from me. Before I make the drive, I have read a few reviews where it states one must have a fair amount of room for these to sound their best. My room is about 216 or so square feet, roughly 14.5 feet wide and about 15 feet deep with 12 foot ceilings. Any one out there with an idea if these would work and I should make the drive to get them? I am sure I can demo them inmy home but frankly, with the traffic conditions here, I would prefer to do as little driving as possible.
Thanks for the help.
Robert
Perhaps I need to rephrase my question. I need to know or hear from anyone using the Tannoy XTF8 speakers and the size of the room in which those speakers are being used. I do not want to overload my room with bass so when reviewers and others say that the XTF8 needs a "good sized room", what are some examples of a "good sized room"?
Thanks...

I have an old pair (40 years old!) of Tannoy Berkeley speakers. They have the 12" dual concentric speakers. Sadly, I now have a great deal of distortion in one of the speakers I'm not sure if these speakers are even available anymore. Does anyone have an idea of how I might fix/replace one/both of these speakers?
Hi, send mail from Japan. I also have a old Tannoy.
Your case is 2 way buy new one or repair.
Even if the old speaker is distorted, it is difficult to answer because we do not know whether you are the same distortion, but the treble or bass or both, most often the edge supporting the cone deteriorates (always due to gravity For example, the voice coil relative to the magnet pulled down) does not maintain the correct position.
It's actually more complicated, but from the experience of JBL LE8T, this is probably the one thing that's wrong.

I've had a pair of Churchills (043A and 043B) for almost 20 years and have misplaced the manual. It doesn't show up on the list of downloads. Can anyone help me with a PDF copy? Thanks.
