    Midas DL16 no audio output via XLR | Live Portable Sound

    hi - i need help! 

     

    i am getting no audio output from the XLR jacks on my DL16.  it's connected to a M32R and network link LED is green (only one DL16 - wish i had a 2nd to test!)

     

    the DL16 is set to default config 1-8

    when i select the output channels i see level in the LED meter, but i hear nothing (i don't have headphones on site to test audio, but that wouldn't help feed audio to my PA now would it.  i also can't check the ADAT outs)

    i have checked all the routing on the M32R

    i have done a factory reset on the M32R - is there a way to reset a DL16? 

    i do not have a Windoze computer, but will try to find one to update firmware (come on Midas! it is 2022!!) - wish i could check the firmware but i need Windoze to do that too.  

    am using local outputs which luckily work in this scenario (close to stage) but it's infuriating, and can get no help from google - no one has had this exact problem

     

    anyone have any ideas?

      Nigel67 Hi halfnormal, can you send a picture of your routing screen to the AES50 outputs so that I can confirm that you are sending your Outs 1-8 to AES50A 1-8. If you have reset the M32R, then as default your Mix busses are assigned to Out 1-8 (7 and 8 main outputs) which are in turn routed to your local XLR outputs and also your AES50 A and B 1-8, so you should be getting output on your DL16. Can I confirm that in your DL16 Config window, there is no LED lit which means that the outputs are assigned to 1-8. I realise that you have mentioned this above, but I just want to double check. If this is the case, then I think that you will need to raise a Technical Support Ticket and we can investigate further. This can be done by clicking on the support tab at the top of the page. A new window will open. Scroll down and click on the Technical Support tab and submit a ticket. Is this a brand new system or has the DL16 worked previously? Many thanks

    routing music files through Xair software | Live Portable Sound

    Is there any way to use the Xair software to play music files stored on the same pc that is connected to the Xair or does it have to go through the mixer? I am currently using a bluetooth transmitter to send signal from the pc to a bluetooth reciever which is connected to ch 17-18. In short it requires  more hardware, i.e. bluetooth devices, cables and other clutter.

      KyleJohnson Hello, Kyle here with Music Tribe. The X Air Edit software connected by the Ethernet or Access Point connection can not pass audio. You mention you are connecting to channels 17-18 so I assume you have the XR18 or X18. If you have the XR18 or X18 you can connect via USB and use the 18/18 USB Interface to pass audio.

    IP 2000 | Live Portable Sound

    Set up for a gig and when turned on got intermittent crackle like an electrical short. Removed the top tower piece and the sound stopped; put it back on and it started again. Can only assume it was something within the tower section. HF tweeters?

    Need some guidance.

    Effects to monitor with XR18 Behringer, using an Android tablet | Live Portable Sound

    I'm new to the XR18.  I'm using a Samsung note Pro to control the mixer for live sound.  I can't figure out how to place the effects into the monitor mix (aux outs) as well as the mains.   I can get them through the mains - just not the monitors.

    How to control X32 Rack from xtouch and ipad x32 edit app at same time | Live Portable Sound

    Hello,

    I'm trying to setup control of my X32 from both my x-touch and my ipad at the same, without having to put a wireless router in and connect the ipad through wireless to the ethernet network between the x32 and xtouch. I'd rather not have to bring a wireless router out to a gig.

    Is there a way to connect all 3 together with midi?

    mr18 how to play cd from pc via usb | Live Portable Sound

    I cant work out how to play a cd from pc to the mr18 main L/R output.

    No problem with the pc or usb, just dont know how to patch it through the mr18.

    I am using the Midas Air software on wondows pc.

    Any ideas or links to a tutorial would be appreciated.

      KyleJohnson Hello, Kyle here from Music Tribe. You can patch USB 1/2 directly to the Main Out by opening the IN/OUT>Main Out menu and selecting USB 1/2 as the MAIN option. You can also patch the USB 1/2 to any channel input and then make sure you have assigned the Channel to the Main LR. To assign the channel to the Main LR simply select the channel, open the MAIN tab at the top of screen and make sure the LR icon is lit up Orange.

    Is there a way on the WING board to toggle back ad forth between 2 different reverb settings?

      PatrickGMaillot Several options:

      -1- use a GPIO or a CCC layer button and assign FX PAR to it. Clicking on the GPIO/Button will loop through values for the selected FX parameter (except for time on delays: will act as tap tempo)
      -2- use two GPIO or CCC layer buttons and assign INSERT to them . If you can live with the two FX on different insert points, you can ON/OFF them by clicking on their respective button (needs two clicks)
      -3- use a GPIO or a CCC layer button and place a small app to read from it and change the FX data for you on a single click

      ahp5919 It looks like you can assign the FX parameter to a custom control knob and turn it left or right, but I can't seem to figure out how to use a custom control button to toggle between two different reverb decay times. Please help. Thanks

      PatrickGMaillot Don't know where my reply went...

      What you describe [control knob to FX par] is basically what I mentioned as option -1-, using a knob rather than a button.

      Until MT provide in their future FW versions a show/scene control with a mechanism to assign a snippet to a button [if that is one day a possible action], you are limited to the 3 options I mentioned.

      ok two follow up questions then. 1) How can I add this feature request for the developers to see it? 2) Is there a way to use GPIO or custom controls to toggle between two volume levels on a fader? thanks

      PatrickGMaillot I'm tired of this forum... my answers do not show up. I did reply earlier today, but I don't see my answer. Anyways, the answer to your questions are to use the forums (this one; I know MT follows it) or facebook, one of the WING groups.
      BTW demos to what you're after, using option -3- above have just been posted to facebook WING groups with wxfade 2.1 update, exactly what you're after.
