I have started using DP48 for my M32 mixer with DL32 stagebox. On DL32 I connect M32 on AES50-A and HUB4 with DP48 on AES50-B. This means that I have ch 1-32 from DL32 goes to 1-32 on DP48 and I can send 16 channels from M32 to DP48 via the last 16 channels. The problem I have is that when I set DP48 from the table, all channels are set correctly in the groups but the text is moved 16 channels up. If I program ex kick drum on channel 1 and on group 1, it ends up on group 1 but the text kick drum comes on channel 17 on DP48.

Paul_Vannatto Hi Marcus, it is because the routing assignments to the AES50 B is incorrect. I would suggest you export your scene to a file and save it to the cloud (eg. Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) and provide the shared link in your next post. That way we will be able to look at your routing setup (using M32-Edit) and better advise.

      • Problem M32 and DP48
Marcus73 Hello Paul. The problem comes when I use the AES50B from DL32. When I use the AES50B from the table, it gets right. But then I take the signals from the DL32 that enter the AES50A and send on to the AES50B. I will send the file in the link. /// Marcus https://1drv.ms/u/s!ApgXFzba6huWtkldbslIttF2d3cm?e=oDfttl

Paul_Vannatto Hi Marcus, if the routing works connected to the console, but not when connected to the DL32 B port, it probably means that the DL32 is seeing the DP48 as a console. There are 2 modes of the DL32 B port (see pages 10-11 in QSG) and the DL32 automatically switches, depending on whether it thinks that a stagebox is connected or a console. The AES50 outputs out the B port with a console connected are the DL32 inputs, not what is passed through from the A port. It would be better to get a Hub4 and connect M32 <> Hub4 <> DL32 and connect the DP48 to one of the 4 ports of the Hub4.

      • Problem M32 and DP48
Marcus73 The solution you have When you go from M32 to HUB4 to DL32, the switch on HUB4 drops if the line out is to be from FOH or DP48. Because in your solution you have to take CH1 to 32 from DL32 and send to HUB4 on channel 17-48. On CH 1-16 you have the mix buses that will send a signal to the line out on DL32.

In the configuration that you suggest, channels 1 to 32 from DL32 will end up on channels 17 to 48 on DP48. This is what causes line out from HUB4 to lose its function to be able to have line signal to inea or sidefill from FOH on those outputs. For it to work, you must either run an AES50 signal from the B output from the mixer or run from the B output from the DL32.

But when I run from the B output from DL32 it will be wrong in the channel text it will be moved 16 channels up if I do not program it on the AES50-B output from the mixer and hope that it does not DP48 forget the settings when you move it to stage or if you need to add any channel to DP48.

      • Problem M32 and DP48
Paul_Vannatto If you connect FOH <> Hub4 <> DL32 and assign the first 2 AES50 banks (1-16) for the DL32 and the rest (banks 3-6, ie 17-48) for the DP48, the DL32 will get the desired signals for its outputs (1-16) and you can select the desired channels (from AES50 17-48) for the 12 groups on the DP48. I've configured my setup this way many times without any issue and I've been using the Hub4/DP48 since June 2019 (as a beta tester).

      • Problem M32 and DP48
Marcus73 I'm out on some fixed installations and on those where they have two DL16 so I can use the B output on the last DL16 and send to HUB4 and then on to DP48 But in the places where they use DL32 it does not work. One reason why I want the function to transmit from AES50 B from DL32 is that there is a fixed cable from mixer to DL32 that is not on stage but in a room next door. This allows me to run a long cable between the technology room to the stage and then back to the technology room. If you can link further like DL16 or that you can get the 32 channels from DL32, it saves unnecessarily long wiring that can cause problems.

Hi! On the Midas web page it says (and has been saying for a long time): “ HUB4 easily interfaces with the new Midas DL8 stage box”.

    How is the DL8 coming?

    Hey guys,

I'm using my MR18 as an audio interface paired with Pro Tools. In Pro Tools, when using hardware inserts in the mixer, it apparently is required to match the number of the output / send channel with the number of the input / return channel. Is this in any way possible with the MR18?

I have now sent the output of one track to channel 9 of the MR18, which is set to "USB input", this channel then sends a signal to Aux 1 which goes to the hardware and the output of the hardware is connected to channel 8 of the MR18, which I then record in Pro Tools. The downside of this, is that I cannot use the insert i/o functionality in Pro Tools which can be really handy if you're also using plug-ins on the channel.

Is there any option deep in the MR18 that can be used to make Pro Tools think that the return signal is also coming from channel 9?

    Thanks!

Paul_Vannatto Using M-Air Edit, make sure the the assignments in In/Out USB Returns and USB Sends screens are one-to-one correlated (eg. Chan 1 -> Input 1, Chan 2 -> Input 2, etc.). Then they should line up in the DAW.

    Bonjour,
    Merci.

    Hello guys,

I use the Midas MR18 primarily as a recording interface. I use a Behringer P16M for monitoring while recording vocals. Sometimes, I'd like to add some compression and reverb for monitoring, which I do not want to have printed into the recording. I can add a compressor to the effects chain as an insert, but is it also possible to add reverb to this? I tried using sends but can't get it to work. What signal type should I select in the Ultranet monitoring panel?

    Best regards!

RexBeckett Hi dgstudio, if you use a Pre Fader signal tap for Ultranet routing, the signal will contain the channel processing - including any inserted FX and channel EQ/Dynamics. The normal signal tap for USB Sends (recording) is Analog which does not include any channel processing.

Most reverb FX models are not suitable for insertion in a channel/bus. This is because they do not have a Mix control so will be 100% Wet. There are a few (e.g. Modulation Delay) that do have Mix controls so can be inserted. You can only insert one FX in any channel or bus but you could use the in-channel compressor and insert a delay/reverb.

Usually time-based FX (Delay, Reverb, etc) are used as Send/Return processors. Multiple channels can be fed to one or more of the four FX Send buses. The FX Returns are then added to the required mix. In your case, you could route one or more of the FX Returns to spare Ultranet output channels (again Pre Fader taps) and add to the monitor mix as required. Note that FX Send buses are mono and FX Returns are stereo.

    Hello,

I use the Midas MR18 primarily as a recording interface through USB. This works great. However, I have a few external outboard compressor I'd like to use when mixing. What would be the easiest way to set this up? And do the AUX outputs on the MR18 posess enough quality to not degrade the signal too much?

    Best regards!

RexBeckett There is really only one way to use external effects with the M/X-Air mixers: Send the dry signals through Aux outputs and bring the returns back through spare channels. Depending on the effect, it may be necessary to remove the original (dry) channel from the Main mix by clicking on the LR button on the channel's Main tab.

The Aux outputs on the MR18 are to the same spec as the Main outputs so good quality. The signals will be subject to the additional D/A and A/D conversions in the mixer as well as any in the external effects, though. This could potentially degrade the signals and will add a small amount of latency (approx 0.8ms for the mixer input to output).

We are currently using firmware v1.4 on our 4x DP48s. Can someone point me to a full revision history from v1.4 to the latest v2.0. I can only find revision history for v2.0. Is there a full user manual to go with this firmware? All I can find is the quickstart guide and that is for v1.3 of firmware.

Has anyone update to this firmware version and can vouch for it's stability/reliability?

Hi everyone, I'm using a Midas f32 mixer and I'm trying to record on a Macbook pro with M1 chip. I already tried to download midas drivers but no one works for my macbook. My macbook does not receive any information from the mixer, I think midas hasn't released current drivers yet, so If you have some solutions I would be grateful, if you haven't, I urge Midas to release new drivers!

Hey there everyone, I'm new to the forum, I have that MIDAS H-3000 which is sadly stuck in the LOCK mode.

As soon as I press on the system button, the segment display tells me I'm in LOCK mode.
The UP and DOWN button doesn't do anything, the confirm button either. If I press CANCEL, the LOCK disappear.

I'll mention that the LOCK LED is lit but it's really dimmed.

I measure the Power on the output of the 12V REG1, I have 12V.

Something weird is that I have 11.2V on the XL Auto Central Control Panel board.

Anyone ever experienced this problem? Would it be more related to power or maybe a logical gate?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

I saw a few discussions describing the same issue I have, but I have not found a solution yet.

I have Windows 10 and Mac (upon my knowledge, DL32 only allows Windows OS to update the firmware).

I tried to connect DL32 with win 10 laptop, powered on the DL32, and laptop notices the cable connection because it makes the noise/notification sound when there's a connection.

So, I ran the program, but as soon as it launched it quitted automatically. (When I first launched it, it warned me that the file may not have been downloaded correctly and asks me what to do - I said it is downloaded correctly)

Does anyone know the solution for this using Windows 10 OS?

I saw someone said it may have been updated, but is there a way to check the firmware?

    Thank you.
