    Hello,

What's the best Youtube video to get my new Behringer Air XR 18 set up with my ipad?

I am running a Behringer X32 at our church. We have a bus that controls our sub-woofer. The only problem is that when we turn everything down with the L/R main channel the sub is still pumping out low end. Is there a way I can link my sub bus to my master L/R so that everything is controlled by that one fader?

Paul Vannatto Hi Chris, currently the only thing that can be linked to the LR is the mono (M/C) bus, by selecting the "M/C depends on Main LR" setting on the Setup, Config screen. If you use the Main M/C for your sub. This will be the solution. Typically we don't adjust the Main LR, but fade the various channels either using the channel strip fader(s) or via DCA.

    Good Afternoon to all,

I wonder if there is any official literature, manual, quick start guide, detailed presentation or video tutorials for Herritage-D? Can somebody send me a link or give a date that anything of these would be available?

    Thanks in advance,

Forgive me, I just unboxed the XR12 and it seems there's no way to use it as a source for Zoom calls.  I've got an Atem Mini Pro and a Windows 10 Computer and I just want Zoom to see the XR12 as an audio source.  Is this possible or should I box it up and return it to Amazon?

Rex Beckett Hi Paul, the USB socket on the XR12 (and XR16) can only be used to record and play stereo wav files to/from a USB stick. You would need an XR18 to get a multichannel USB connection to a PC.

Alternatively you could use an additional USB interface to connect analogue outp.uts from the XR12 to a PC.

The recently announced Behringer Flow 8 mixer may be a good alternative once it starts shipping.

Paul Walhus OK so it's "plug and play" and with the XR18 I would just run a usb cable to the Windows 10 box (install whatever drivers) and Zoom would see the XR18 as a device? 18 channels is way more than I need though, is there a more basic solution that would have way fewer channels?

      • Can the Behringer XR12 be used as a usb source for zoom calls
Rex Beckett Yes Windows supports the XR18 through specific drivers. Although the XR18 supports eighteen bi-directional USB channels, Windows only supports them all through an ASIO interface. Most DAW software supports ASIO but Zoom does not so would treat the XR18 as a stereo device.

There are several other possible solutions depending on what facilities you want. For simple mic and/or instrument connections for use with Zoom, the Behringer UMC204HD works well.

Dave Morrison As Rex mentioned, you can connect via USB: however, an analog connection to your ATEM mini pro is a great solution. I do that with my X32 (because the USB interface is used for other purposes).

Paul Walhus So I sent the XR12 back and I'm getting an XR18 in it's place as well as a BEHRINGER Audio Interface (UMC404HD). What are the pros and cons of having Windows treat the XR18 as a stereo device? Can you explain for a novice like me what this means in more basic terms "Although the XR18 supports eighteen bi-directional USB channels, Windows only supports them all through an ASIO interface. Most DAW software supports ASIO but Zoom does not so would treat the XR18 as a stereo device."

I'm using M/C (Mono Channel) for the subwoofer.

How do you assign the OUTPUT of the M/C to the physical XLR OUT in the back of my X32RACK so I can connect to my Sub woofer amp? (Would like to use #6 as its next to the LR outs)

Dave Morrison The instructions depend on firmware version and whether you do it at the console or using X32_Edit because the labels vary by version. If your Routing:XLR tab is set at default (Out 1-8, 9-16), then go to the Routing:Out (or Out 1-16) tab. Set (the source) MC to be Output 6.

      • X32Edit - How to assign Mono Channel (M/C) to the physical XLR Out on the back of the X32?
Christer Hiort Thanks ! As I noted below it was easier to see it on the iPad.

Christer Hiort SOLVED: I could not see how to do this in X32-EDIT but on the iPad it is much easier to see it in the routing section.

Can I change how channels are shown on the iPad in the X32 Software?

    I.e, can the first channels on the view be e.g MixBus1 MixBus2 Ch1 Ch2 Ch3. etc ....

I must admit that I'm puzzled that there has been no mention of the release of a new firmware for the X32 ecosystem in this area. I *think* that it was released on the 17th and this is precisely where I would expect to see the announcement but ...

Also, I believe that there is a new X32-Edit version, 4.2, although whether or not it is new I can't really tell since that sort of thing doesn't seem to rate mentioning here (and I lurk here every day). All I know is that I was running the previous version and have now upgraded to the latest.

Finding the software on the Behringer site is potentially tricky since there are two ways to go. If you navigate to the X32 product page you can either click the Downloads button at the top (which is what I tried because ... that's how everyone else on the planet does it) or on the right side of the page there is a software link. The software link is where to find everything, *not* the Downloads button. I don't know what the Behringer web programmers have been smoking but it must be pretty wild and crazy stuff. But then I guess we all knew that since the introduction of the new and improved forum. ;)

Paul Vannatto Hi Keith, yes the new firmware (4.04) and Edit (4.2) were released this week for both X32 and M32. You are correct that the best way to download these updates is by selecting them from the Software side panel, rather than the (older method of) Download.

The one big thing they added to both is the DCA spill feature. In the Edit, it is the last item in the Utility dropdown.

Keith Brown Yes. I have yet to try the DCA spill feature but it looks interesting and potentially a useful new feature.

RuneHagen I tried this firmware and when i tried to use the buttons for busses 1-16 on my X-Touch it hanged my X32-rack. Connection lost from both X-Touch and X32-Edit. had to turn the mixer off and on to get it up and running again. Tried different settings, XCTL, XTCL+MCU and XTCL+HUI but same result. I downgraded to 4.03 and now it is working fine again.

Paul Vannatto Thanks for reporting this issue. I don't have an X-Touch, so can't verify, but have logged it on the beta-tester's site.

Paul Vannatto You are most welcome to do so. It will eventually be forwarded to the beta-testing team.

KlausMock Hmm, I recently tested it on my system (X32 Rack, X-Touch and X32-Edit) and cannot reproduce it. I am running all three components on the same switch and do not use DHCP for X32 and X-Touch.

I have the X32 Rack new for the church.

Im now trying to set it up for my rather simple setup but I want to make notes as I do ir for busses and sub groups.

Anyone have a routing sheet template that they use that they care to share ?

    Thanks

Paul Vannatto Hi Randy, don't bother with the internal wifi. We are all recommending using an external wifi (dual or tri band) router. Switch to ethernet on the console.
