I’m putting together an in-ear monitor (IEM) rack system based around an X32 Rack for my local cover band. We frequently run our own FOH sound using our own PA, and I think I’ve got that part figured out. The X32 Rack has eight XLR outs which we’ll allocate as follows: XLR out 1-6 will be used to send four mono mixes to the in-ear transmitters and one stereo mix to a hard wired pack. We’ll use XLR out 7 & 8 for the PA outs (XLR 7 for subwoofer and XLR 8 for the mids/highs coming from Matrix 1 & 2, respectively). BTW, we run our own PA in mono for the clubs we play.

However, we also play some venues that have their own PA and FOH mixer. We’d like to use and run our own IEM system even in those venues. But, we will need to send our (roughly 16) mic inputs (drums, guitar, vocals, etc.) to the venue’s FOH mixer. It seems the usual way to do that is to use rack mounted mic splitters and send one set of the signals to our X32 Rack and the other set to FOH. That should work, but I was thinking another way to accomplish that would be to add an S32 in the rack (instead of the dedicated mic splitters) and use the S32 as a mic splitter. We’d always plug our mic inputs into the S32 inputs and send those to our X32 Rack via AES50 for our IEMs. I was thinking (hoping!) that with the proper routing, we could use the 16 XLR outputs of the S32 to send a copy of our mic inputs to FOH. Is that a feasible option? Can we send copies of our mic inputs out (via the S32 XLR outs) to FOH pre-input gain (so FOH can adjust gain as they see fit)?

Any advice would be appreciated, in particular how to route the mic inputs back out through the S32 XLR outs pre-input gain.

    Thanks!

Paul_Vannatto Hi Jay, yes you could use an S32. But I would suggest using two SD8 (less cost and they have combination inputs). The downside of doing it this way is that only you would have preamp (gain and phantom) control, not FOH. Some FOH techs will insist on having their own preamp control, which could only happen using mic splitters. If you do decide to use S32 (or 2 SD8), I can help you with the routing.

JamesPaul My advice is to analog split with ground lift switches if budget allows, otherwise pack a few ground lift barrels if going the 8 channel 1ru rack variant route. Less potential for hardware, cable, operator failure or error, with the advantage of separate house/IEM gains control.

CraigFowler 16 channels of transformer-isolated analogue splits would be significantly cheaper and more flexible than 2x SD8s or an S32.

Two of these would work: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MS8000--behringer-ultralink-ms8000-microphone-splitter

I am un able to use the talkback or hear any sound out of either side of the headphones jack on the Behringer X32.

I've Factory reset the board but still have no input from the on board mic or ext mic, the monitor shows bars on the meters but no sound out.

I've also tried to route the talkback through the P16 but the prevailed nothing.

Is there something that I am missing?

Paul_Vannatto Did you make output assignments, etc. on the Talkback screen?

rssgmatt Yes, went to every out plus L/C and MC still no output.

Paul_Vannatto Did you enable the Talkback and press the Talk A or B? On that screen, are you seeing a signal on the VU meter? If not, you might have a mic problem - if it is a condenser mic, it won't work since there is no phantom available on that input).

I had my SD16 for 6 months now.  It suddenly appears with high-frequency noise even nothing connects to that particular channel.  After long troubleshooting, we can conclude the noise came from when we enable 48V power to the channel.  It starts from ONLY one channel, and now we spot 3 channels that have the issues.

Can anyone advise a resolution and confirm when we enable that 48V power, is there any additional settings require on the SD16?

Paul_Vannatto I would say you have a hardware issue and suggest you click on the Support (above) and fill in a repair form to create a ticket.

    Hello all,

in December 2021 I bought the Behringer X32 full version.

    A really great mixer.
I'm just having some trouble setting up the X32 as a DAW controller.

What I personally find a pity is that the DAW controlling only takes place on the right side and not on all faders, so also the 16 faders on the left.

There are many videos on Youtube how this was done at ProTools and Studio One, among others.

Surely this should also be possible in Cubase?
Does anyone have an idea how I could get this working?

Why didn't Behringer make sure that all faders can work as DAW controllers? Software wise could this be included in an update?

Are there people here who can give me tips on how to properly set up the DAW controlling, or maybe people who have all faders working in Cubase Pro?

Thank you very much for your help and advice,

    Ron.

Any word on an ETA for a full scenes/snippets/snapshots update for the wing? I have heard that it's in the works but it seems to have been that way for a while.

This board has potential to be such a great theatre console but the lack of proper scene management is a dealbreaker.

I am having trouble getting my Odessey, Neutron, and 2600 hooked up so that they are getting sounds out of all three. I have plenty of patch cords and midi cords. Just no sound.

I am incredibly annoyed. Why does this global company skimp on a simple but necessary further development of a product? Isn't it almost cheating when Behringer continues to advertise its DeepMind with iPad connectivity, but this connectivity simply doesn't exists? Behringer, shame on you!

We use a Behringer UFX1204 for recording at our church. Currently we are using a Windows computer. We would like to switch to a MacBook Pro, but I am not finding a USB Driver download for a MacBook Pro. I only find a download for Windows. Is there a USB Driver for MacBook Pro that we can use for the UFX1204?

Paul_Vannatto Because all Behringer products (including the UFX1204) are core compliant, drivers are not required for Mac and linux computers (including Raspberry Pi). Only Windows computers require drivers.

I am thinking of using the Flow 8 as the audio interface and live mixer for my PC. Can it be used as an audio interface? And are the functions the same when used with a PC and not an iOS device?

Can anyone actiualyl doing this please share experiences and any issues?

    Thanks
