    Hi,

it would be nice to have corner in this forums (perhaps even some kind of database), where it is possible to share presets for FX, EQ, dynamics etc.

    thanks

If behringer doesn't want to do this then www.x32user.net is already set up for this purpose

It just seems that noone wants to upload anything, not even the site administrator. The only preset that is online just initializes the console, and I wouldn't waste a scene slot for that one when I just need to go into the Setup menu.

Have any of you early adopters located a case for the X32?

I corresponded with Gator last month and they seemed oblivious to the wave of X32s that's about to come ashore.

Our friends across the pond are getting a nice case from Thomann, but shipping from GB would be a bit much!

    http://www.thomann.de/gb/thon_case_behringer_x_32.htm

Partick Ferdig, VP, CARE - MUSIC Group Services US Inc., is checking with product management to see what he can find out regarding a flite case for the X32.

    Thanks ...

This looks great, just wondering if there will be a future update to include controlling other parameters. I use a console now that allows control over almost everything with my ipad. Eq, compression and gating on all channels and buses! Its great to be able to make changes anywhere in the room, or ringing out the monitors with an ipad, that is something I just love and will not sacrifice. I will switch in a heart beat if this is in the works.

Bob Harvey Agreed ... I'm ready to move from my Presonus Studio Live to the X32, but I have gotten spoiled to moving about the room with the iPad able to control all dynamics.

Additionally, it would be convenient to have an iPod & iPhone app for the folks on stage to readily adjust their monitor levels.

      Chris Painter Hi guys!

We just wanted to let you guys know we have Version 1.2 available for the XiControl iPad app on iTunes. Of course, there will be lots more updates to come in the future, but we have some significant improvements for you guys on this one!

      XiControl Version 1.2

      What's New in Version 1.2

      * Channel Parametric EQ Control – fine-tune EQ from anywhere in the room

      * Expanded Metering - whether you use the iPad remotely or at the console, levels at a glance

      * Customizable positioning of the Home/Detail/Setup tabs prevents accidental operation

      * Reset panorama to center by double-click on Pan control

      * Precision Numerical info display above detail parameter sliders

      * Bird's Eye View of all faders and meters in Page Select row for quick view of all channels

      IMPROVEMENTS

      * Touch recognition performance improvements

      * Home button function now also on the XiControl icon

      * Channel Sends page now shows the bus color and assigned names

      * Selected bus for the Sends-on-Faders function is now displayed with color, assigned name and icon

      Best,

      InactiveUser Thanks Chris.

      It looks really great.

I have not tried it only yet, but at least offline there seems to be a lot of bugs.

      -Minifaders not updating

-Low cut showing a an odd curve on the eq display

-only bus 1-8 named by deafult

But great features!! I'll try to test them live tomorrow.

One thing I just noticed. If im using eq band four as a VEQ and want to change that to PEQ and I might have some unwanted effect while changing as I have to tap trough the low cut etc. I can't see a way to implement it better without loosing the flexibility but maybe someone can come with an idea.

Dale Waite I was wondering when you were going to update the Ipad App. It was working great until the iphone 5 came out and Apple upgraded their Ipad to work with iphone 5. This caused your App to not show faders on some of the pages. I performed the upgrade and now this bug is fixed. Thanks again.

InactiveUser One key feature this app needs is access to the output delays.

Personally I find using an iPad to remote to a computer running x-Control to be a much better remote than the iPad app. I do this also with other digital desks with offline software. IOS is a very limited operating system, using the iPad as a remote to a computer running the consoles offline software live yields far greater control, the only difference is you give up multitouch, but this is moot for system tuning and setup or soundchecks.

OK, I am a bit unclear about hooking up line level (keyboards and effects) to the X32... in the Sound on Sound review it said the impedance was 12k? input impedance and would accept line level.

In the Sonic Lab video review it was mentioned a DI Box was required...

So, should a simple XLR - TRS snake be enough to connect the X32 directly to line level instruments?

    Thanks

      Hello,

A DI box is not required if the source is balanced. Ultimately, you should be able to connect from balanced line sources directly to the X32 with no problems, because the X32 has a really wide gain range. However, you'll find the gain controls on the X32 will be set very low.

For the best possible results we still recommend using DI's, because they use balancing transformers. This would be especially important if your going long cable lengths, such as through a 150 ft snake for example.

Keep in mind, you always have the 6 AUX line inputs as well on the X32. Not sure how many keyboard sources you have, but there's 6 line channels available. These can be balanced or unbalanced sources.

      I hope this helps!

Can you clarify this? I thought there were 6 mono AUX line inputs which you could use as 3 stereo pairs. Are there some more somewhere?

      James,

Besides the 32 XLR mic inputs on the back, you also have six 1/4" line level inputs. These do not have the Midas designed microphone preamps like the other 32 channels. They are designed for signals that are already line level. If the keyboards are near the X32, this might be an additional solution for interconnecting your keyboards.

No you're not missing anything, there are 6 MONO TRS inputs and 6 MONO TRS outputs. These are limited function line level only, (no mic pre) with eq but no dynamics.

jenkinsj So, that doesn't imply 6 stereo line channels. As I thought, there are 6 mono line channels or 3 stereo pairs using the AUX connections.

Nick Davis here are a few feature requests:

      1. GEQ - incorporate option for feedback detection ( not destroyer ).

      2. Compressor - auto release option

      4. re - playback of recorded tracks via usb/fiwi - addition of ability to set markers for the transport start points

      5. re - playback of recorded tracks via usb/fiwi ( or incorporated when the proposed enhancement to allow direct recording to standalone hard disk) - addition of recording automation of all mixing parameters ( selectable) say to the usb stick - This was a feature of the old DDX3216 - and would improve ability to mix otb.

Kevin Hunter To expand a little on Nicks suggestion (no 1)

Overlay the GEQ on top of a RTA or SMAART (the way the Presonus does) this really helps ringing out feedback.

Dave Korman or go a little further and have a button that automatically sets the GEQ to the inverse of the RTA display to give a fast starting point to the manually tweak?
      • August 13, 2012

      InactiveUser 1. I'll second the de-esser.

      2. Ability to gang 2 consoles together (x32 + x32, x32 + x16, x16 + x16).

      3. Ability to select inputs in smaller blocks than 8.

      4. Implementation of permissions, particularly for the iPad app. (See StudioLive)

      5. Meter bridge add-on.

      6. Video out that mirrors the console. To me this adds a huge amount of operational redundancy, so that if the screen breaks or gets bashed that I can still use the console. (In a pinch it's easier to add a monitor than come up with a whole computer + software.)

      7. Keyboard and mouse over USB.

      8. Tone generator.

Wondering if its possible to utilize a Dugan automixer via adat with this mixer? Also if it is can the channel inserts be post fader in the ADAT mode?

Typical configuration would be 8 in 8 out via adat and the dugan would be inserted at the channel in the post fader mode.

I see that you have ADAT I/O on the Aes50 stage box but is it routeable to the channel inserts and can the send/return be post fader?

Chris, the Adat Outs on the S16 are just that, OUTPUTS, there isn't any Inputs!

As far as a Dugan goes its my understanding that Behringer are working on a software version as the Dugan copyright is now in the Public Domain!

      Good luck
