TL;DR - Do the Xenyx series mixer & USB interfaces able to send the channels separately into a DAW or are they all combined into one single output?

I'm considering one of the Xenyx series USB mixers to replace my audio interface. What has me interested in it is the onboard compressor and EQ. Is it able to record two channels separately and simultaneously? What I'd like to do is have the first channel record a clean signal into my DAW, then take that same signal and run it back through the second channel and use the effects (comp & EQ) to do some basic processing to monitor with while tracking.

If I'm not explaining it well enough, here's an example. Say I were recording vocals. I’d run a mic into channel 1 clean with no compression or EQ on the mixer affecting the signal. I'd then like to run that same signal back through the mixer into channel 2 and use the compressor and EQ to set up a monitoring channel without having to use up CPU with plugins and cause added latency to my monitoring.

Ideally, I'd like for the mixer to at least record the unprocessed 1st channel. This way I can cater the mixing/processing more specifically later to the song I'm working on in case whatever I chose to do when monitoring doesn't work in the context of the full mix. The second channel doesn't have to be recorded, but if the mixer is unable to provide the outputs of the channels to my DAW separately, it wouldn't give me the clean, unaffected recording that I actually want

Is this even possible to do this with one of the Xenyx series? Would there actually be any benefit to doing this or would this process just create latency in itself?
Are there any alternatives for doing as I've described? I've been having issues with major latency while tracking recently that tech support for my DAW and interface are unable to reconcile. I figure if I can get this setup, I can get back to creating and stop wasting my studio time trying to troubleshoot and can wait until I have more free time to work on the issue later.

Thanks for any help, it will be greatly appreciated

Paul_Vannatto The Xenyx USB outputs a stereo (2 track) feed from the Main outputs. If you need multi-track outputs, your options are XR18, X32 or Wing consoles.

We have an X32 Rack we use for an in ear system. It is currently set up with 2 S8 splitters and I have a 16-channel snake going out to connect to FOH. I need to expand that to 32 inputs and 16 monitor sends but want to avoid the 2 extra splitters and the extra snake.  I know I can get 1 or 2 S16’s for the expansion.  We do not use our own FOH board and rely on each venue’s FOH equipment.  I know if the venue has Midas or Behringer we are good with cat 5.   Will other brands mixers accept the cat5 feed?  What’s my best solution to this?

DaveMorrison No other mixer brands support AES50. DANTE can be implemented on most every mixer, but it's usually optional just as it is with Behringer/Midas.

I will need to have 2 drops. 1 on stage right and 1 on stage left. Do I need to have an S8 Splitter, an SD8 stage box(or S16) and tails coming from each box? Then cat5 from each box to the X32 rack?

    I have a firmware quote.

I currently have X32_Firmware_4.02, so my question is this can I go straight onto X32_Firmware_4.06

Or must I first go to:

    1. X32_Firmware_4.03

    2. X32_Firmware_4.04.1

    3. X32_Firmware_4.04

    4. X32_Firmware_4.06 Finally

I made a short video to explain what's going on

When I use Oscilator 3 (or the LFO) to modulate the filter at Audio Rates I can hear the oscillator through the output, even if I switch it off in the Mixer section.

By the way the LFO does the exact same thing. I forgot to demonstrate, but if I change the modulation source to the LFO and turn it up into audio rate you can hear it, it's just a lower pitch because it's not as fast as Osc3.

I would expect the oscillator to be silent, but I can hear it even when I close the filter and turn down resonance entirely. This is desired behavior. If it's a faulty unit I will return it, but if it's just a limitation/quirk of an older synthesizer design I will live with it. It's not like I use audio rate filter modulation in 95% of patches, but I do love me a vowely formant synth sound.

I'd love to hear what you think. Let me know if this is not enough info to recreate it and you want a patchsheet.

Is it possible to plug a midi controller into the midi in port and pass notes to my PC for driving a virtual instrument?  Reading the manual implies that midi is only used for remote control and internal functions.

    Hi,

I’m not sure about how correctly using my UMC204HD interface with my my electric guitar (passive pickups).

Of course, i’ve plugged it in through the usual 6,3 jack and I set the Inst mode.

But I noticed when I don’t use the pad button, the guitar signal is so high that I need to set the gain to 0. And even so, the signal gets clipped. Is it supposed to behave that way with an electric guitar with passive pickups?

So, it seems the only way for me is to use the pad button with a 50% gain. I’m suprised so.

    Regards,

Hello, I am hearing very faintly the click track which is on channel 15 on the mains. It's barely there but it's there. I've connected my mackbook/ipad/pc everything using numerous programs logic, cubase, prime multitrack also using 1/8 to two 1/4 and USB... I've checked the routing/bus output LR it's turned off on all busses, fx turned down, reset, everything I could think of.

The strange thing is that if I lower the channel on the busses bleed goes away.

Right now I have a the ducker running so it can mask off the sound and lowered the gains so I can barely hear it but again it's there. When I run click there's nothing happening on the main meter so that control does nothing. Volume goes up and down depending on how loud it is on the individual channel on the busses.

Paul_Vannatto In all likelyhood, you have a parallel signal path somewhere. I would suggest that you export your scene to a file, save to the cloud (eg. Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) and post a shareable link in your next post. That way we can have a look and better advise.

Paul_Vannatto I had a look at your scene and do not see any parallel signal path or any Main LR enabled incorrectly. I did see that the click also goes to the card (to computer DAW?) and Aux 1/2 is assigned the card 1/2 returns. But that is muted and faders all the way down. The only other possibility is that one or more of the mics might be picking it up from the floor wedges.

I absolutely love the Behringer Monopoly, but sadly its missing the built in step sequencer other Behringer synths have.

If connected via midi, could I use the keys of the Monopoly to program the step sequencer of a Behringer Crave (including cords), then use the step sequencer of the Crave to let the Monopoly play?

If the step sequencer of the Behringer Crave is not able to save cords, would the step sequencer of a Behringer Poly D be able to do the job?

Just got a new SX3242FX, and when I went to test a wireless microphone, I receive a signal on all ends and the audio is outputted. However, the main/ master volume level meter is stuck on full volume, nothing seems to change a thing at all. Any suggestions?

Nigel67 Hi warand1542. Was it like this as soon as you received the mixer? The problem is only the meters not the audio, you can control the levels? With only the power supply plugged in and the faders, send pots turned all the way down, do all the master meter LEDs still show all on? If so, then there is a fault with the meter circuitry and I would advise that if the console is brand new (less than 30 days old) you contact the shop you purchased it from and ask for a DOA replacement. If it is over 30 days old, then still contact them and they will repair the mixer for you.
