Hello Guys I have some questions for you

Under what circumstances will the PLM+ series amplifier enter the safe mode?

Hi Vvish, safe mode will usually be caused by an interrupted firmware update, putting the amp in what looks like a permanent standby state. This can be resolved with a safe mode firmware update. You can find a video on the process here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW-FRGEZcYg&list=PLsbzWq1xgpk9TMlBzSk2pNItJ92oOik_q&index=4&ab_channel=Lab.gruppenKnowledgeBase

Is there any way to escalate to Lab Gruppen. We have been waiting since January for a client's repair on a Lab Gruppen E5:4 amplifier. We keep getting told the parts are on back order.

Good morning, I was wondering if it was possible to convert an older LGFP14K from US mains to EU mains? If so, what would that entail?

      DavidKnighton Hello hiswkf,
Check the voltage spec on the rear panel near the mains input. If it does not specify operation up to 230V, then I would say not possible, at least not without some involved modifications.

I find it strange lab don't offer patch panels for their amps... I use the PLM stuff exclusively and there's nothing better than a nicely labelled, perfectly made patch panel.

I'm a lab dealer, so yes I would buy one if they made one. Since they don't, I looked for an alternative. For anybody else that may find themselves looking, I give you one suggestion. It's a good one.

Click this link and see  what I think to be a brilliant artist's work:

    Check out PP+

For those too scared to click the link, google PP+ Patch Panels.

No, I don't own the company. No, I'm not getting anything from them for posting this.

It's a simple heads up that there is somebody making affordable and absolutely perfectly built patch panels specifcally designed for purpose.

I bought some. Gonna buy some more. You should too.

Music Tribe/Lab guys - throw this guy a bone and swing some work his way. He's not your competition, you don't make the products he does. There are plenty of your customers looking for these things and it's in your best interest to help them out. Steer them his way.

    Maybe a gentle suggestion/push/shove.

      DavidKnighton Hello Djgatos,
The SA cabinets are 16 Ohm and require about 1,200 watts per cabinet. By running multiple boxes in parallel, you could get 4 cabinets down to a 4 Ohm load, however the power requirements for that many speakers would far exceed the PD3000 power output. You would need an amplifier that could achieve 5,000 Watts @ 4 Ohms so it could properly handle the peaks. The PD3000 produces 1,500 watts per channel, and does not appear to be a bridgeable amplifier, so 1,500 watts is your absolute maximum output @ 4 Ohms. The amp that I would recommend would be the PLM12K44, which can deliver 3,000 Watts per channel at 4 Ohms, or you could bridge for effectively double the output power, which is what I would suggest for these speakers. You would need a single PLM12K44 amplifier to adequately power all 8 boxes in a standard stereo L/R configuration. Not including the subs mind you.

My Sa audio cabinets I switched the wire to 4ohms each cabinet you think 1 amp can handle 2 boxes 1 each side?

      • Pd3000 lab gruppen power amp
DavidKnighton At 4 Ohms, the amplifier will deliver up to 1,500 Watts per channel. If you chain two cabinets at 4 Ohms each, your load ends up being 2 Ohms on the amp, which ends up producing less watt output, about 1,000 Watts. I would recommend. In this case I would suggest 1 amp channel per box, which means you'd end up running quite a bit of cabling. I'm not sure how the power requirements change as you switch the cabinet to 4 Ohm load. Maybe you can switch it to an 8 Ohm load, I think that would be better, because then you could chain 2 cabinets for a 4 Ohm load. The amp will perform the best at 4 Ohm loads.

    Hi.

    hope you are well.

My need : I am a mixer for movies, building my own stage. I want to power 3 channels (3xLF 3xHF) of JBL 4670D (https://jblpro.com/en/site_elements/4670d-spec-sheet)

and 8 channels of Top speakers (Atmos) DKAUDIO P12C (http://dkaudio.fr/fr/cinema/3d-immersif/plafond/p12-c)

Rest of surrounds and LFE are self powered. I am also interested in Dante integration + FIR Processing through lake for at least the front channels.

    Thanks

Nigel67 Hi Mikko, I am sorry, but I do not recognise this amplifier. If we do have schematics, then unfortunately we are not permitted to distribute them. There was a LAB 300. Is this what you have?
