We would like to connect a pair of stage boxes to the M32 in a house of worship. Ideally it would be one DL32 and one DL16.

My intention is to have the DL32 backstage to handle all of our FOH outputs as well as our stage monitors and IEMs, plus the inputs from wireless mic receivers also installed backstage.  The DL16 would be on the stage to handle inputs from drums and other instruments, plus utilize the Ultranet connection for personal monitor mixers.  The stage boxes would have a connection to the M32's AES50 A & B jacks.  Are there any limitations on this setup, such as total usable inputs/outputs? Are there any benefits or down-sides to connecting each to a different AES50 bus?

Nigel67 Hi kenspi. AES50 at 48K allows 48 channels bi-directionally so there would be no limitations at all connecting a DL16 and DL32 in series with each other. The only reason that I can think of for connecting the DL16 to AES50 A and DL32 to AES50 B on the M32Live would purely be for the possibility of damage occurring to the AES50 cable between the DL16 which is on stage and the DL32 which is backstage. What I am trying to say is that is may be easier to route the cable direct from the M32 to the DL32 than go from the DL16 to DL32. Apart from that, except for the physical routing in the patching page of the M32, either way is identical.

Challenges using In StageCONNECT Calculator (SCCalculator)
    My proposed setup would be: Wing (FOH) - AES50 - Hub4 - SC - DN4816-I - SC - DN4816-I

    • It's not possible to select Wing AND Hub4. What could be the reason for that?
    • Second DN4816-I is greyed out but daisy chaining the DN4816-I should be possible.

    Any thoughts about this?

No, Paul, I don't, yet. I'm absorbing all details as to fully understand the potential use. Based on that, investment plan will be generated.

    Hello!

Does anyone here have the OSC control documentation for the midas pro series? I'm working on integrating them into companion, but I'm having trouble digging up good references on their protocol.

KyleJohnson Hello, Kyle here with Music Tribe. Could you please submit a Technical support ticket through the Support portal?

KevinMaxwell First thought was did you immediately call the company that you bought it from and what did they say? I would assume that maybe something worked its way loose in shipping or do they all come that way and do you need to hook up a computer to it and load the latest firmware?

MdeV Maybe a stupid question, but the screen on the picture is not the boot screen, but the lock screen (see the grey unlock in the down left corner) Did you try to unlock it?

KevinMaxwell Would the console stay in Lock mode even after it is turned off (for shipping) and turned on again?

I'm having an issue with my m32 connection to my newer iPad. All of the IPs match up, and the older iPad connects just fine. The "listening" window in the connect screen stays red and spinning and won't ever fully connect. Iv tried everything and I'm not sure what to do next.

KevinMaxwell The IP addresses shouldn't match exactly. If the iPad is 192.168.1.150 then the mixer should be something like 192.168.1.160 the 4 groups of numbers in the address should match on the first 3 groups and the last group (150 and 160 in my example) should be different.

    Hello,
appreciate our input on following Need and Idea about using 2x Midas HUB4 for connecting 41 channels and 8x stereo IEM
    41 channels on stage, 8 person band, 2xDL16, 1x DL32.
    Need:
8x stereo wireless IEM from stage, IEM mix by musician's app and FOH engineer
    Idea:
3x DL stageboxes connected with AES50 to Midas HUB4, 4x2 analog out (from HUB4) to 4x IEM transmitters
Second midas HUB4 daisy chained over AES50 with first Midas HUB4, 4x2 analog out (from HUB4) to 4x IEM transmitters
AES50 frome second Midas HUB4 to FOH: Behringer Wing
    Questions:
Can Midas HUB4 be daisy chained? or do I need 2x AES50 from FOH?
Can this idea technically be done?
Are there better/other ways of implementing "need"?
See attached simple scetch of the set-up in mind
    Thank you, Arie

Paul_Vannatto Hi Arie, yes the Hub4 can be daisy chained as you suggested. Just make sure the "Port 1-4 AES50 A1-32" is turned off (unlit) on both units, which will allow all 48 inputs from the DL stageboxes to pass through to the Wing.

I just had a look at your attachment and there is one thing you will need to change. Instead of having each of the DL stageboxes attached to the second Hub4, you will need to daisy-chain them as well.

Of course a more "fail-safe" setup would have the dual DP48 connected to the Wing using an AES50 cable and the DL stageboxes connected to the Wing using a second AES50 cable.

      • 2x Midas Hub4?
MixingLane Thanks Paul_Vannatto. I made a second drawing according your advice. Looks like a great set-up!

Paul_Vannatto Yes, that should work for you Arie.

      • 2x Midas Hub4?
MixingLane Great! Now I either have to go for the Hub4's or control myself and wait for the Hub8 ?
        • May 5
    • MixingLane
Paul_Vannatto I'm not aware of any plans for a Hub8. So I would suggest you get the 2 Hub4's

Final question (I hope ;-) ) Can the Hub4 be used without DP48? So simply in a side rack on stage to make the connection with Wireless IEM transmitters, and the IEM mix be done by the FOH (Behringer Wing). According to the documentation, I think: yes but there is some ambiguous tekst that makes me doubt. Thanks!
