Here is a product all M32 FOH engineers could use. A 2x16 inputs to 1x16 outputs switch to switch from house console to touring console.

    Hi,

The other day while doing other work behind my Midas, I unfortunately bumped a speaker and it fell and broke off the Master and Mono Master Faders. In the attached pic, you can see what I'm left with. It was a pretty clean break, but there is nothing in the faders now to control them, although they still work and pass audio. I have 2 questions...

-Do I really need to take apart the entire console to re attach the faders?

-The metal port that the fader attaches to might be bent, what parts might I need to re attach them?

Thanks so much for any help at all.

Nigel67 Hi CPMixing. I think that you will do very well if you can attach the shafts back on the faders. You will more than likely have to replace them. The faders are soldered on to the pcb, so yes, you will have to take out the fader pcb to desolder and replace the faders, or you can purchase a replacement fader pcb. If you know how to solder, then its a more time consuming job than being difficult. To access the pcbs, you need to take the bottom panel off the console. For availability of faders or fader pcb, please contact our spares team. This can be done by clicking on the support tab at the top of the page. A new window will open. Scroll down and click on the Spare Parts tab and submit a ticket. A colleague will then get back to you with part numbers, availability and pricing.

Hallo, -I `ve got the same problem with my  new DL32  as Andreas G03 - this time Beheringer Wing does`nt recognize Dl 32 after I tried to update the firmware to v. 1.8 / no sync between DL32 and Wing //. Does anybody have solution for this issue, or do I have to send it back to the seller and get the new one. Thanks for Your suggestions. Miroslav Sur /  Slovakia /

KevinMaxwell Have you tried reloading the DL32 V1.8 firmware? A corrupted download can sometimes be a problem. Or even loading the previous DL32 firmware version V1.7. I remember there was a time (maybe on the X32) that it was recommended that you change the sample rate (clock rate) on the console to the other setting and then back again while hooked up to the stage box and it then might work. When you updated the firmware did your computer tell you that the update was successful? Did the DL32 work with the WING before you updated it?

I don't see a post be anyone else (Andreas) about this problem. can you post a link to that message?

KevinMaxwell Miroslavur sent me the following in Messages but He may have intended to post the following here.

      >>>>>>>; I tried to downgrade firmware back to v.1.7 from v 1.8 several times - it did not work. One of my colleges told me to do update on PC with WIN XP- I`ve done that too. From the very beginning DL 32 did`nt show any sync on. When I switch DL32 on , just MUTE ALL red led control is on, but never AES50 SYNC.- no red, nor green. I`m using 50m pro snake CAT 6E cable from Thomann brand new. I even tried to change the clock rate from 48k to 44.1 and back , it did not help -Sync source to AES50A - and back to internal- nothing. Strange .
      <<<<<<<<

Are you saying that this DL3 used to work with this WING and it stopped working after you updated the Firmware in the DL32? What version of firmware is loaded in the WING?

Did you download the DL32 firmware again from the Midas website? Or have you been trying to reload the same version that you originally downloaded?

Hi Kevin, I have to say, that first thing after I`ve unpacked DL32 was updating the firmware and just after that I connected DL32 to Wing for the first time .I realy don`t know what firmware version was installed in DL32 previously. But one thing is clear- updating procedure did not run correctly- in the end of updating procedure from PC I`ve got a message that unit in USB port was not recognized. By the way, I have downloaded the firmware now from site midasconsoles.com and tried to update the FW again- with the same result. I`d like to thank You kevin again for Your help- / the worst thing is that this item is`nt available for the time beeing- Thomann says 11-14 weeks / Regards Miroslav Sur

KevinMaxwell I wonder if there is a secret multi-button reset mode on power up that will clear out the firmware and let you start again. The message that the USB port was not recognized is a clue. Are you using USB2 or USB3 ports on the computer? Did you plug in the DL32 to the computer with the DL32 off and then turn it on and WAIT? The computer should comeback to you and tell you if there is a port problem but it might take a few minutes. Do you know how to use device manager on the PC and have a look at the port and see if there is a problem?.

miroslavsur Hallo Kevin, I don`t know about any multi-button reset mode on power up that will clear out previous FW version. Would be nice ,if there was that posibility. I am using / and today again / USB 2 port and I have been waiting a while - 3min / until I started FW exe with no results. I checked USB ports in device manager too -all ok. Thank You again Kevin. Regards Miroslav

KevinMaxwell I see that the instructions say “Make sure you have started your Windows session with Administrator access” This has caught me on a few occasions with other programs because I am the only one that uses my computer and I thought I was always running as the administrator. But it turns out certain programs require an additional step to run a program as the admin. Don’t just click on the program but right click and you will see one of the selections that pops up is Run as Administrator. Click on that one and see if you have any luck.

Also isn’t there any Midas / Music Tribe support people on here to suggest what can be done?

Paul_Vannatto Search for Mixing Station and get the X-Air version. The Pro version is well worth the small cost IMO.

On WING + DL32, how many DP48s can be daisy chained without issue? I could use the second AES port  off the WING or the through connection from the DL32 stagebox.

    Thanks

Paul_Vannatto I think the answer is the same as to how many P16 can be daisy chained - we're not sure.

      DavidKnighton Hello ecfsanjose,
I'm not sure if there is an exact number, but I know at some point there was a class full of X32/M32 that were all daisy chained, between 30-40 mixer without issue. That being said, you should probably make use of a HUB4, because 1 bad cable link can disrupt the whole AES50 stream. A HUB4 will distribute up to 4 separate streams for better management.

I am thinking about purchasing an M32c and I would love to put it in an skb shallow rack case, but I am having trouble figuring out if it will fit, has anyone done this before that can shed light? Pictures would be amazing, here is the rack case I am talking about. . .

      DwayneAasberg Ambi,

We have an M32C but it is not handy to measure. We have it installed in a standard 19" rack. However the MG user documentation specs show the M32C as 11.8" deep, so I think the case you propose will be too shallow. If the documentation is accurate (likely) you will need a case deeper than 12" plus connectors (4").

I will be able to snap pix of our install tomorrow.

      DavidKnighton Hello ambi731,
As Dwayne suggests, you'll want to consider whether you'll have cables hanging out the rear of the rack or permanently installed. If you want to keep the cables permanently in the rack, then you'll want to consider a deeper rack to accommodate the bulky connectors, especially if you plan on transporting the rack from gig to gig.

    Hello There,
I would like to know how to rearrange the dynamics on the M32 Digital mixers so that EQ comes before compression or compression comes before EQ. The Wing board gives me that option and wondering how this can be achieved on the M32 and X32 digital boards

    THanks,

    Rich

Paul_Vannatto You would do that on the channel strip Dynamics screen. Assign either Pre or Post EQ.

We've been using Mixtender with our Midas ProX and Pro1 for many years and we've noticed that the app will not connect on many of our iPads that have been updated and/or new iPads that have been purchased. Does anyone else have any issues with this? The app also hasn't been updated for years... any plans to update??

      DavidKnighton Hello Adamrussell,
Apple have released some new features in their recent update. I noticed that deleting and reinstalling an app will usually fix certain issues. I'll need to check if there is a latest known working iOS. Within the advent of HD96, there is little chance the app will see any new updates.

Hello, I am helping someone who just got an old Midas TR console. 36 inputs 8 Goups and 8 Matrix.
It is fitted with patchbays wired to EDAC connecors. The EDAC's look to be the 120 pin variety.
There are 6 EDACs. Two under the bay, three under the channels, and one under the group matrix.

Would anyone happen to have, or know what the pinout is for these?
Or any info on what the EDACS might be wired to in the bays? Looking for a place to start figuring out what these patch points are.

    Thank you!

I am attempting to record a speaker via thumb drive through the M32, but I am having trouble with recording the whole session. I learned I didn't have the usb formatted to FAT, so I took care of that and the problem was solved short-term, but it started doing the same thing as before. At some point during the speaker's sessions, the system will just stop recording on its own and when I look at the file, it says there is no data on it and it was created December 31st, 1969 at 7pm. I have over 100 free gigs on the usb, so storage isn't an issue and I'm hesitant to say the issue is the size of the recording since the time it shuts off varies and I have the usb properly formatted.

Any ideas and help would be greatly appredciated.

    Thank you!

Paul_Vannatto The date/time issue of the file is because the date/time on the M32 is not set. The best way to do that is by using the M32-Edit. Go to Setup, Mixer, bottom right corner - press Sync Mixer button. If the M32 doesn't keep the time, select the OnConnect checkbox.

If you have 100+Gb free on the USB stick, it means that you are using a 128Gb or bigger. I would suggest using a 32Gb or smaller formatted to FAT32 (since that size is the official max size). With a 32Gb USB stick, you should have room for about 40 hours of recording time available.

      DavidKnighton Hello Ip11,
Check the time/date on the mixer to start. Generally speaking, if the recording shows anything but the actual time/date, then there may be a problem with the system battery. As for recordings, I would forego a large thumb drive in place of a smaller one. 32GB should be more than sufficient for any recording. The FAT32 format will store files up to 2GB (roughly 2 hours of record time) before creating a new file automatically. I would suggest that whatever thumb drive you're using is probably not up to the task. I recommend using the Patriot Supersonic XT 32GB thumb drive. I've tested these in many scenarios, and have recorded upwards of 30 hours overnight without issue.
