I’ve recently used a Pro2 and the Spectrum Analyzer on it is really nice. Just like the animation on it is super responsive and tight and because of that it’s more useful to me than any other spectrum analyzer I’ve used. I’m just using the default settings on it. Anybody know if there’s a way to get that same spectrum analyzer software as standalone software on your computer? Or better yet as a plug-in? I’m expecting that doesn’t exist, so this is more a request to Midas to make that a thing. I’m also wondering if anybody knows of a software spectrum analyzer that’s similar in its responsiveness and animation to Midas’s
Thanks for the feedback,
i'll pass this on to the MIDAS team. I don't think there is a software/Plug-In version available.
For some free Spectrum analysers checks these:
I can recommend Melda's Multi Analyser, which i bought last year:

Just saw on twitter Midas put the Tc Electronic vss4 in the Pro series. Think they'll add it to m32?

Question: Will Scenario 2 work? We want to leave the M32 powered off, and be able to use the X32 Core AES50-A to the DL32 AES50-B.
No it will not work. The DL32 can only receive the wordclock from the AES50 A port. So if you turn off the M32 (with sync as internal - thus master clock), you will have to connect the X32 Core to the DL32 AES50 A port and turn on the sync (on X32 Core) to internal. Just remember that when you want scenario to switch it back (AES50 B and sync to AES50 A).
If you don't want to hassle with changing sync and ports, a better way to set this up would be:
M32 [B] <-> [A] X32 Core [B] <-> [A] DL32
Make the X32 Core master clock (sync = Internal) and M32 as slave (sync = AES50 B)
X32 Core Routing, AES50-a screen (DL32 inputs to M32)
* Outputs 1-8 -> AES50 B1-8
* Outputs 9-16 -> AES50 B9-16
* Outputs 17-24 -> AES50 B17-24
* Outputs 25-32 -> AES50 B25-32
X32 Core Routing, AES50-b screen (M32 outputs to DL32 outputs)
* Outputs 1-8 -> AES50 A1-8
* Outputs 9-16 -> AES50 A9-16
For scenario 2, if you want X32 Core outputs to go to the DL32, you will probably want to change the Routing, AES50-b screen to:
* Outputs 1-8 -> Out 1-8
* Outputs 9-16 -> Out 9-16
Thanks Paul. Would the proposed second setup introduce additional latency to the M32 since the audio is ostensibly now passing through the X32 Core?

If I remember correctly the AES50 latency is 0.9ms. So if you are traveling the speed of light, I guess that would be significant.
I wonder exactly how they would add up. Maybe it's 0.9ms per stage and side, so M32->X32Core->DL32->X32Core->M32 might introduce 4 * 0.9ms = 3.6ms round trip.
Well all I can say is that of all of the many users I've helped (over the 6+ years) with similar scenarios (console <> console <> stagebox <> stagebox), I've yet to hear from one that complained about latency issues.
I first loved my X32 and now i fell in Love with my M32 Live but.......
please, will there ever be a chance to load reverbs or the Combinator to the right side of the
FX Rack?
No for either the X or M 32 I'm afraid. many of the FX that are in the left hand side are very processor intensive and the mixers don't have enough processing power to make all the effects work in all eight FX slots. You can only have the simpler FX in the right hand four slots.
Hi @NelsonVega
Typically this is due to a corrupt firmware, likely it just downloaded incorrectly. Try downloading the update file again from the website and if you can connect to the internet via landline, even better.
Re-format your USB drive (FAT or FAT32) and create a folder ' DL2Upgrades ' - then place the unzipped .tar file in the folder and try upgrading the console firmware again.
Let me know if you have any other issues.
My set up is: on stage several instruments, MR18 to plug in everything on stage, long cat5e cable to go to Macbook pro to control MR18 with M-air-edit.
I'm using qlab4 to play sound files (and also play video and send osc commands). Is there a posibility to make a virtual link between qlab outputs (stereo) and two inputs of the MR18? Or do i have to bring two long cables to connect the outputs of my macbook to the XLR inputs of my MR18?
Thanks Edwin
There is no cheap, easy way to get low-latency audio down the Ethernet cable. A remote computer on the stage end, or your main computer on stage controlled by an iPad is possible. I would think your idea is the easiest, simple solution.
Hello.
I am new to the Midas M32 R I am having problems routing my USB to my monitor outs. Can someone help?
Hi @iTheAlterEgo Can you give specifics as to what you are wanting to do? Are you talking about DAW track playback or the stereo USB playbck aux 7/8 or something else?
Hello.
Thanks for the reply.
I have my M32R setup where AUX-IN USB (My computer) plays from channels AUX 1 & 2
I am trying to route 2 of the XLR outputs to a piece of outboard gear (An AKAI sampler)
This way, anything that is played on my computer can be sampled at any time.
How can I achieve this?
2 M32 + 1 DL32 sharing gain....is there any follow up gain feature that can be used at "slave console" to auto correct any gain changes from the"master console"????
@Angelos7 Yes. There is a trim control for the console not controlling the pre-amps.
Hi Angelos @Angelos7,
Welcome to the forum. Yes you can enable the HA Gain Sharing (Setup, Preamps screen) that will provide each console with digital trim (+-18 db) on each channel strip. What that means is that the console that has control of the physical preamps (gains, phantom) will have to adjust the physical gains on the Setup, Preamps screen).
Let’s for example say you are talking about a FOH console as the master and the Monitor console as the Slave. I assume that what you are asking for is can the monitor console auto correct what the master console just did. In Other Words if a person on the FOH console just increases the preamp gain on a vocal mic is there a feature that will then decrease the gain (or trim) on the monitor console so that mix doesn’t change.
The answer is no this feature is not in the M32 console system, at least not in an automated sense. It can be done manually but not automatically. This is why people recommend a hard wired or transformer split before the consoles preamps for a 2 console system with one at FOH and another one at Monitor world, so what one mix person does doesn’t affect the other mix person.
Hello, I have been doing pretty good at learning these consoles and this group has been a great help for my challenges. It appears that after updating to Mojave or updating to the latest firmware I can no longer play music from iTunes via USB to the M32. All sound effects, appilcations including Pro Tools, Logic Pro and even Safari websites play without a hitch but iTunes will only play through the internal speakers from the MacBook Pro. I use iTunes for practicing and as you may be aware the quality is not there through MacBook Pro speakers. I understand some people may not be Apple fans, or fans of iTunes but I am not posting this to get in a fanboy battle I just have not found any answers to this issue. I am hoping I have over looked a simple setting.
I am using the M32 with the original Klark Technik USB card. The console is using firmware 3.11 and my MacBook Pro is using 10.14.5 Mojave. All software is up to date and I really couldn't tell you when this issue started because it's not too often when I am trying to playback from iTunes. (It did work before when using 10.13)
In my System Preferences I have DN32-USB selected for input and output. Selecting any other audio device either plays through the built in speakers or casue iTunes to stop playback.
On the M32 I have the USB set for input and it must be correct because I get audio in all other applications I have tried except iTunes. Even YouTube plays just fine through the Midas console.
Anyway if anyone has run across this issue or has a fix I would greatly appreciate it and thank you for taking the time ti read this.

I'm not a Mac user, but have seen at least a dozen posts here about this specific issue for both Mojave and Win10. The answer is always to change the privacy setting which disables the microphone and thus USB audio. I'm still using Win7 and will do so as long as I possibly can, due to issues like this.
Hi Chazz ( @CharlesHarbison ),
The Mojave privacy settings only affect recording since they block "listening devices" such as microphones and audio interfaces that could have microphones attached.
Go into Utilities->Audio MIDI Setup, Audio Devices and check the speaker configuration for your M32. That's where iTunes gets its output device info.
Hope this helps,
Ken
I am a fan of iTunes. And I love other apple devices like MacBook Pro, iPhone, iPad etc. Even I am such a big fan of iTunes it sometimes disappoints me with annoying errors. A few days back I had to Fix iTunes Error 14 by searching online. It took me about 1 hr 30 mins to fix it. Still, I love iTunes and apple.
I have a Pro2 that needs servicing, I've sent several emails with no reply yet (going on 3 weeks), not sure what to do next as I can't find a support phone number anywhere. Is this typical for it to take so long just for a response?
