Hello everyone and thanks in advance. I am having a problem with my behringer odyssey and I have not found how to fix it yet. The thing is I don´t know how to activate or deactivate either local on or local off. If anyone could help me I would be so grateful. Cheers!

Hello, this is my last resort any help greatly appreciated. This is regarding my Voicelive 3 extreme.

I see in the main mix screen I can control the guitar volume, the backing track volume even the xlr volume but not the mic volume? I can't see a separate mic volume in any of the mix screens??

I am using a stereo output mode because I have stereo effects on my backing tracks.

I just want an easy way to adjust the elements of my performance (mic, guitar , backing track).

The only solution I can think of at the moment is turning the backing track up or down to mix with the vocal but then my guitar levels are all out because I have set those to the backing track!!

There must be an easy way I am missing here?

    Please help.

    Jason

We use X32 rack with SD8 stage box. Back line inputs into X32, front line inputs into SD8, with main speaker outs sent to SD8 outputs. Routing is correct, and this has always worked fine - until last night's gig! Recurrent dropouts lasting a second to a few seconds, random, meaning speakers and front line inputs went off; back line still audible in in-ear monitors. Green AES-50 light on SD8 went off, meaning loss of synced AES-50 feed. Resetting the devices did not fix.

We took a break, unplugged the XLR cables running to the speakers from the SD8, extended them with mic cables, and plugged them into speaker outputs directly on the X32. No further dropouts at all, though the front line inputs were still coming in via the SD8.

The connection between the X32 and the SD8 has been a high quality 50 ft jacketed RJ45 cable - no ethercon shells. My research shows this is most likely the issue (though never a problem before), and I have already ordered the right cable. But some have posted that they think voltage brownouts can also cause loss of AES-50 sync.

And if a substandard cable was picking up noise and causing the problem, why would removing the speaker outputs fix the problem? The front line inputs had no further dropouts, still using the same ethernet cable and setup. Feels like I am missing something here, maybe a clue. Any ideas?

Nigel67 Hi JoeWitkin. I am afraid that it could have been a whole number of reasons for the drop outs, and without doing some testing to your set up, it is unlikely that you will be able to pin point the cause of the issue. You say that people have mentioned voltage brownouts. If this was the case then I would expect the unit to reboot every time the voltage dropped out of spec which would mean that the audio would have been lost for quite a few seconds as the unit rebooted. You would also have seen issues with other gear as well. The switch mode power supply in the SD8 is built to work in Japan where the mains voltage in some areas drops down to 90 - 100 volts. Its also possible, that removing some of the audio connections, removed some of the load on the power supply (analogue rails). If the power supply is getting old and going out of spec, then a high load on its rails may cause it to break down and cause a loss in audio. You would probably not get audio drop out (loss of sync) at lower volume, but with high transients, when the power supply is working at its hardest, then that is when the sync / audio would be lost. Not having shells on the cables is definitely asking for trouble as the weight of the cable is all on those 8 very fragile cables that are crimped into the RJ45. Any one accidentally trips over the cable is putting a lot of strain through those wires, and you only find a fault when audio is blasting out the PA system and the rack is vibrating. This is another reason why shells should be used, because if the unit is vibrating due to the PA, then that RJ45 is also bouncing around in its mating connector which in turn mean the 8 pins that mate with the rj45 pins are bouncing around possibly causing intermittency. As to why the drop outs stopped after unplugging some of the outputs, someone may have unknowingly moved the AES50 cable, and thus fixing the issue for the time being. I would suggest, that if you are getting a new cable made, that you check the A and B AES50 ports and make sure all the pins look the same, i.e none are bent down compared to the others. I have put a picture below of what I mean. Just look into the connections and check the 8 gold pins in each. Finally, please make sure that the cables you are purchasing, as well as having shells are also CAT5e STP. Hope this helps. My Ditto boosts volume (particularly low freq) when I hit record.  I'm pretty sure firmware is up date but now the update software for mac won't open (updater is out of date?) so can't confirm. Seems to be a common problem but I've yet to see a solution. Thanks.

BryanB2 I posted this issue a year ago but never got a reply. I stopped trying to use the pedal since it was so glitchy and went back to a Boss RC30 which is pretty solid. I just bought a Ditto X4 recently which seems to work great. I can loop a few bars of percussion which will repeat while I loop a much longer rhythm of the song on top

cywinstanley UPDATE : This issue happened when running into a DI (Grace Felix) that has an impedance setting. It was set to low but when I changed it to high, the volume boost issue stopped happening. I know not all DI's have this but perhaps the issue is an impedance boost from hi to lo / vice versa. Not sure but it seemed to help.

Nigel67 Hi Daniel15. You cannot connect these two units in series like the DL16 and DL32, so you would need to connect one unit to the AES50 A port on the M32 and the other to the AES50 B port. HA remote is only needed when you are using a dual system.

    Hi there!

I am using the X-touch mini on Studio One. I have an issue to fix: I just can config knobs and the sliders. Its impossible attribute functions to the bottons because they are not identified. How can I use the bottons to control notes from a VST, for example?

Nigel67 Hi Daniel15. I have answered your question above in your other post. For a single system, there is no need to use HA Remote and Split Gain

    Hello,

    I m running W10 with latest updates, and PC-edit version 4.3

-The firmware on my X32 Rack is 4.06 (latest downloaded from Berhinger site  30 july 2022.)

My problem is, when I adress LR to DCA 1 (or even one of the other 7 dca's), and SOLO this DCA, my pc edit software crashes.

Same goes for all the matrixes, linked or not..  (adressing linked matrixes or single ones to a DCA, doesn't matter)

I have Hard Mutes turned off.

No additional remote hardware attached, only a SD8 connected.

Even after an initialize, problem still occurs.

Software crashes, and I have to clear Solo on the rack itself, because the software keeps crashing after re running the software.

Can the mp3 usb port be used to receive bluetooth playback if a bluetooth dongel is plugged into it?

KyleJohnson Hello, Kyle here with Music Tribe. Unfortunately no that will not work, the USB port is not designed for a Bluetooth receiver.

problem with Midas stage box. the mute all automatically goes off and on my DL32. Please how do I fix this

    • Dukegwary1284
Nigel67 Hi Dukegwary1284. The Mute All button will automatically switch off as soon as the DL32 syncs with the Mixer. The only way to Mute all the inputs is to press the Mute All button again. The QSG advises that MUTE ALL button mutes all inputs for safely connecting and disconnecting cables while the PA system is still on. Keep the button depressed while patching cables on XLR inputs 1-32. The button’s red light will turn off shortly after releasing it, indicating that the inputs are now active again. https://mediadl.musictribe.com/media/PLM/data/docs/P0BMD/QSG_MI_P0BMD_DL32_WW.pdf If the Mute LED is switching on and off without someone pressing it, then this is indicating a bad connection between the DL32 and the console. Try a different CAT5E STP cable (which from the picture your cable isn't and could be causing an issue), try plugging into the AES50 B port on the console and if that doesn't work, I would advise sending in a Tech Support ticket and we will be able to help your further. This can be done by clicking on the support tab at the top of the page. A new window will open. Scroll down and click on the Technical Support tab and submit a ticket.
