I bought both a flashback and hall of fame in 2012. Both pedals stopped working with normal use in just five years. I loved the sounds and features of both pedals, but am extremely disappointed with how long they lasted. I was thinking of selling them to someone who likes to tinker with these things because they are useless to me now and have just been sitting in a drawer for years now. But I figured I’d reach out here first. Any ideas of how to help me out with this?

I was given an older ipad model MD510LL/A with a 10.3.3 OS. I was needing the ipad to help me mix on my XR18. The remote app says I have to have a OS of 12.0 or higher. Is there anything I can do?

Nigel Turner Hi, unfortunately you will not be able to run the M-Air app on your ipad. The ipad cannot be upgraded to OS12 and Apple do not allow old versions of apps to stay on their store, only the latest. A colleague has suggested using Mixing Station https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mixing-station/id1438352631. There are a number of tutorials on Youtube as well for using it with XR/MR18.

Is there a way to get mono on the main out of a Behringer Xenyx 802 mixer to go to a mono amp?

Or is there a way I could take the main out L & R and sum it into a single mono output going to a mono amp?

    • dpldave
Alexander Lane The easiest way would be to just pan everything on the mixer left and only user the left output to drive the amp, most amps have two inputs and can sum internally though. What model of amplifier are you using?

dpldave The 802 is a small mixer with 4 channels. Channels #1 & 2 are mono mic channels and 3/4 & 5/6 are 2 stereo channels. I have mics in 1 & 2 . A laptop in ch3/4 and a phone or other stereo divice ch5/6. if I pan hard left I lose channels 4/6.

Alexander Lane You could make up a Mono sum cable as a workaround, see attached image...

dpldave Thanks for the info. I was considering something like that but for unbalanced signal to match the impedence of the 802 main outs. But I came across this sound block II by monoprice. It will sum my stereo unbalanced lines to a mono balanced output. For $30us I am going to give this a try. Will advise how it worked out.

I posted this once before but nobody responded and I can't seem to find it. I hope someone didn't decide to delete it...

I have the Flashback II, Corona Chorus and Pipeline Tap Tremolo stomp boxes. I was very excited to replace them with a Plethora X5, but I have to say I'm somewhat disappointed with the sounds from the X5.

The Pipeline patch in the X5 sounds exactly like the stomp box version. Kudos for that. However, the Corona Chorus patch is significantly lacking in low end compared to the stomp box version, and the Flashback is not even close to the sound of the stomp box version. I mainly use the "mod" setting on the Flashback because I love the high end sparkle it adds. On the X5 version that sparkle is completely missing.

The whole point of buying the X5 was to replace my existing TC pedals. I REALLY don't want to have to keep both on my pedalboard as that would defeat the whole purpose of the X5. I sincerely hope that your development team is working on improving the sound of these patches so they more closely resemble your fabulous stomp boxes.

Dale Minaker Hi John, thanks for the feedback. Our guys will look in to this for you and see if they can replicate your observation a few questions we would appreciate you assisting us with:
Question 1- Are you comparing the same TonePrint in the X5 as you have loaded in your tompbox?
Question 2- Do you have the pedals in the same order on X5 as you do with your stompboxes?
Question 3-Are you running a stereo setup or a mono setup?

      • Plethora Flashback & Corona tones
Johnpierre Conques 1) I am not using Toneprints at all. I'm comparing the "Mod" mode of the FB2 and the "Chorus" mode of the Corona with the corresponding modes on the X5.
        2) I am using individual pedals, so there is nothing to put in order.
        3) Mono.

Tc Mike Hi Johnpierre, thanks for the info. would like to have more details and possibly your settings so, we can try to reproduce this. The code of the Pedals is identical, We have seen issues with some of the on-board toneprints and the app templates not matching, which could explain the differences. Since there is still no PM function, could i ask you to write me a mail and we take this on in private ? ([email protected])

Is it possible to take one of the five slots and make the footswitch a dedicated tap tempo? Holding the footswitch for a second, releasing it and THEN tapping out the tempo is highly impractical to pull off on the fly in the middle of a song.

If this is not currently possible I would very much like to see a standalone tap tempo pedal included in the next firmware update. Preferably with the option to set the tempo for all time-based effects on the same board.

Is there a way to aggregate an xr18 and xr12 to use in a daw(Logic pro x)

    0 1
    • Los Giles
Rex Beckett The XR12 cannot be used as a USB audio interface. The USB port only supports record/playback of stereo wav files on a USB drive. You could use the XR12 as a sub-mixer and feed its stereo analogue outputs to the XR18 but that would not give you more recording channels on a DAW. If you need more than eighteen recorded channels, you should consider the X32 Rack which supports 32 bi-directional USB channels.

    hello,

my deepmind 6 is producing a high pitched consistent noise around the 12khz range and I'm not sure how to fix it. Its not a grounding problem, I updated the firmware, and I calibrated everything.

    thanks,

    Aaron

Joe Rivers Hey Aaron, thanks for reaching out. Could you run me through your set up here please? Are you applying any gain to your signal. Quite often this could be due to an exaggerated noise floor, heightened by gain from an interface or a mixer. Do you also hear the behaviour through the headphone port?

Aaronkarsh Thanks for replying! I am using my deepmind through an Apollo twin. The Apollo twin is turned up half way and it’s not coming out of the headphone port.

Somebody have the Service manual of EQP-KT ?

or know the correct position of the tubes inside the unit ?

    thanks

      David Knighton Hello Lui Mora.
      12AX7A is V2
      12AU7 is V1
You should be able to spot the silkscreen on the PCB. It will say V1 or V2 next to the tube socket.

David Knighton Hello Lui, I can't be 100% of that picture as I don't have a unit in front of me to confirm. Always confirm by using the PCB silkscreen, because who knows where this picture originated from.

      • Position of tubes inside EQP-KT - Service manual ???
David Knighton Lui, I just double checked with parts team. V1 is closest to the outside edge and V2 is furthest from the outside edge. So it would appear that the picture you provided is correct.

My UMC 1820 has been working flawlessly with my Mac's Lopic Pro X for ~ the past 1 1/2yrs. Today it just dropped off after a MAc software update to Catalina 10.15.6. I've tried dozens of recommended soltuions found online i.e. apple support, random forums, etc, and have had no luck. I think its a hardware issue, but maybe my recent update to MacOS Catalina caused an issue. Has anyone else experinced this issue recently and/or any recomendations? I've tried reseting Logics system prefernces, doing the NVRAM force reset, etc etc. Tried all the common soltiouns found online. my last try is going to be to uninstal and reinstal Logic, and if that doesnt work I will have to send it in to get repaired? anyways, any help would be much appreciated.

Dave Morrison Is the OS detecting the interface? Can you see it in the USB section of "System Information"? Have you tried different USB cables? I've had a rash of them fail lately. I've had to use short cables with ferrite baluns on both ends to get reliable results on one of my Macs.

      • Behringer UMC 1820 No Longer Detectable as a Device in Logic Pro X
Dave Morrison Narrowing down to the cable, interface, computer, or Catalina is the key. Borrow a computer, try a new, quality cable (most aren't very good), or revert to Mojave. Since the 1820 is class compliant, I wouldn't think it's Catalina. But the timing of the problem suggests it might be. Have you started a support ticket with Behringer? Just use the Support menu at the top of this page.

      David Knighton Hello williambmt.
Catalina OS makes some distinct changes to the audio functions. Check out this KB article and let me know if this solves the issue.

      • Behringer UMC 1820 No Longer Detectable as a Device in Logic Pro X
williambmt Thanks for the reply David! I did find this article earlier and it did not work. I'm going to try to see if another computer recognizes the interface, and also try a new cable. I did submit a support ticket and they've only mentioned the basics thus far which have not worked.

williambmt Update: In case anyone is looking at this post/experiencing the same issue. I have tried a new cable and a few other random cables, and can deduce its not the cable. My Mac is simply just not detecting the device. It has either got to be a device hardware issue, or maybe my upgrade to OS Catalina caused the issue. I am working with support on a ticket, but it's not really progressing that fast. At this point, I'll probably break down and buy a new device, and certainly not a Behringer. This might be a big flaw by Behrinher i.e. build devices that only last so long, and then break to leave the user frustrated to never buy a Behringer product again. Hopefully I'm just jumping to conclusions and I stumble into the solution, but I'm dead in the water and its pain to not be able to record.
