Hi, I have an old pair of Tannoy Cheviots and wondered if anyone would have advise on ways to carefully/repectfully upgrade them.  They have had new surrounds installed and seem to work well though the surrounds are installed with a convex roll contrary to original and the spiders are slightlypushed in at rest.  I wondered if you thought that might be contributing to slightly inarticulate bass.  I use a Sony TA-N77ES 200w/ch high quality ampliier.

I wondered also if there are any weak spots that could be improved now after 45 years, such as internal wiring, binding posts, bipassing attenuators, etc, as many seem to speculate and experiment with.

I truly respect the design and they do sound wonderful.  I want to make sure I am doing them justice if anything obvious may be holding them back now as technology allows.  Any thoughts are much apreciated!  Thank you and Happy Friday from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.

My speaker cables have two plugs. Does it matter if I connect them to LF + and use the bridge cables to connect to HF +or vice versa?

I've submitted two request for help with replacing a fail product (TANNOY GOLD 7 monitors) and I've yet to receive directions as to how remedy this issue. Other than a response telling me that they're under warranty. Which isn't much help without who to send them to replacement or refund. What gives?

Nigel Turner Hi Ben, is your case number CAS-159877-V5Q6J0? I can see that you were sent an e-mail on the 12th with an RMA number and where to ship the speakers to for repair. Please check your SPAM to see if the e-mail is in there. I will resend the e-mail to you. I see that you have also raised another identical ticket CAS-161661-C2G8K. I will copy and paste the original e-mail into that and send you as well

Ben Johnson Thank you Nigel. The other ticket (I believe) was to indicate a similar problem with the paired monitor. It's noise isn't as bad as the first one but still noticeable and I fear it will worsen if not corrected. Therefore I would like to send moth monitors in for adjustments. At this point the ideal remedy would be to trade up to the GOLD 8's and pay the difference but I'm guessing that's beyond your capabilities. Once again thanks for your response and stay safe out there.

Can anyone advise where the reference point is on the Legacy Eatons? Asking as I'm trying to work out correct stand heights ahead of receiving the Eatons. Thanks

Chris Edwards Hi Me Myname, If you are referring to the recommended listening position then we recommend 1m from any sidewall
or reflective surface and at least 0.5m away from a rear wall. The tweeter should be roughly at ear height at your listening position. Some user will use stands which tilt the speakers back to achieve this, however, we cannot confirm if this would be a more suitable option or not as it is more down to user preference.

If this is not the information you require then please feel free to expand further.

Hello, I am very interested in the Tannoy Xt8f's but would like to know if you are now providing the "bung" inserts for the bass ports? If not, do you have a recommendation? My room is 16x18x8 Ft and I am concerned there will be too much bass. Thanks

Chris Edwards Hi Michael, the Revolution XT6F and XT8F do not come supplied with port bungs, however, if you require them any generic Third-party ones that can be purchased online or via your local HiFi dealer would be suitable. The diameter of the bass reflex port on the XT8F is 7.5cm and for the XT6F it is 5.5cm.
