I had concerns after reading numerous complaints about the DittoX4. Jason Brewer, a customer solutions specialist, told me the service issue had been corrected about a year ago and that customer service turnaround was now 24 hours. That was on Nov 15, 2019. I recieved my new DittoX4 on Nov 22 and had several issues with it locking up and becoming unresponsive...the very issues I first expressed concern over and I sent 4 subsequent emails to which I've recieved no reply. I keep getting an email to the effect of, "We haven't heard from you so we will consider the matter resolved and close the case". It's a no reply email, so how the F are you supposed to contact anyone for help? I've tried every possible way to contact support. Jason is AWOL. The online support survey garnered no response. Honestly, I've never felt so frustrated attempting to get ANY reply from a business that just took $232 of my hard earned money. At least one if not all of several things now seems obvious: TC support is absolutely abysmal and frankly dishonest, I somehow got an "old" new unit on Amazon, the DittoX4 is still problematic. Companys that do not provide one on one, live, verbal communication options with the customer are not interested in accurate, honest customer service. I doubt I will ever do business with TC ever again and am preparing to return my DittoX4 as defective. Bad form TC.

      Hi Steve.

Sorry to hear about your story.
Right now the only way to get in contact with support is through the collected Music Tribe support:
      https://www.tcelectronic.com/brand/tcelectronic/support#googtrans(en|en)

That's what you've already been through?
From what I hear they're having issues with their ticket-system and it seems you've experienced that yourself.. Tickets being closed without actually being solved etc.

I'll try to get my colleague Mike to reply to this message also. He knows more about the X4s than I do!

      /Lars

Thanks Lars I appreciate it. I'm having a terrible time with the X4, crashing, not playing loops until rebooted and general mayhem. I wanted to use it on a gig this weekend but if i do, I think I may be in trouble.

      Hello @Daveswing

From what I can tell, all you need is some nice and saturated distortion (Dark Matter Distortion will get you there + possibly boosted with an overdrive like MojoMojo) and Helix Phaser for the swirly, Van Halen-esque tone.

      Happy tone hunting!

If I plug my guitar into the G-System's input, and go from the G-System's mono output straight into the amp's input - not using the FX loop at all, will effects like reverb, delay etc work?

Unfirtunately I'm stuck without a working effects loop (although it's possible I could get it working using the G-Systems MIDI control - it's a Mode 4 and I have no footswitch)

I just need to know if I'm still going to be able to use reverb if I totally ignore effects loop configurations and go straight from the pedal to the amp's instrument input. In theory I'll be buying the pedal in 2 days - any help would be very much appreciated!

    Thank you

    Tom

Hi there! Did you end up figuring this out? I can't figure out how to turn OFF effects. Good lord. Any advice?

      Thank you!

I'm afraid not my friend! The guy from whom I am hoping to buy the G-System is going to test out the reverb without the FX loop, hopefully.

I've posted this here twice but not had any response other than yours

If you mean you're trying to switch off the FX loop using the G-System, I'm sure this is supposed to be possible - just depends on how your amp is controlled, i.e if it's a jack plug or like a 7 pin control cable, I think... I don't know much about that topic, but I did find some very useful stuff about it regarding a JSX (another amp I'd like to control with it). There are people explaining how to make your own cable that will connect the G System to a JSX's 7 pin footswitch socket: https://community.musictribe.com/t5/Guitar/JSX-Head-with-TC-G-System-URGENT-HELP-PLEASE/m-p/60130

I think you need to have the right 'Relay' codes... Like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtWfpyLqLLE

You just need to work out which one controls the fx loop - or, as in the articles I read, you need to re-wire the cable. But i really don't know this subject if honest - I don't even have the pedal yet, let alone understand it!

I could not find how to edit my blank post (to add the text), so clicked reply instead.

My question is simple. Will TC be making a new interface anytime soon?

Wonder what's teh switching lag on this.

I have a G-System and Mesa express that is 3 yrs old and on the switching channel relays was experiencing a definite lag, and like it went down in volume briefly while switching.

I decided to change out to distortion pedal instead and am getting same thing when switching from clean to distortion. It's in one of the loops, loop 3, now I am going directly from G-System output to Mesa guitar input in the front (no relay switching).

Any idea if I can fix this?

There was an option for Behringer tech support, so TC and Behringer are now the same brand?

I bought this unit several years ago new.  The light stopped working after about a year.  Been sitting around unused for maybe 10 years.   Any ideas how to replace the bulb? I could buy a used one for the cost of sending it to TC electronics to fix it.

    Thanks,

    Rob

There is no (tradidtional) bulb. The backlichts are intigrated SMD LED's inside the display module itself, it is a complete board.

Maybe the support from TC Electronics can help you with a new display or point you out where to get it.

    Hi guys,

I am about to purchase a G-system, but I need to know one thing:

If I just plug my guitar into the G-System's input, and go from the G-System's mono output straight into the amp's input - NOT using the FX loop at all, will FX like reverb, delay etc work?

I'm aware that this is not ideal - using the FX loop is a no-brainer - but I am in a situation right now where the FX loop on the amp I'm using is not working at all. I've been having to go straight into the amp input from my FX pedals for a while (I know, it's heresy, but it's what I've got and I have no alternative, with a gig in two weeks).

I just need to know if I'm still going to be able to use reverb if I totally ignore FX loop configurations and go straight from the pedal to the amp's instrument input.

Thank you - and sorry to the gear heads I must be upsetting

    Tom

What is the actual output (watts) of the TC 250BH bass amp @ 8ohms?

      Hello

This is a tough nut to crack, and it really depends on the age and quality of the Soilid State amplifier.

All though SS amps are getting much better, and louder, in my experience they are still a stones throw away from the raw loudness you will get from tubes. I have always used a 6 to 1 ratio for a rough estimate. So I would think your 250 head would be equivilant to a 30 - 40 watt tube amp, this of course depends on the speakers and the ohm rating  4, 8 etc .  .

      Hi.

The BH250 will deliver 250W at minimal load (which is 4 Ohms). It will deliver 125W at 8 Ohm.

Now, what a class-D amplifier will deliver in terms of "percieved loudness" etc. has a lot to do with what you play on that class-D amplifier (how dynamic your playing is, how percussive your playing is etc.). So yes, how loud you can play your guitar or bass with class-D and tube-power cannot be compared in terms of their wattage

      /Lars
