ChrisEdwards1 Hi jim1425, both the Perform V and VK can detect keys via a backing track via Aux or with the use of the Roomsense feature. The Roomsense feature will use in the built-in Microphone on the unit to listen for chords in the room from a guitar or piano and try to figure out key and scale from that.

The Perform VK is also capable of doing this with a Keyboard connected.

Hello... is there a way to pan my vocals to the right channel (output to mixer) only so I can monitor the left channel (output to monitor) without hearing my vocals?

Im using back tracks and hear my vocals in the ear monitor louder than the click track (left channel).

    Cheers,

      • Vocal Output Panning (L/R)
PedroRodrigues Hi Jose, please be aware that the metronome is always on, even when it's not. It's constantly ticking away in the background, so even when you have the metronome set to Off, it's still going internally to calculate things like delay.
You can go into the Mix menu and customize the headphone output - it's possible to make this just the metronome output by turning everything else down. You can change the metronome's tempo, but it must be done manually, either by going into the looper's Met menu, or you can button map an effect switch to Tap Tempo and dedicate one of your effect footswitches (either guitar, vocal, or both) to metronome tempo. Either way, when you go to tap in a tempo a window will pop up showing the current tempo, and you can use the preset up and down footswitches to edit the tempo 1 bpm at a time (or just tap it in). All the individual levels are adjustable as well, you have control over a Main Mix, Headphone Mix, Effects Mix, and Loop Mix.
If I understand your situation, you want to be able to stop the loops and have silence for an indeterminate amount of time, then be able to stomp the loops back on and have the 1 beat of the metronome right when you press the footswitch. Unfortunately, I don't think this will be possible with the inclusion of the metronome through the main outs.
It is possible to isolate the metronome to the headphone out jack via the Mix menu, so you'd be able to hear it. This would be a substitute for you looking down at the flashing metronome light when singing.

      • Vocal Output Panning (L/R)
JoseRGonzalez Hi Pedro... I dont use the metronome. I create my own backing tracks and import them into the voicelive3 extreme. The backing tracks I make have the music I want people to hear in the right channel. The left channel has a click and some cues to help me during the song. When I play the track in the VL3x, the right channel comes out my PA, and the left channel goes into my ear monitor. The background track works great, but my voice comes out of the VL3x out both channels, so because of my voice coming out of the left channel also, I cant hear well what I have in the track. If I lower the microphone levels, it would lower the volume on both channels so then the vocals would be too low on the mix. What I did last gig was to just connect my microphone directly to the PA so I didnt have to hear myself on the track, thus leaving the VL3x used as a track player.

One way I tought of fixing this is to recreate all of my backing tracks so that the left channel is higher volume than the right. Thats gona take a long time.

I just purchased a Perform VG and tried to attach it to my mic stand.  I think it must only fit  the upper portion of the mic stand, but this still seems to be too large.  Mine, and most I have found are 5/8" diameter.  I have an older one that has an upper tube of 1/2".  This seems to fit well.

So which size should it best fit?  Will I break this if I try to attach it to the 5/8" tube?

I have a voicelive 2, but when I plug my midi keyboard controller in it nothing happens.  I have turned on the midi function and held the 2 switches down to recognize the channel.  Still nothing happens.  I have used the software and it sees my keyboard but there is an x at the bottom and unlit.

I am hoping I am doing something wrong and the midi portion is not broken!

PedroRodrigues Hi, Daniel Daglow, please, connect a MIDI cable between your keyboard’s MIDI out and VoiceLive 2’s MIDI IN. Play a note on your keyboard and check VoiceLive 2’s display to see if the MIDI indicator lights. If it doesn’t, set the MIDI transmit channel of your keyboard to 1,VoiceLive 2’s default or perform the following quick MIDI receive channel procedure.
Hold the PRESET up and SHORTCUT footswitches briefly to enter MIDI Setup.
Press any note on your keyboard. This will automatically configure VoiceLive 2’s
MIDI receive channel to match your keyboard’s.
Tap the SHORTCUT footswitch to exit.
You should now see the word MIDI flash in the main display when you play your keyboard.
You can also set MIDI channel manually in the MIDItab of the SETUP menu.
MIDI IN and USB To use the MIDI IN while you have a USB cable connected, press the SETUP button, locate the SYSTEM tab and turn the USB CONTROL setting to OFF.
This will enable the MIDIIN. Alternatively, you may also remove the USB cable to access MIDIIN.
When you want to restore computer control of VoiceLive 2 over USB, or you want to access the VoiceSupport application’s features, you can turn the USBCONTROL parameter back to On.
In the Mac and Windows operating systems, you can select VoiceLive 2’s audio device in your workstation program by name.
In some Windows DAW apps, however, the name of the audio device may be “USB Audio Device”. USB And MIDI Control To use VoiceLive 2’s MIDI IN jack for harmony, preset change or realtime control while USB is connected, enter the I/O tab in the SETUP menu and set USB CONTROL to OFF.
USB audio will function normally, but MIDI will only be accepted by VoiceLive 2’s through its MIDI IN port. To re-enable VoiceSupport’s features and reception of MIDI from your DAW, turn USB CONTROL to ON.
To access VoiceSupport please follow the link below:

Daglow WoW! "MIDI IN and USB To use the MIDI IN while you have a USB cable connected, press the SETUP button, locate the SYSTEM tab and turn the USB CONTROL setting to OFF." That fixed the problem and some dust! Big thanx!

PedroRodrigues Hi Tom, please be aware that the USB flash drive needs to be formatted using the FAT32 file system. NTFS, HFS+ (the OS X file system) or other file systems cannot be read by VL3X.
Instructions for formatting a USB flash drive with FAT32 can be found here:

      wikihow.com/Format-FAT32

Your VL3X can only import MP3 or WAV audio files. (16 bit 48KHZ)
Insert the USB flash stick into your computer and drag/drop your Backing Tracks onto the drive. You can also use a file manager application.
Make sure to copy all audio files to the root directory of the flash drive. That means you should not put audio files into folders or subfolders. Your VL3X will not find these files.
Insert the USB flash drive stick into the USB Host Port on VL3X.
Your VL3X will recognize all valid audio files in the root directory of the flash drive and make them available for import.
      Press the Store button once.
Use the arrow buttons below the Control Knob to navigate to the TRACK IMPORT tab.
