    Hi

Does anyone know of a way to create custom genres on the Play Acoustic? The VoiceSupport 2 software doesn't seem to allow this.

I want to be able to create a group of presets that will be associated with a song - much in the same way that Favourites operates but with more banks. Favourites bank 1. Favourites bank 2. Favourites bank 3 and so on but with custom names.

It would be an easy way to group presets for songs in a set list.

The other way is to copy presets to different positions in the memory - that works fine but means I have to remember which slot number each song starts at. Piece of paper with a list is easy to make as a reminder of course :-)

kiskadar69 You can't create new genres, but there is a workaround. IMHO with TC-Helicon VoiceSupport 2, you can add and remove presets to existing genres.

kiskadar69 For TC-Helicon VoiceLive 2 and VoiceLive 3, the Step function was created for this problem.

Ok, thanks for the help. I thought about using the existing genres and just have a list of genre x=song y but there aren't enough genres. We do sets of up to 3 hours with 25-30 songs.

I have used this product for years owned three, sorry to hear that this unit has been disconituned. they last me about 3 to 4 years as I perform mostly outside in a humid sea climate 100 shows a season. what happens is when the Harmony button is engaged it effects the guitar sound (Chorus like) also I have noticed recently that I am getting high pitch squeal/feedback when using the harmonies. My levels are all good. anyway to service this or is the unit going south?

A guy in my band has one of these but he lost the power supply for it.  Is it possible to buy a replacement, or does anyone know if there is a 3rd party power supply that will work?  I can't even find any specs on the power requirements!!

ChrisEdwards1 Hi ta2112, the originally supplied power supply for the VoiceSolo FX150 is of the following ratings:

      42.5V, 1.5A with a center-positive polarity.

If you would like to check if we have stock of these please if not already done so submit a parts request ticket, this can be done by going to support at the top of the page and scrolling down to the parts tab.

Nigel67 Hi Tony, please send us a Service Ticket and we will raise an RMA for repair. This can be done by clicking on the support tab at the top of the page. A new window will open. Scroll down and click on the Service tab and submit a ticket. A colleague will then get back to you with an RMA number and advise the local service centre to you. If it is urgent I would suggest calling the Repair Centre that they tell you to send the unit to and ask if they can turn it around quickly for you.

Does anybody using the VL3X for recording in studio? I am using this to record my vocals output to Logic for post processing. Wondering if you guys can share your settings or workflow for recording. Thanks

I can't seem to find an answer to this question anywhere on the interwebs.

I just got a Morningstar MC8 and am trying to program MIDI to the TC Helicon Voicelive Play GTX to change presets.

Anyone know what MIDI commands I use to change from preset to preset?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Cheers!

kiskadar69 1. On DIN MIDI In, Play GTX receives the CC 32 (Bank Select LSB) message on the configured CC MIDI channel. 0 = preset 1..128 (after switching on Play GTX, this bank is set), 1 = preset 129..256, 2 = preset 257..384, 3 = preset 385..500.

      2. On DIN MIDI In, Play GTX receives the Program Change message on the configured main MIDI channel. Reception can be turned on/off globally. A Program Change message selects a preset from the current bank (even if the preset cannot be selected from the panel).

      kiskadar69 1. Set SETUP / MIDI / MIDI Chan.
      2. Set SETUP / MIDI / CC Chan.
      3. Set SETUP / MIDI / Filter to "None" or "Sysex" to enable Program Change reception.
      4. To enable DIN MIDI In, set SETUP / MIDI / MIDI Control to "Merge" or "MIDI".

kiskadar69 "SETUP / MIDI / MIDI Chan" and "SETUP / MIDI / CC Chan" may be the same or different.

I just got this unit and as mentioned by many reviews, the manual is really sub par.

One thing I can't find is a definition of what certain parameters in the vocal section do. For example, what exactly do the following parameters do?

Porta - I have no idea what this does

Smooth - What exactly is it smoothing?

Humanize (I get the general concept obviously, but what exactly does the unit do to achieve it)

    Tuning (Just vs Barbershop?)

Gener - It has a range of -50 to +50

kiskadar69 "Portamento": the sound is transferred from one pitch to another by continuous bending.
      "Gender": makes the tone more masculine or feminine. 0 = no change. -1 ..- 50: masculine. +1 .. + 50: feminine.

    Hi there!

Yesterday I experienced a failure on my Voicelive 3 extreme just before I started my gig (Bummer!)

The unit starts booting, the sofware loads, but then it just reboots again. This continues non-stop in a never ending loop.

I have managed to upgrade it now using the maintenance-boot (pressing the switch inside the headphone-jack while powering up). I then installed the newest firmware (Version: 2.2.0 Build 336). The problem still persists, though. It boots - shortly displays a white-screen and then goes into the same boot-loop. It does come up with the splash-screen with yhe firmware-version (2.2.0 Build 336), so it seems the firmware upgrade has worked. After the ffirmware upgrade it  did come up with an error-message:

THE FOLLOWING SUNSYSTEM FAILED: AUR TOUCH

    ERROR CODE: 2008000

The unit was unresponsive after this, but after a power-cycle it goes back into the "eternal boot-loop" again - although displaying the updated firmware version.

Anyone have a fix for this?

    Best regards!

criszen could you solve the problem? I had a kind of the same issue. Yesterday I had a white screen on startup (glad i could manage to play my gig with another pedal) and I found a youtube video to fix it. I open my voicelive extreme, unistal the sdcard, clean it with my t-shirt and put it back. Then I turned on the VL3 and the second time I had that ERROR CODE: 2008000. After turning off again it disappeared. There's a youtube video about it but it's in Russian. He opened his vlive, touched some contacts and close it back and then it was working

PedroRodrigues Hi Pedalsteel this error message happens if the protective film is not removed from the unit.
The film used to protect the display through manufacturing is not designed to be left on the device. It can actually hold a charge that will confuse the touch portion of the unit.
Removing the films solves the issue. I hope this helps . Thank you

Is there a way to save my loop source so I don't have to set it every time? I only loop my guitar, but last night I forgot to set it and it recorded my singing too.... and you can imagine what that sounded like!

    Thanks.

    Hi.

I have a vocal track recorded in Ableton Live which I would like to process with the Voicelive Play GTX's hard tune effect, using a guitar track as reference for the harmonies. Please, could you help me with the proper set up and signal routing?

    Thanks

      NicJonesMT Hi There.
You would need an audio interface with multiple outputs, and then route the Vocal track to the Mic input and then the Guitar track to the instrument input.
You would then need to connect the outputs of the VL Play GTX back to the inputs of your interface and re-record.

Next Press Setup and adjust the guitar input level. Whilst in the Setup Menu, go to the System page and ensure that the Global Key is set to off. Finally on the Harmony effect page, ensure that the key is set to Auto.

You should now be able to use your guitar to control the harmony.
