I just bought a TC Helicon PerformVK and using as soundcard with USB audio to a windows DAW.

I cannot find the way to switch off the direct output to main outs of the inputs because i want to process the Mic signal in the DAW. The output is always a mix of USB audio AND the mic input. Any solution ?

PedroRodrigues Hi Marco, please be aware that the USB AUDIO interfacing on the Perform VK allows the following implementation The unit has 4 input and 8 output channels for USB audio in .
A driver is required for both USB audio AND MIDI use. It can be found at tc-helicon.com/ products/perform-vk/support/
      USB IN
      CH 1 Backing Track L
      CH 2 Backing Track R
      CH 3 Dry vocal in
      CH 4 NaturalPlay IN
If no signal is transmitted to the product on USB audio channel 3, the product will use analogue in for the voice input. So, you could use channels 1&2 to input stereo tracks from your DAW but sing into the product via your mic. Note that channel 1&2 input is NOT passed to the USB outputs, but IS passed to the Main analog outs. If you use a computer for backing tracks, they will get sent analog to the PA. Volume control for those tracks happens at the computer.
NaturalPlay IN is not connected to the audio output. It is used only for NaturalPlay chord input. This is intended to allow you to use a “guide track” for NatualPlay that you may not want heard in the mix. It could be dry guitar chords or piano chords, with different voicings or placement in order to create your desired harmony output.
      USB OUT
CH 1 L processed vocal, Keyboard/ Aux in (same as what is on main outputs, less the audio received on USB in
CH 2 R processed vocal, Keyboard/ Aux in (same as what is on main outputs, less the audio received on USB in 2
      CH 3 Dry Voice input
      CH 4 Not used
      CH 5 Dry INST IN R / Aux L
      CH 6 Dry INST IN R / Aux R
      CH 7 Harmony Voices L
      CH 8 Harmony Voices R

Hi! Is there some sort of block diagram that what goes into a guitar processor. I can't understand why the drive turns off the amp, and the compressor lives its own life, can work on its own as an Overdrive and not respond to the output equalizer...

PetGerbil If you've got that diagram, then I assume you've got this one ?...
I'm not too sure myself what goes where, But I think the "drive" block just replaces the gain part of the "Amp" setting when activated, leaving the other settings of the "Amp" unchanged.
At a guess, this is because it is much quicker to swap between 2 or 3 settings of the "Drive" part, rather than have to reload into memory all the settings of the "amp". Most of which wouldn't need to be changed if all you need is more gain.

Potapov Yes, thanks for the diagram. Glad that wah-wah goes in front of the drive. You can find a good resonance to create an amazing sound for heavy metal. After I figure out where the fault is and what makes the overload in the guitar path...

I just recently got a new pc and after downloading the software none of the profiles are loading. i tried using one drive and send-anywhere to get them to upload, but nothing works. I cant even create a new profile. I have no idea what the issue is.

PedroRodrigues Hi Matthew, can you please confirm that you did you save your profile before or know where it was saved before?
To confirm please go to system -> global settings and see if the files are in that location
From your description this may be caused by a windows issue.
As Windows did an update or even if it didn't and for some reason your audio isn't playing where it used to/how it used to.
Here is our no-screwing-around guide to getting your audio back to how it was before.
Step 1: Check your Windows Audio Devices.
One of the most common issues that comes up after a Windows update is that Windows has magically reassigned audio to devices that were previously disabled, or to a different TC-Helicon device. Make sure that the following defaults are set (screenshots below):
Recording: Chat Mic (TC-Helicon GoXLR) - Default Device & Default Communications Device
Playback: Chat (TC-Helicon GoXLR) - Default Communications Device | System (TC-Helicon GoXLR - Default Device

It is also crucial to make sure that your levels are set to 100% in Windows and that the audio device itself hasn't been muted by Windows as well.

Step 2: Check the Inputs & Outputs of the individual apps that are having an issue.
Go into each app and make sure that the input and output is assigned correctly. To be safe, toggle the input/output to another device, save it, and then toggle it back to the correct one. Whenever possible, do not use "Default" and instead use the actual device.

Step 3: If both issues still aren't fixed, double check your Routing Table & Fader assignments.
If everything seems to be routed properly in Windows, then we want to make sure things are set up correctly in the GoXLR App.

Hi! I bought a GoXLR almost a month ago and have been enjoying it so far. I tried out the sampler but can't seem to get it to record anything. The instructions were to just press and hold the button while talking. It does not seem to work. I tried restarting the app and reinstalling it.

Please let me know if ou have any ideas. Thank you.

PedroRodrigues Hi, Jose, there are usually 6 causes for the sampler to not record new samples so start with #1 and move on if your issue persists.
1.) Restart the GOXLR app and GOXLR then try to record a sample again.
2.) In the routing table of your GOXLR app, uncheck and then recheck mic in the samples row at the bottom then try to record a sample again.
3.) Go into windows sound settings by searching "Change System Sounds" in your taskbar, go to the recording tab, right click on samples then click properties, navigate to the levels tab and make sure that the slider is at 100 and not muted, then try to record a sample again.
4.) Disable or add exceptions to the GOXlR documents folder/GOXLR App to any 3rd party Anti-Virus like Avast, Malawarebytes, etc.... avast has been known to keep samples from being created so best to create the exception in others if you are running more than 1
5.) Close your GOXLR app and keep it closed, navigate to your GOXLR samples folder (by default it is in your documents/GOXLR) if you have samples in that folder make sure to copy the folder somewhere safe, then delete it from the GOXLR folder, restart the GOXLR app and try to record a sample again.
6.) Try another USB port and repeat.
Please try all these steps and you will have the sample up and running in no time.
      Thank you

Has there been an updated user manual since V 1.03?  The manual on TC-H’s website appears to be the original and shows different pages in the settings than the newer firmware?  Like Switch-6 etc are not in the manual that’s on line.

PedroRodrigues Hi Jim, thank you for your contact, please be aware that all the resources are present on the product's page by following the link below https://www.tc-helicon.com/tchelicon/product?modelCode=P0DEF Please also consider that in some cases changes caused by Firmware update will not be reflected on the manual. Thank you

JimTalbert Wait, so we’re supposed to figure out the changes with new firmware releases ourselves? And document them ourselves for future reference? Because the manual referenced on that page is the original, with no explanation of Switch-6 functionality or Global Guitar preferences or any other change that may have occurred.

JimTalbert Pedro, this is an unsatisfactory answer. You are still selling this product, many of us out here are still using it. When we have a question about the current firmware - which is an update from the original firmware - we should be able to research it through your website. Are you still shipping the product with the original - and now out-of-date - user’s manual? Does the box have a sticker alerting the buyer that the manual is incomplete, and even wrong. Do you caution buyers to go online and review the updates...no, because apparently you haven’t bothered to take an hour and post the updates.

This is not the quality of product support I saw four years ago when I bought my PA.

I have a client who has brought me a Go-XLR with a faulty headphone out which is whistling constantly. The reat of the machine is operational without issue.

My question is can I get a circuit for the headphone part of this machine only or is it a replacement CCT board to repair.?

I have no issue with surface mount components so a repairs is not a problem.

Can you help me please got one of your unit back to the client and working again..?

    Besr Regards,

Nigel67 Hi Alex, I am really sorry, would love to be able to help you, but we are not permitted to distribute circuit diagrams. If the unit is brand new, is there any chance that the client would be willing to get the unit repaired under warranty? If it was purchased under 30 days ago, then they could claim DOA with the shop they purchased it from, or if it is over 30 days, then they could contact us via a Technical Ticket using the Support tab at the top of the page and get it repaired by us under warranty.

Finalizer50 Nigel thanks for your reply. I'm sorry to say my client bought this item second hand so warranty is not on the cards ... Could you at least tell me the headphone driver chip id as it appears to be obscure...? Other wise this item will be consigned to the door stop cue because a cost effective repair is not avaliable.

    Hi,

I use TC HELICON PERFORM VK for a while, and wonder that, how to make use of USB AUDIO channels for live performance.

Can anyone suggest how to connect USB AUDIO port directly to a mixer and/or loudspeakers for live performance, without using a computer. Is there any solution to that, perheaps some interface that, both, "understands" TC HELICON PERFORM VK USB audio scheme to diverse the USB channels, and to put theme out through separate audio sockets in order to connect (one, some or all) these audio signals directly to a mixer.

PedroRodrigues Hi Gorazd Rakovec, please be aware that it will not be possible to use the USB output on the Perform VK without using computer. The unit offers via USB 4 input and 8 output channels for USB audio in PERFORM-VK.
As driver is required for both USB audio AND MIDI use this will not be possible to be used without a computer.
Via USB the unit offers on the input:
      CH 1 Backing Track L
      CH 2 Backing Track R
      CH 3 Dry vocal in
      CH 4 NaturalPlay IN.
If no signal is transmitted to the product on USB audio channel 3, the product will use analogue in for the voice input
On the output side the unit offers USB OUT:
CH 1 L processed vocal, Keyboard/ Aux in, the same as what is on main outputs, less the audio received on USB in
CH 2 R processed vocal, Keyboard/ Aux in, same as what is on main outputs, less the audio received on USB in 2
      CH 3 Dry Voice input
      CH 4 Not used
      CH 5 Dry INST IN R / Aux L
      CH 6 Dry INST IN R / Aux R CH 7 Harmony Voices L
      CH 8 Harmony Voices R.

A good guitar drive is the absence of clipping when the pick hits the string. Then you can play a sonorous dry and juicy mute, a technique that is used by most guitarists who play metal. Question to support: is it possible to configure it? Did anyone succeed? There are presets? If there is a preset where amp "metallic" could be overclocked to overload "pre gain" more than 50. I want to see it. And then I will understand whether my engineer needs to correct the circuit of my guitar or voicelive 3. While I observe a strong clipping in low frequencies when touching the strings. And this can't be fixed with any equalizer settings

We will try to make bandpass filters of low-pass cutoff into the guitar channel. Or set inside the channel gap distortion, and output the control button. I can't use external devices - I need mobility, I bought voicelive 3 because it should be one. Promised by the manufacturer that it will be one. Help with the scheme please!

Potapov One of the points to check the device, on the advice of support, was to check the same device. The same could not be found, but managed to purchase play gtx. Yes, apparently my voicelive is faulty. Something introduces distortion, somewhere in the guitar path there is excessive amplification, and this does not allow you to use the technique of playing "rhythmic surdins on bass strings". How can my electronics master get an electrical circuit to repair? No special TC-HELICON workshops were found in Russia. Maybe there are points on the motherboard to check the signal passage?

    Hello,

I do have a ticket that I'm waiting to hear from but thought I'd ask here as well.

My unit power cycles for maybe around 4 or 5 minutes. It will then kind of "settle in" and work ok.

While power cycling, the display will get dull then bright again.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Thank you.
