I want to set up compression, and ONLY compression, for both voice and guitar as a global setting, so ALL my voice and guitar presets will automatically have compression in them. Is this possible? If so how? Thanks.

Ok I think page 69-71 of the user manual, regarding global presets, will do what I want to do. However I see no compression for vocals so I'll have to use my Bose Tonematch's compression for the vocal channel.

The Vocal compression settings are held in the "Tone" Section behind the "Setup" button.

(press "Setup" Then arrow right until you get to "Tone")

There's also EQ, Gate and De-Ess hiding out there. They're Global settings.

Don't they realize it's almost impossible while playing a keyboard or guitar to look down and press a little Harmony foot-switch. If it came with something like a damper pedal, your foot could rest over the pedal and when you need harmony, etc. you don't have to look down to engage it.

As guitar players, we're used to stomping on little buttons. We can't live without them, LOL.

I'm sorry I have to disagree. I think TC missed the boat on this one. When you are singing into a mic, you don't have time to look down for small little push button switch. A mediim sized foot pedal with your foot resting over it is what I would have included in VoiceLive 1. If you are playing keyboards, do you really think you can even see the foot-switch? A major over-sight on TC's part in design practical features.I got a pedal to work but it was a pain in the ass. They want you to buy the FW6 which is the same silly thing. Those little buttons don't work for a singer that needs harmony through out a song. C'mon man, wake up TC.

      Hi @SteveSalamone ,

footswitches are the current standard for keyboard and guitar effects; one would be hard pressed to find an example of a product that doesn't use footswitches or that has a better alternative. One alternative is the Behringer fcb1010; it's a midi controller with large foot buttons and two treadles which you could map to the VL3, this would give you a ton of flexibility and easy control.

(adopts pantomime voice....) Oh no you can't !

You can't map the treadles to the VL3,cos the VL3 doesn't respond to the Midi that the fcb sends.

(as i stare at my fcb, sitting lonely in the corner, not being connected to anything....If only the Vl3 could respond to my midi advances. It mutters...tearfully.)

The VL3 can process a bass throught the guitar inputs. The only downside of using bass is that you can't use NaturalPlay harmonies with it as you need to play chords in order to use NaturalPlay.

    Hi
@TCHelicon-Tad Thinking about getting the GoXLR Mini but im wandering if and how you can add intro's, outro's and sound clips to your recording since the Mini has no sampler buttons?

      Hi @OldSchool ,

The Go XLR mini doesn't have any of the sampling options that the larger GoXLR has; it just has the mixing features.

So our Voicelive 3 Extreme has an intermittent fault.. Without warning the volume / Bass will drop out of a recorded loop. No settings are changed or cables moved. This happens with saved loops and also newly recorded loops. The live output on vocals and guitar remain at the correct volume and don't lose any of the bass. Recorded vocal loops also appear to be okay.

I'm fairly good at fault finding and systematically working through issues, but this one currently has me stumped. I'd understand if it was an auto volume clipping compression thing but on a previously working loop it doesn't make much sense? Has anyone had a similar issues and have they fixed it? If anyone from TC Helicon spots this... Is this an issue that you may be able to fix?

My daughter loves this piece of kit but if we can't make it stable (understand it may be our finger trouble somehow) we may be forced to find an alternative. She's a solo singer guitarist that's known locally for her looping talents.. So the pedal is a kind of essential piece of kit... Currently looking as though it may end up being a very expensive doorstop!

Is there a midi event I can SEND to the VL3X to start the playback of a backing track so I can do it with another device?

I thought I saw a video a while ago demostrating how you could use the VL3X to play back MIDI events as part of a backing track and therefore control other devices (my lights, for example) through the MIDI Out port.  Was I dreaming?

Interesting. So you can try recording a MIDI sequences from another controller that understands lights, and possibly load that into a loop into the VL3X, and then sequence the loops together?

Now, first let me say I have only got the Vl3 not the Vl3x so what i say may be mis-remembered half truths.

I "think" that the backing track section isn't recording MIDI information, It just records button presses and when they happened.

I assume* that the backing track also squirts out the control change message that corresponds to that effect going on or off, just as if the button was pressed.

Therefore, you could use that message to trigger something on something else. eg lights. But it would only be a single message. ie "The delay pedals been turned on- have a CC17=127 message"

But..... as I say, I don't actually know that the backing track squirts the midi CC's from the buttons out of the MIDI port. I'd assume it does....Surely it does? why wouldn't it? It's got to...surely?

Is there a way to connect the Perform V to my mixer as an aux to allow the effects to go to more than one microphone?86794893_809652866204281_4606490512453533696_o.jpg86970265_809642039538697_125059607889444864_n.jpgtempsnip.png

The Perform V input and output operate at mic level so are not suitable for direct connection to a mixer's FX/Aux Send and Return. You could use a 40dB Attenuator  or a DI Box to connect the mixer Aux Send to the Perform V Mic In. You would need to use a mic input on the mixer for the Perform V Mic Out.

I don't know how well this would work in practice. I think you would get better results using an FX processor that is designed to work at line level. For example: Behringer FX2000 or TC M350

After following all the steps in the manual (set gain,

etc ).  When I turn on the board, I immediately get feedback

I have put all XLR lines in the correct inputs and out puts.

    What am I doing

    wrong ????
