Does any creative using VoiceLive 3/3x to setup that can mimic the backgroud or harmony or what it called like the chorus you will hear in the song of PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC by Wild Cherry? can any body creative there that can share an idea if you have in your mind or guess?

    thank you so much.

I posted a question about audio delay from the HP out on my Perform V, and received an email with this case number (00992729). I can't find any referance to this case. Help?

Hello, I have recently purchased a VoiceLive 3 Extreme.

Can the stereo guitar input be used to provide 2 separate inputs from my piezo & humbucker equipped guitar?

I have a PRS hollowbody that I would like to use for both acoustic and humbucker songs. I have recently purchased a Parker "Y" cable that combines the 2 mono guitar signals into a stereo input jack.

    Thank you.

I don't see any way to do that, since the VL3 only has a single guitar input. The way to get around it, is to use an A/B box after the VL3, and run to different amps, or channels. I use a similar guitar, and there are enough tweaks in the VL3 to handle acoustic, and electric sounds without running separate amps. [disclaimer} I do NOT use a lot of distotion effects, as I'm mostly rhythm, and surf leads.

I realize that there is only 1 guitar input, but my understanding is that it's supposed to be a stereo jack.

The parker "Y" cable assigns the piezo to the to the tip of the sterio jack and assigns the humbucker to the ring of the sterio jack. (essentially 2 mono inputs in 1 stereo jack)

I would like to be able to set up my acoustic presets to draw from the pan left/tip input and the humbucker presets to draw from the pan right/ring of the sterio input jack.

      Hi Bill,

The Guitar Input on the VL3X is a TS Mono not Stereo.  The 3.5mm Aux input next to it is a stereo input but that's for line level accessories such as an iPod, etc.

I recently purchase the TC Helico Voice Live Play Acoustic.  Overall I am satisfied with the unit but would like to incorporate to external guitar effects pedals.  They are my Boss DS-1 distortion pedal and my Boss CH-1 chorus pedal.  I realize that the VLPA has a guitar chorus effect bulit in but have not found that to be very useful or effective and want to flexiblility and ease of control I get fom my Boss pedal.  Has anyone out there hooked up external effects to their VLPA?  If so, how and did it create any problems for you.

      Hi Melvin ( @mstojako ),

Welcome to the community.  Take a look at the diagram on Page 23 of the manual.   Just insert your pedalboard in-between the VLPA and your amp and you should be fine.  If you aren't using an amp, just take the output of your pedalboard back to another channel on your mixer.

Then, under Guitar FX on the VLPA, make sure all of the FX are set to OFF.

      Hope this helps,

      Ken

      Thank You Ken!

I'm currently running my VLPA directly into a JBLeon612. If I understand you correctly I would run my 1/4 guitar cable to the VLPA Guitar In then go from the VLPA Guitar Out to the Boss DS-1 via a  XLR Female -1/4" TRS Balanced Interconnect Cable.  I would run my Boss DS-1 into the Boss CH-1 with a 1/4" TR patch Cable and come out the CH-1 with either another  XLR Female -1/4" TRS Balanced Interconnect Cable to a XLR Male-XLR Female and plug into the JBLeon 612 or just go from the Boss CH-1 with a 1/4" TRS - XLR Male Balanced Interconnect Cable.

I think the biggest missing feature of the Play Acoustic is that it offers two parametric EQs for the guitar, but not for the vocal! It would be great if one or both could be switchable to the vocal instead, as I already have guitar EQ available in my onboard preamp. I would love to recommend this to a singer friend of mine, but she needs a big cut at about 2.3KHz and the Play Acoustic won't do it.

Is there any way to make the button on the harmonies -- a momentary button. Instead of clicking on, you would hold it for harmonies to be on.

I realize holding the button down was designed to serve a different purpose, causing the guitar to mute and tuner to engage, but I would gladly give those up for momentary function.

I don't know if some of the other models that add vocal harmonies can be used as I am describing, my question is specifically about the GT-X.

      Hey @Marshall7714,
Unfortunately the Harmony G-XT cannot behave as a momentary effect.  Like you pointed out, holding the footswitch is already reserved for the tuner.  Our Harmony Singer 2 pedal can be configured to act as a momentary effect, but sadly the Harmony G-XT cannot.  Cheers!

Hello, I have the VK and VE. I got the VL3X because on the comparison chart (that I can't seem to locate now) it said it bascially had the same as the VE and VK and I am trying to eliminate them and use the one unit (VL3X). I do only Vocals/choir/ etc. no instruments beside a Duff drum. Can the VL3X do the same as the Rec/sample button on the VE where I can record AH or OO and then play it back as chord chorus/backround with a midi keyboard? And, at the same time play harmony voices like when I have the VK and VE midi connected to my keyboard? Thanks Barkus

      Hey @Barkus,
Unfortunately the VoiceLive 3 can't record and play back samples at different pitches, you're stuck with real-time harmonies and looping.  The closest you could get to that behavior on a VL3 would be to use one of the notes mode harmony styles (at the end of the harmony styles list) for real-time harmonies controlled by a MIDI keyboard, and maybe record a drone note and loop that in the looper, but that pitch-shifted sample playback that Perform-VE can do isn't in any of our other products.  Cheers!

Hi everyone, I have a Strymon Ojai R30 power supply with a 12V and 375mA output. Can I use it to power Voicelive Play even if it requires 12V and 400mA? Can there be problems? Thank you!

      Hi @MicheleMancusi ,

The 25mA difference is not likely to damage the power supply but you need to be careful to make sure the power supply you have is "Center Negative".

Look for a symbol on the power supply similar to what's on the back of the VL Play.

      Hope this helps,

      Ken

      Hi @KenMitchell,

thanks a lot for your fast and precise reply. So this 25 mA difference is also safe for Voicelive Play?

      Thank you again so much.

      Hi @MicheleMancusi ,

The risk is actually to the power supply since it can only put out 375mA of current and the VLP could draw as much as 400mA.  It's very unlikely that the VLP actually needs the full 400mA and if it did, the power supply would likely just dip the 12V output a bit to compensate.   Watch out for any "glitchy" type behavior that may indicate the voltage dipping too low but I doubt you'll have any issues.

The negative center pin for the VLP is more of a concern since they make power supplies that have either a negative or a positive center pin.  Using the wrong polarity could damage the VLP.

      HI @MicheleMancusi ,

I just looked at the Strymon website and it says the Ojai R30 power supply is 24V not 12V.

Double check that before you plug it in.

The VL3/VL3X uses autodetection on the Guitar out jacks to determine whether to route the Guitar out the Main XLR - I haven't tested, but maybe the Guitar Thru jack may trigger this behaviour as well.

You could try setting the Guitar Jacks Mode (on the Output tab) to the Backing Track setting, which routes the Guitar outs via the Main XLR outputs.

Finally decided to bite the bullet and get one of the TC-Helicon mics to accompany my VoiceLive Play. I find it odd that the MP-75 is readily available online and in music stores, but the MP-76 is almost nowhere to be found - although I finally did find one supplier, at what appeared to be a pretty steeply discounted price. I snapped it up.

Just wondering why that is? Is the MP-76 still in production? Or is demand just so great they can't keep up?

      Hi Todd ( @Toadman99 ),

Sweetwater shows it as "No Longer Available". I checked with my local Guitar Center and was told that they are out of stock online and can no longer special order them.  Sounds like they were quietly discontinued or temporarily suspended from production.
