X32 with 5.1 system

Hello everybody 

i want to use the x32 as a 5.1 sound card
- the mixer is connected to the laptop with usb cable
- i instaled the X USB DRIVER

- i have a problems in the laptop's configuration to select each channel ( L / R / C / SL / SR )

any help please

Hello @FIRAS , welcome to the community.

 

You will need to use a media player that supports the ASIO sound interface. This would allow you to select the USB channel for each of the six sound sources.

I don't know how I do a 5.1 setup on my laptop

I don't think it is possible to configure Windows to use an X32 as a 5.1 soundcard. The X32 USB drivers for Windows only support multi-channel audio through the ASIO interface. This is why you need a media player that can use the ASIO interface for sound output.

 

I cannot recommend any particular media players that have this capability - or those that can be extended with plugins. I have played video with multi-channel audio through Reaper although this is a Digital Audio Workstation package that can also play video so probably not the best choice for home cinema. You may get better advice on a home cinema forum.
