Is it better to learn how to dj or produce if I want to do it as a hobby?

I've never played an instrument before or done any sort of such thing. I am still learning the basics of what equipment and softwares DJs and music producers use.

I have a lot of free time I spend alone and I just need a hobby to do. I don't plan on doing any of this full time at the moment I just need something productive to do that https://9apps.ooo/ I can get good at. Then I can decide how to proceed.

I think I like the idea of Music production more but it seems so completely insanely complicated and vague. You have someone from Tiesto to Hans Zimmer within this genre. Also there just doesn't seem to be alot of resources to help with this kind of stuff. DJing seems more like something I could learn if I put the time in. Its alot more streamlined and structured as well I think. However I doubt I'll ever play a set anywhere as I just don't have the connections so I'll never know how good I am. https://solitaire.onl/

So, someone who can dedicate 5 hours a week and just wants a hobby, what's better to learn?
