Community Toneprint Sharing

Volunteer Moderator

Really hoping we're going to see community toneprint sharing capabilities here very soon! I don't use any of the "artist" or factory toneprints. I write all my own, and I'm actually shocked that I have to perform such a basic task and cannot share the good solid patches I've made with others so they can use and improve them.

Also, it's really silly that I have to choose a sub-board in order to make this post, since it's applicable to multiple instrument types, but I'll put this under "Guitar", since that's probably where the largest numberr of users will see it.

Hi Gemma. Great to see you here in the Community!

We hear you and it's definitely a dream of ours too, hopefully encourgaing more and more users to experiment with making their own TonePrints instead of only uisng the factory or artist TonePrints.

I'm afraid there's not solid timeframe for this as it stands. There's not too many "if's and but's" at this point, but the "when" is still quite unclear. Rest assured, we'll keep you posted!

Hi!

This is a great idea. I want to share my Corona Chorus Toneprint here which can do chorus, vibrato, flanger and a couple of other interesting weird sounds. It can be found here with an explanation:

Hi Gemma! If you haven't already, send this comment as feedback to the site developers (the red button on the right side of the screen), so they can fix it! It would be nice with an easier way of posting stuff on here!

I’d love to be be able to edit certain Artist TonePrints to enable them to work better with the small versions of the pedals, for example the HOF Mini. The original TonePrints are designed to work with the 4 knob pedal, and so they don’t always sound great with the 1 knob pedal, and there’s no way to edit the parameters to get it to work better.

in regards to th original post, absolutely I’d love to be able to share TonePrints!

I found a hacky way of exporting/importing user Toneprints... Use at your own risk!

Toneprints are stored in a SQLite database file. Not sure where this file would be located on a Mac but on my Windows machine that file can be found at the following location:

%appdata%\TonePrint\database.sqlite3

You can edit this file with e.g. DB Browser for SQLite.

Exporting

To export your Toneprint you would have to go to the Browse Data tab and choose table userToneprints. Each row listed in the result represents one of your Toneprints. To find out which is which just check the column name. Select the row of the custom Toneprint you want to export by clicking on the row label on the very left. Once the row is selected right-click it and choose Copy as SQL. It is now stored in your clipboard so open up a text file, paste the content and save it.

Importing

To import a Toneprint you would have to go to the Execute SQL tab and either paste the Toneprint file's content into the large text pane or click on the Open SQL File button. To import the Toneprint click on the Execute SQL button (play icon).

Warning: Please note that all the entries in column id have to be unique! There might occur an issue if one of your existing Toneprints has the same id as the one you're about to import. If that's the case you will get an error like UNIQUE constraint failed when executing the SQL. You can easily solve that issue by modifying that id in the Execute SQL tab. If you check the SQL command you will find the ID most likely right after ) VALUES (.

Here's an example for an exported Toneprint (Flashback 2 Delay). It's nothing special, I just had a play with the Analog Delay and a nice trick for using the MASH button to dynamically change the delay time. Found this trick by @TC-Mike in this thread.

INSERT INTO "main"."userToneprints" ("id", "userId", "name", "effect", "modelId", "description", "data", "youtubeId", "soundcloudId", "tags", "isShared", "isEditable", "isSynced", "creationDate", "updateDate") VALUES ('f3ec123d54d04551b0523e1c12737749', 'local', 'ABR_742788', 'Delay', '35', '', X'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', '', '', '', '0', '0', '0', '0', '0');
