EtherCon cable suggestions?

Hey guys! Wondering what everyone is using for ethernet connections (from FoH to S16/32). I have the Behringer ethercon on the reel, but it's rubberized and VERY difficult to manage in terms of kinks and such. My church needs to break down and set up every Sunday, so ideally I'm looking for an easily coil-able but durable solution. Am willing to build my own if people have bulk cable suggestions.

Thanks!

Re: EtherCon cable suggestions?

Hi Philip,

This what I got from TigerDirect
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7647336&CatId=434
For the ethercon ends I got these from B&H
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/907939-REG/Neutrik_NE8MC_RJ45_Cable_Connector.html
For the reel, I got an air hose reel from Canadian Tire, removed the air hose and added my cable.

Re: EtherCon cable suggestions?

Where are you located?
I'm using this:
https://www.thomann.de/de/pro_snake_8838550.htm
It has a Belden Industrial Ethernet 74002PU on a Schill drum.
For a network cable I think it's OK.

But Ethernet cables always need a little bit more care than microphone cables.

When you need it every week in the same location, can't you install a network cable permanently?

Re: EtherCon cable suggestions?

I think it makes more sense to install permanent/hidden cabling between strategic points in venues such as this, and use shorter patches for the equipment at either side.

A friend has been using the Behringer NCAT5E-50M with no performance or coiling issues.
