M32 M32R + 2x DL32

Contributor - Level 2
I have a M32, M32R and two DL32's.
The M32 is FOH and the M32R Monitor.
The M32 (FOH) drives MLR, MC, and 3 stereo matrices.
The M32R drives 5 stereo IEM and 3 wedges.

Both DL32's are on a big stage. 1 in the center and one on the side near the M32R.

Is there anyone of you guys who can explain to how the routing for this setup should be?
I already tried a lot of possibilities but it does not work . The best I came up with left me with no out signal on the monitors DL32.

This is what I tried:
ASE50A port on the M32 connected to ASE50A port on the center stage DL32
ASE50B port on the M32 R connected to the ASE50A port on the center stage DL32
ASE50A port on the M32R connected to the ASE50A port on the monitor DL32

Synchronisation"
Sync on M32: internal
Sync on M32R: ASE50B
And ofcourse I setup the routing menu:

M32:
Home - inputs 1-8 ASE50A 1-8
Home - inputs 9-16 ASE50A 9-16
Home - inputs 17-25 ASE50A 17-25
Home - inputs 26-32 ASE50A 26-32

ASE50A tab:
Home - out 1-8
Home - out 9-16

M32R:
Home - inputs 1-8 ASE50B 1-8
Home - inputs 9-16 ASE50B 9-16
Home - inputs 17-25 ASE50B 17-25
Home - inputs 26-32 ASE50B 26-32

ASE50B tab:
Home - out 1-8
Home - out 9-16

Can't get it to work the way I want.Smiley Sad

Can this be done, and if so is there someone who can explain to me how to do this?

Thanks and regards!

Hi Bart,

I think there is a typo in the following:
ASE50A port on the M32 connected to ASE50A port on the center stage DL32
ASE50B port on the M32 R connected to the ASE50A port on the center stage DL32
ASE50A port on the M32R connected to the ASE50A port on the monitor DL32

Should the second line read:
ASE50B port on the M32 R connected to the ASE50B port on the center stage DL32

If so, change the following:
M32R:
ASE50B tab:
Home - out 1-8
Home - out 9-16

to
M32R:
ASE50A tab:
Home - out 1-8
Home - out 9-16

Hi Paul, Thank you very much for your reply.
You are right, that's a typo!

I changed it and I changed:

ASE50B tab:
Home - out 1-8
Home - out 9-16

to:

ASE50A tab:
Home - out 1-8
Home - out 9-16

But still no signal coming out of the outputs on the monitor DL 32

Hi Bart,

Next question, what is assigned on the M32R Routing, Out 1-16? That is what is feeding the AES50-A outputs. Maybe you should upload your M32R scene file. Here are the instructions.

Hi Paul,
Here are my scenes.

Hi Bart,

I see only one issue on the M32R Routing, Out 1-16. Both outputs 1 and 2 are assigned bus 1. Output 2 probably should have bus 2 assigned for Vince's stereo IEM. Other than that, the routing is correct.

I guess the next thing is to verify the inter-connectivity. The M32R AES50 A (make sure it is in A, not B) is connected to the DL32 A (again make sure it is in A, not B). Next, do you have synchronization between console and stagebox?

I think I don't understand you, do you mean:

Connecting M32R AES50 A port to Center stage DL32 A port?
sync between M32R and Center stage DL32 A ??

It looks like the AES50 B in M32R doesn't connect to the monitor DL32

That is probably because you have both M32 as master clocks and have them connected through the one DL32 (M32 FOH to A port, M32R MON to B port). Try changing (on the M32R) the Setup, config, synchronization to AES50 port B.

Unfortunately the DL32 (and S32) is a bit different of a stagebox and I've never used one. So I'm not exactly sure how the word clock works when connecting multiple consoles and stageboxes, such as a scenario as this.

Hi Paul,
It's working!!

I probably switched either the two DL32's or some routing settings.
(They are standing close to each other here in my living room)

It's OK now and more important I understand how the routing menu works now.

Thank you very much for your kind help!

best regards
