Filter envelope not triggering?

Hi,

I seem to have an issue with the filter envelope on my model D. It doesn't matter how I set the filter controls, the attach and decay cycles don't run. The sustain responds....if I set the amount of contour and change the sustain, it opens and closes the filter, but it's as though the envelope is no re-triggering.

The decay control is doing something as if I set the decay high, the sustain takes a while to change when the control is moved.

It started behaving like this some of the time shortly after I received it, but from today it seems to be stuck in this behaviour.

Am I missing something, or is the unit faulty? Smiley Sad

Thanks

David

Additional point....

Digging around trying to find any explanation, I’ve noticed that if I set the Loud decay on and set the loudness decay high, when I’d turn the unit on there’s a low C playing and fading out. Could the unit be holding a stuck note over midi?!

Re: Filter envelope not triggering?

Hi David, welcome to the forum!

My apologies for not responding to your post earlier but I needed to get more information before engaging with you about this experience. I'm sorry to hear that you've been experiencing this difficulty with your Model D, and I agree that this sounds like rather strange behavior. I would recommend that you please contact our CARE department so that we can help you troubleshoot and ultimately determine the cause. You can reach us by phone at 702-800-8290 (US) or +44 1562 732290 (UK) or just send us an email to CARECREA@musictribe.com and one of our technical CARE specialists will be glad to assist you in any way they can.

Also please keep us posted on the outcome here in the forum, just in case your resolution similar behavior for others and the answer might help them as well. Of course if there's anything else I can do to assist here in the forum then please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks!

Working with the support team

Hi Michael,

Thanks for responding, since I posted this I have raised a call with your support team and I’m working through this with them. So far, they are not seeing what the issue is and think it’s normal behaviour, so possibly I’m just not explaining it well enough.

In case it helps others, this is a video I took of the issue. Apologies, it’s not direct out, just phone microphone, so not great audio!

I’m happy to keep people updated on the outcome.

Re: Filter envelope not triggering?

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

Question, have you tried using another external MIDI controller to see if similar experiences happen? Also, if you fire up the Model D with no external MIDI input connected does the low note still happen all on it's own?

Seeing similar behaviour

Hey David,

Did you get to the bottom of this? I'm seeing similar behaviour where the filter envelope does not seem to have any effect.

Regards,
Johan

Hi All,

Was just notified that another firmware update is now available for Model D. Please try downloading and updating your firmware to the latest release (v1.1.1) and see if this helps. You can find the latest firmware updater tool for MacOS and Windows here on the Behringer website.

Please let us know if this helps.
