VL3X -Are there any EQ Settings?

Hi

Can I change the eq bass / treble mix in VL3X. For example if I want a guitar preset to be more "bassy" can I do this in VL3X instead of adjusting the PA system?

Can I make my voice more mellow for example in a vocal preset?

If no to the above has anyone tried the dbx GoRack or the Mackie ProDX series mixer between the VL3X and the speaker system?

Thanks

Re: VL3X -Are there any EQ Settings?

For guitar, there are extensive EQ controls, and these are settable by the preset.

For voice, there are EQ controls that are global. They're in the Setup section, under Tone. You can set the following:

Tone on/off
Shape (0-100)
Compress "
De-Ess "
Compression mode, Manual (threshold and ratio controls) or adaptive (compress 0-100)
Gate (lead and harmonic attenuation)
EQ Mode (Adaptive has Shape and Warmth; Manual gives you full EQ control).

Shape question

Wonderful info, thanks David,

Could you explain what "shape" is a bit more?
What it basically does to a voice's EQ

Thanksyou

Tone preset

Hi everybody,

I saw in the doc that tone is a global setup.

As a singer, the eq setup for a whispering song is completely different
From a screaming song, but the tone setup is global for the voice,
Consequently I can not change it by changing preset....
Probably for the guitar it is not like that.

How can I manage those eq changes, during live situations?
Get a daw and control those settings via midi?
It works....but it's not handy....I would also need a laptop...daw...set it all up...

If there is no way....it would be a great improvement in future devices,
To have the tone setting local to the preset and not GLOBAL.
What do you think about?

Re: VL3X -Are there any EQ Settings?

Hi

I've read that it is possible to modify presets and save them through voicelive editor. I will check it out once back home
