WIFI Network based In Ear and Mics

Does anyone know of any products based network WiFi for in ear monitoring or mics/instruments. It would be great to have products based on the common WiFi networking environment for in ear and mics/instruments. If not, maybe Behringer can be the first into this type of offering.

Re: WIFI Network based In Ear and Mics

Current wifi-technology is not well suited for this purpose. There is too much latency and packetloss to make this work reliably without large buffers (buffering=excessive latency). I can't say it will never happen though. 20 years ago nobody in their right mind would suggest to used wired ethernet for audio either, but today there are several good alternatives based off that technology. Current wifi is architecturally similar to old-fashioned broadcast ethernets with hosts interconnected with HUBs or coaxial cable.
