Did I wasted 1 month payment?

I am using Konnekt 6 on XP SP2. All works good but when I run control panel its got crashed.

I thought its problem with my comp or OS, so I installed Vista Ultimate. When I tried to install drivers its said "Fatal error".

Yeah, I got "Konnekt software version 2.1.0 build 3657", and tried "WindowsXP-KB885222-v2-x86-ENU.exe" update. Also, tried to uninstall Konnekt 6 software, clean registry...etc...

Tried everything...

As I can see I just wasted my 1 month payment. Tnx for that................

Re: Did I wasted 1 month payment?

In order for other users, or me, to be able to assist you you should post some detailed system specs including what firewire controller chipset is in use.
You can of course start by doing this:

- Disconnect the Konnekt completely

- Run the uninstaller from ADD/REMOVE programs

- From the START MENU, choose RUN. Then type:
regsvr32 -u c:\windows\system32\TCNearAsio.dll

- Delete the following files
c:\windows\system32\TCNearAsio.dll
c:\windows\system32\drivers\TCNear.sys
c:\windows\system32\drivers\TCNearAudio.sys
c:\windows\system32\drivers\TCNearMIDI.sys

- From the START menu, select RUN and type CMD. From the DOS prompt, type:
set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
start devmgmt.msc

- From the Device Manager select from the VIEW menu, Show Hidden Devices

- Scroll down to Sound, Video and Game Controllers - remove all TC Near related items (use the delete key). If you have any other MIDI devices or old ASIO devices that are no longer in use its a good idea to delete them too.

- Go to C:\Program Files\TC Electronic and delete the TCNEAR directory

- Reboot

- Install this software version:

Re: Did I wasted 1 month payment?

Well it looks like I'm not alone anymore, I've got the same problem.

Everything works (recording & playback) but no control panel on my screen.

Someone got an idea?

(Windows xp/sp3 - pci-card with TI chipset - windows hotfixes are installed)

Re: Did I wasted 1 month payment?

I did several times Rune, without any result.

I notice I've got nearly the same CPU as Stika (AMD Athlon (TM) XP 2200+ if I rember well). Could this maybe cause the problem?

Re: Did I wasted 1 month payment?

barendse: I wouldn't think so. More likely that it is the onboard firwire chipset than anything else. If possible, try a Texas Instruments based firewire controller (pci). Also, make sure that the CPU is 1.6ghz or higher (minimum system requirements)

Re: Did I wasted 1 month payment?

CPU is 1.8ghz and I'm using a firewire pci-card with TI chipset.

As I can see u recommend VIA VT6306 chip.

Yeah I also tried on one of my laptops TI chipset. Wasnt working. But on the another laptop with TI chip and Vista x32 OS working very well.

I think that TC electronic didnt worked well on Firewire and XP OS compatibility.

I was stupid and trusted(I dont wanna be rude but really...).
